“How will you know that we are the ones that completed the task? Should we bring back a few kobold heads? They are evil creatures...”. Hifu looks from Mashtew to Kravec and back to Mashtew, still playing the part. "Otherwise if all is settled, let us proceed."
Speaker Masthew looks at Kravek, who seams to be the leader and in a friendly no nonsense tone explains: „When you return, i will listen to your report and take it for the truth. You see, the usual punishment for scamming a community would be to be outcast from that village. On top of that, a description of you would be send to each speaker of Ten Towns who then may or may not outcast you as well. You are around here for a while so i don‘t think i need to explain the consequences of loosing shelter here in Icewind Dale.“
Nyx, you know this village better then the others, you don‘t see any miners here tonight. The Blue Clam is more for the fishermen. The Eastside, the Inn on the other side of the village is where most miners would hang out.
( the name of the inn is Eastside, edited afterwards)
Nyxsays, "Master Kravek, I believe we have all we need here. If you wish to speak to any miners then we might try the Eastend. Or we can set off, take a look around and if we need more information the come back. If it's only half an hour away then it's not a big loss."
Kravek will reply to Speaker Masthew You need not worry, i will not risk the wrath of the gods for such deceit.
It seems we are done here, let us move out while there is still some light. He gets up motioning the others to do so as well. He starts putting on his winter coat tightly makes sure his snowboots are ready to go.
We shall return as soon as we canhe says while looking at Venea instead of the speaker. Walking to the door, outside of hearing range for the speaker and Vene and before stepping into the blizzard. Do we need a quick stop at Eastend to talk to a miner or should be go straight to the mine?
”Hehe, speak to the miners.. nah, we should go because...the thing you said about light heh. Besides, what’ll talkin te the miners get us eh, hehe... nothin’ we cannae see for ourselves!” Gilgin puffs out his chest, trying to seem tough, but he laughs nervously through his speech, and his voice is shaky.
Kravek will not attempt to get on the small sled seeing its crowded already. He will start walking towards the direction that the speaker told them. Following the treeline north of the village eastward.
He wont say much but after a few minutes walking he will ask Did you guys notice Venea couldnt keep her eyes of me?(since she saw him as a treat)
Hifu walks beside Kravek as we are heading to the mine. "I think you have a shot Kravek. But she did seem to be all business tonight. We were trying to help you." To everyone - "Did you see any others who were accepting this challenge? Perhaps we are the first to head to the mine. Who is the sneakiest of our group to scout ahead? Should we just march in and look around?" Hifu takes out his war hammer that his master had trained him with and begins a weird stretching routine and practice swings as we are walking. He combines it with punches and breathing in a ritualized manner. As he finishes, he wraps his cold weather gear tighter and says "That warmed me up. I'll be glad when this is done and we have that gold in our pockets and food in our bellies."
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Since you arrived in Termalaine earlier today, the temperatures got even colder and a merciless wind picked up. Every little bit of exposed skin hurts as if on fire and your breath is freezing on your facemasks or scarfs. Every now and then you can hear the ice crack in front of your face. Only Kravek seams ,not uncomfortable, but ok with the weather.
After a short walk you reach a small hill, a part of its front is cleared away and in the dimm moonlight you can make out a small building with big doors near an open tunnel into the hill. You also see carts half covered in snowdrifts and a sight (free of any snow) next to the tunnel entrance.
She casts Armor of Agathys and swims through the massive snow piles (she's REALLY short) towards the opening. If nothing is moving around then she will go as far as a few feet into the tunnel, then come back out and wave the others closer.
Gilgin was uncharacteristically quiet over the journey. As he sat in the sled next to Nyx, he seemed lost in thought.
On arrival he let’s out a sigh before muttering a prayer in dwarvish -
“Dumathoin, my lord, protector, creator and saviour of the mines, giver of all that comes from them. I may be unworthy, but I am still your humble servant - please give me the strength to protect what you have made. I may have strayed far from you, and as I enter your home I await any judgement you may bring on me.”
When he opens his eyes, Nyx is making her way through the snow “That crazy little....” Gilgin cries tumbling out of the sled, pulling out his shield
Walking through the snow with the cold wind on his face Kravek ducks into his winter coat even though his thick skin protects him from its bite.
Getting to the first part of the tunnel away from the open the wind is less intense. We should check out the small building while Nyx goes into the tunnel.
He looks to Nyx.
Be carefull, we dont know how many kobolds are in there.
If Nyx goes into the tunnel Kravek will move to the doors of the small building. Does he see any winds or lights inside?
The building is completly windowless. It looks like a small barn, most likely to house an axebeak or two. You have seen those giant birds around tentowns. People here use them instead of mules.

James sits back contemplating everything being said.
When Kravek says "My crew", James smiles, but continues to sit quietly.

“I agree, let’s head right to the mine.... leader.” Hifu smiles at Kravek.
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
James finishes the last of his mead and stands up.
"Right, its decided then, lets go."
James pulls his mask up and his hood on, before stepping back outside and tending to his dogs.
As the others come out, James offers,
"I can take you lighter ones, if you want a ride."
James indicates the main body of the Dogsled to Nyx and Gilgin.
"Up to you."

Nyx grabs her pack (from wherever) and hops onto the sled.
"Thank you!"
She warms up some blankets and stuff around her and Gilgin if he decides to jump in as well.
Kravek will not attempt to get on the small sled seeing its crowded already. He will start walking towards the direction that the speaker told them. Following the treeline north of the village eastward.

Kravek smiles I think she likes me.
Then continues to walk on.
James remains silent at Kravek's words, but Nyx hears James' voice in her mind.
"That's not how I remember it. She seemed hyper vigilant, for some unseen danger."

Everything seams quite, the sighn next to the entrance reads "Kobolds Only!" It is written in a very clear and precise handwriteing.
Nyx waves others to come closer and points to the sign.
"You mind if I check a little further?"

James directs the dogs over to the barn like building, hoping to be able to keep them inside, while the group searches the mine.
James stakes the sled and quiets the dogs down before taking his greatsword from his back and approaching the building with Kravek.
"Shell we have a look inside?"
James attempts to enter the building by the most obvious entrance, looking for trouble and ready to react to any found.
