(A slice will be 3cp and a whole pie for a silver.)
The teenagers howl and point at Aimee, the older crew jump and grumble to one another and the halfling buried in his book looks over his glasses, raising an eyebrow. The bartender just waves his arms at everyone. “Alright, alright! Calm it down! Probably just some mages from the Order, or Force Grey. They’re helping with the scarecrows.”
As the bartender pours your drinks he answers Aimee, “Oh, all over the area. We noticed one morning that some of our trees had been hit. One of the kids found it and didn’t think to report it, that’s the problem with seasonal workers. Turns out all our neighbours have been hit too. At least we’re big enough to take the hit, these smaller businesses need every crop they can get in the sunmer. Anyway, we got a few of the old guard out there to camp out and see if they could catch what it was, thinking it would be some kind of fox or badger. Boy were they surprised.”
“A mighty surprise indeed, they’re quite spooked. Locals won’t come down here from town now thanks to the stories. Everybody around here seems to be getting hit by it, except maybe the Amundsfarm, they got fences and guards, and are quite some ways away. Mrs May hasn’t had any complaints either, I wouldn’t give her too much grief though. She’s been taking it pretty hard since her husband passed. Good thing she’s got her old mate Losser keeping tabs on her.” The bartender leans on his pump handles, talking energetically as he looks you over, grinning at each bite you take of the pie. “Good stuff eh? We use three different varieties of apple for the perfect taste. You’ll never have a pie like it.” As you eat and drink, you hear the door close behind you.
Travelling along the country road, you approach a large field of corn, all in perfectly lined up quadrants. In the centre is a large circular crop, with a gap shaped like a doorway. Above it is a sign reading “Mae May’s Amazing Maize Maze”. next to the maze is a small humble cottage with a sign on the door reading “Admissions”
As Lyss heads towards the house, Kerri and Aimee stay back. Quiet as a mouse, she makes it up to the window spotting a halfling woman sat on a sofa crying as she clutches a painting. As she peers in, she hears the sound of rustling bushes once more as the familiar painted on face of a scarecrow shambles out of the hedge maze.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Lyss pops around the corner of the building and fires on the scarecrow, before ducking back and circling around the hut.

"Milk for me please! And maybe some apple pie? I'll pay for the pie."

She waves to the freaked out patrons,
"I think I am part of an order! I pay the due anyhow! We're here to blast the scarecrows!"
Aimee nods and says,
"Oh, yes! Pie and cider! Oh and who hasn't been hit? Or do they hit and come back to hit again?"

"It is great pie! Where does Mrs. May live? We should go check her place for sure if she is alone!"
She looks to Lyss and Kerri,
"Maybe we should check around the Amundsfarm too? Talk to the guards there?"
“She runs the Corn farm down the way, you can’t miss it, it’s got the big maze for the kiddo’s.”
As you finish up your drinks, the farm workers stay on their tables drinking but the lone halfling has gone.

Aimee stands up and immediately starts heading to the maze.
