Despite all of his well practiced, ceremonious blade twirls, Edvord fumbles at the last moment, going way wide with his slash. Much like Kerri’s blast, it seemed near impossible to miss. A few of the cheering onlookers start to chuckle and jeer. ”My nan could swing a sword better than that fancypants!” before they go back to watching the impressive man on the horse. Aldrik, you notice the attention you’re getting and it feels preeeettty good. (Add an inspiration)
Lyss feels pretty confident about being unseen both times she hid, this blob doesn’t seem to see or hear in the traditional sense and only seems to be focusing on the person nearest at any one time. Her dagger strikes true again, but melts away just like the last.
With everyone a good distance from the blob, it seems to calm down, retreating to just over the sewage drain before shrinking, entering the drain with a gurgle.

Aldrik gives a victorious whoop at the crowd, the anger replaced by elation. He holds the lance high and vertical, surprised that the ribbons survived even if the steel head is a bit pitted.
He quickly trots Mouse over to the older street sweeper, looking down at the man from his horse. "You there. You were responsible for that lad's training and safety, yes? Does the city not expect wierd and terrible creatures in such close proximity to Blackcloak's madhouse?"
The small crowd disperses as you speak to the older worker. He scribbles on a piece of paper on a clipboard as you quiz him. He seems a little bashful, and red in the face, perhaps embarrassed at his mistake. “Well um… yes, I should have listened to the littlun, but well, mistakes were made. It’s a hazard of the job, there in the contract when you sign up, he knew the risks. Now if you’ll be so kind as to sign this incident report we can all be getting back on with our day and the Dungsweepers guild will be very appreciative.” he hands over the form, a box is ticked in a long list of potential incidents such as vomiting, breaking a broom or repetitive strain injury. This box is labelled ‘eaten by ooze’. Below is written
Routine sweeping. E noticed suspicious substance, warned B it might be Ooze. B touched substance and was immediately eaten. E fought off Ooze with help of passers by
Lyss takes the clipboard and makes the addendum scrawled in a none too steady hand in the margins.
I warned them it was bad news, but they just HAD to touch it. You need to train your people better. Oh, and if you want us to take care of your ooze problem, before more dumb workers get eaten, come find us at Trollskull Manor to discuss our fee. ~Lysslinn (a brave and smart bystander who saved this other idiot's butt)

Aldrik swings down from Mouse and politely asks Lyss to let him see the clipboard.
With the pen, he makes the following changes:
Routine sweeping. B noticed suspicious substance, warned B it might be Ooze ^by Members of House Reinholdt and accompanying companions. B touched substance and was immediately eaten. E fought off Ooze with help of passers by. Members of House Reinholdt and accompanying companions drove off the ooze, saving E and other civilians. Cost in assets: two daggers destroyed by ooze, one lance damaged by ooze. Repayment of assets to House Reinholdt and accompanying companions expected, to be paid at Trollskull Manor.
He then repeats the phrase word for word on a second incident sheet, minus the strikethroughs, and uses his signet ring to make an indentation on each paper. He gives the copy to Ernie."Sign this copy, please. Then we'll sign both, and all can be on our way. Have to keep things on the level, after all."
Edvord, miffed at his poor swordplay and decision making skulks off in the corner towards the sewer grate where the ooze disappeared. "Kerri or Cico, mind giving me another set of eyes over here while the "children" play with their penmanship?"Frustrated and dejected that likely nothing of value can be discerned, Edvord just lazily stares down at the opening.
Cico moves at the mention of his name. He'd become mesmerized by the ooze and the clamour of the fighting and shouting and jeering by the crowd but he's himself again.
Way of saying, I was offline yesterday. Sorry.
He comes over to where Edvord and Kerri are standing by the opening. He crouches down and presses his face close to see if he can see anything else moving around down there.
The sewer is pretty dark, but those with darkvision are just able to catch the goo slinking off. As bewildered as Cico is, those of you who have spent some time in the city know that ooze is a hazard around sewers, even if it’s an uncommon one. This Ooze seemed particularly big and a little more dangerous than your everyday ooze but otherwise didn’t seem to behave unnaturally.
The dungsweep begrudgingly signs the papers, dumbfounded by this bureaucratic wizardry. “You’ll regret this” he grumbles as he shuffles down the road sweeping angrily.
There’s still no sign of this horse, it’s still around early-mid afternoon. What would you like to do?
Aldrik smiles at Ernie. "Of course. Happy sweeping, may the Open Lord favor your guild."He made sure to give the sweeper the copy with Lyss's addendum, and keeps the second copy for himself, tucking it away in his pouch.
OOC: Ernie is the Big Bad of Waterdeep. If he wasn't before, he certainly is now :D
Returning to the grate, he looms a bit over Cico inadvertently, once again holding Mouse's lead.
"See anything? If not, let's keep searching for this horse. It might be late enough by the time we finally make it to the Mermaid that we really will need to dress formally."
You also notice a bone dagger and a few eyeballs caught in the grate, the dagger has a symbol carved into its pommel of a circle with spokes pointing outward and a dot in it’s center.

"It ate my two best daggers! And that kid...", Lyss pops her head out.
She strides up to the older worker. "You should have LISTENED to me! I know what I'm talking about!"

"It has retreated," Cico says to Aimee. "This city must throw out a lot for such a creature to survive down there."
He looks back to the dray horses again, and not seeing the violet flower, he turns back to the others.
"You want to change clothes, yes?" Cico says to Aldrik.
Aldrik smiles at Ernie. "Of course. Happy sweeping, may the Open Lord favor your guild." He made sure to give the sweeper the copy with Lyss's addendum, and keeps the second copy for himself, tucking it away in his pouch.

Cico reaches down to what catches his interest first: the eyeballs.
"The ooze may have left these behind," he says as he holds up the eyeballs, turning them in light to see what colour they are and if they look human.
Then he reaches down for the dagger and pulls it out of the grate.
"Oh, this too," he adds, holding up the dagger. He looks closely at the symbol to see if he's come across the sign before.

Aimee will look with interest at the eyeballs before giving the dagger a glance to see if the symbols ring any bells for her.
"Weird that eyeballs are immune to ooze oozing! You could cover yourself in eyeballs as armor against them!"
