"By all means, please proceed." Hifu starts to follow. "After this we would like some food and ale in our bellies. Despite Nyx's best efforts and seasoning, that creature isn't sitting well on my stomach, it seems to be repeating on me." Hifu lets out a belch and a few sparks come out.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
(It is -40C, so everyone is covered in coats, furlined hoods and face masks.)
The two guards lead you through the alleys towards the harbour. On your way you pass three houses buried in snow. They remind you that during the last 18 month not everyone survived and that people tried to brave the blizzards and left Icewind Dale to never be seen again.
After 5 minutes you approach a large building. One of the men beckons James to follow him to a stable door next to it: „You can unload that thing inside there and keep your dogs warm. The rest of you follow Sedar inside.“
James, inside the stable you see 2 Axebeaks in their pens and a small stove burning oil in the middle. The men removes his hood and facemask and you see a copper skinned human :“Let‘s put that thing in the empty pen over there and you can leave your dogs over there.“ He points you to two more empty pens on the right side of the stable.
Those who follow Sedar enter the main building through a gable door, he leads you into a foyer, where he stores his lantern in a cupboard and leads you forward. He guides you to a large room filled with tables and benches. Several fur coats hang next to the door. There are two groups in the room, at one table you can see three men quietly enjoy a game of cards, while at the far end near the chimney a woman is sitting at a table reading with a men standing in attendance. Sedar points you to an empty table and suggest that you get comfortable while he informs the captain. He then proceeds to approach the woman who stoped reading and is watching you now. They exchange a few words quietly before the woman get‘s up and comes over to you. Her hard face , athletic build and streaks of gray hair radiate authority. „Greetings, my officer informed me that you are the ones who where hired to check out the problem in the mine?“ and with a look towards the six Kobolds who try to huddle in the corner she adds :“ and i assume you are the ones who scared the miners?“
“Aye Cap’n! Correct on both counts! Against my better judgement, my pals here decided to take the rascals back to town. So I guess they’re your problem now. I’d happily go into more detail, but the journey has left me parched. Ye got any Ale about here?”
"Captain Vanja? Greetings, Hifu here and these are my companions." Introductions are made. "Initially the miners may have been scared off by the kobolds, but what was really scaring them (and hunting them) was this creature over here, a floating brain with a beak and tentacles. It would wait for them to walk into a dark place alone in the mine, then pick them up and float away with them, and eat them. The miners were scared of this unknown creature before Trek and his group ever arrived. They did not mean to cause problems, they were merely looking for shelter from the winter and they were chased out of their home in the mountain by a large snow beast. You should speak with their leader, Trek, for more details. They aided us in our quest and they wish to peacefully coexist with Termalaine, perhaps there can be a mutually beneficial relationship worked out. We have killed the monster and cleared out the mine, we wish to speak with Speaker Mashtew as well, he hired us for this job. Thank you for inviting us in..." Hifu pauses here and sits down, looking at his companions.

Gilgin watches Hifu Incredulously trying to figure out if the Kobolds have cast some sort of charm on him. He looks at Hifu sympatheticly.

Gilgin looks at Nyx and James, tapping his temple. And thinks really hard.
“Pals, Hifus acting pretty odd here, and this Trex.... I’ve been watching him. I really get the feeling he doesn’t care for the Kobolds at all - he’s got his own agenda going on, I don’t know what it is. Maybe he isn’t even a Kobold. I’ve dealt with tricksy Fae who change their appearance, charm you into their service and are good with their words berore. I can’t let Hifu go through what I did.
You can hear the chill in her voice when she replies to Gilgin: „I am sorry master dwarf, but we ain‘t a pub here. I am sure you got your own beer somewhere to enjoy.“ She then listens to Hifu and replies a little bit more courteous: „I will leave the Kobolds for Masthew to sort out, but for now they can stay here in the barrack. How much did he promise you for sorting out the mine?“ She then addresses Trex who took a step forward: „I have to ask you to not leave the building on your own for now please, if you want to go somewhere i will organise you two guards to accompany you, is that clear?“
Trex is a bit intimidated but unlike the other kobolds he seams to be calm and unafraid when he replies: „Yes ma‘am, we only look for a save place to stay, we don‘t want to be bothersome.“
Captain Vanja calls her attendee over: „Please inform Speaker Masthew that we have guest over here who want to speak with him. Also tell Omar and Kevon to take care of the monster. Sedar and Dran can warm themself up before they finish their round.“ The men replies with a short „Yes Captain!“, before he goes over to the three guards who are playing and Sedar. You can hear one of them cheer and two complain about luck and lost money, before two of them get up grab their weapons that were leaning in the corner next to them, and leave the room together with the attendee.
Hifu remains calm and winks at Gilgin. He smiles at everyone and rests at the table. He speaks in a low voice to his companions.
"I hear you brother Gilgin, I hear your concerns. Let's let this matter play out, we will see what Speaker Mashtew says. In dwarvish he says to Gilgin - "Never doubt my loyalties brother, we will see the truth soon enough. And if everything works out so much the better."

Jamesnods agreement with the town guard and helps him unload the creatures corpse, before tending to his dogs.
Having made sure the dogs have been rewarded for their obedience and good behaviour, and that they are safe and secured, Jamesfollows the town guard out and around into the main barracks.
"Thanks for you hospitality."
Jamesrejoins his companions.
"So what did the captainhave to say? Are the kobold's doing ok? No troubles?"
Captain Vanja is a little bit annoyed when you change the language, but she sits down at the table: „I have seen her a few times in town and i know she was staying in the Clam for the last few months, but what is with the rest of you, what connects you to Termalaine?“ (when she said her, she nodded at Nyx)
“I been travelling around the Tentowns looking for work to keep me happy and drunk, neither of which I am feeling now. I like it up here, it’s cold and harsh, much like you Cap’n. I bet yer a good leader, put the fear of the Gods into yer wee ones. I respect that. ButI’ve done my time in servitude, I only answer to my God and my belly now, so please don’t hold me to the same standards as your men. Mashtew offered us 100 gold pieces for clearing the mine, we did it. And I must have lost me own beverage while I was on the edge of death, about to be eaten by that monster ye see outside. Now, if you do have anything stored away here for special occasions, I really am quite thirsty Cap’n and ye can reimburse yourself from my takings.”

”Say, did ye see a big fella come ahead of us? He came to warn ye all that the pipsqueaks were coming!”
„I think you will understand that alcohol in a guard post is kind of distracting. I don‘t mind if they get drunk later, but i prefer my militia sober when on duty.“
Gilgin grunts, ”Think we’ll ‘ave to agree to disagree there. So did you see our Goliath friend? He came ahead of us and I’m starting to miss the big guy.”
Captain Vanja keeps on chating with you guys for a bit, she seams to be interested in stories from the other towns as well as your intentions in Termalaine. If you want to stay, or if you keep on traveling. Once the second guard ( Dran) arrive, she calls Sedan over and asks him to organise some tea for everyone wich he does. At that point she excuses herself and asks Trex to join her at her desk for a slightly more privat conversation.
A few moments later 4 people enter, Kravek with Speaker Masthew, his goliath bodyguard and the captains attendee. The speaker stops by your table only for a brief moment to express his gratitude and thank you for your help, before he excuses himself to speak with the Captain and Trex.
“Kravek! Big guy, how was yer journey? Did Mashtew say when we’ll be getting paid? We’ll ‘ave a good old celebration eh!” Gilgin roars on Kravek return
“C’mon, let’s hurry up and get there! Quicker we do the debrief, is be quicker we can get to the tavern and celebrate our discovery!” Gilgin Grins

James steps forward and introduces himself to the captain.
"Hi, my names James Dekker, I'm primarily a bounty hunter by trade."
"Like Gilgin, I've been travelling around the Ten Towns looking for work, for about 6 months or so now."
"I've actually just gotten back from a trip to drop off a friend to Fireshear."
"Came back through Bryn Shander and then Targos before heading around to here."
"Truth be told, my usual work has dried up a bit, with the hardship everyone's facing right now, so I'm branching out a bit."
James smiles and waves in the direction of the stable.
"I've got four little ones who rely on me now, so I've got to work if I'm going to keep them fed."
