Edvords extra senses fade as he lights his coin, but the illumination reveals to Cico a difference in the pit floor just by the opposite end. It seems to him to be some sort of pressure plate covering the furthest 5ft of the pit.

Cico turns his head from side to side to catch the light on the other side of the pit. When he's sure he points it out to the others.
"Pressure plate," he says. "Best not to step on it."
He then goes to the edge of the pit, slides himself around, lowers his body down, his arms fully stretched out and places his feet down carefully, avoiding the spikes.
(Not sure he needs a roll - this was just a 10' pit, yes? But if so: Acrobatics: 26 or Athletics: 4 ).
"I can go across and check the other side, before we decide this is the way we should go," Cico says, continuing across the pit and up the otherside before anyone has a chance to say anything.
(OOC - Cico was trying to make his way across the bottom of the pit, avoiding the pressure plate, and climbing up the other side - if he succeeded, he'll respond to Edvord, if something else happened will wait on that)
The pit walls are pretty smooth, though there's enough for Cico to get a handle. This isn't his first rodeo. Avoiding the spikes and approaching the pressure plate at the end, he can see a narrow path he can walk on to avoid it granting access to the pit wall on the opposite side.
(Yes it's athletics btw unless you have a particularly acrobatic way of climbing).
On the other side, the silver door seems sturdy. Geometric circles of varying sizes have been engraved in the silver and there is a prominent keyhole.
Looking back, a parallel path seems to lead back to the same hallway you came from. The stone walls are painted with a skyscape, featuring all manner of flying creatures from Rocs to bumblebees. Lighting arcs between copper rods placed along the hall 15ft from the ground.
Cico looks at the copper rods and electricity arcing down the parallel hallway, then back to the spikes in this hallway.
"Wemade the right choicein doors" Cico says.
He then points out the pathway that avoids the pressure plate.
"Lower each other down that side and I can assist you on this side," Cico says. "Don't step on the plate."
Cico gets the coil of rope back out and lowers one end down into the pit. Then he looks for somewhere to anchor the other end. Does the door with the key hole have a sturdy looking handle? If so he'll tie one end to that. He's not worried about the little ones, but if Aldrik slips while climbing Cico may not be able to take the full weight.

Edvord nods back to Cico in response to his sound plan. Taking Aldrik's hand the major carefully jumps down into the pit and begins traversing across. "I have no intention of remaining behind... lest another Lyss incident occurs..."

Cico watches as several of the party struggle with the sides of the pit. He then checks the rope to see if there's anything wrong with it, any oil that's somehow gotten into the fibers.
He lies down on the ground and holds a hand out to those trying to get up wondering if that will help any more than just the rope.

As Kerri climbs down, she loses grip on the wall, only just being saved from being impaled by Aldrik’s bracing at the bottom. She takes 5 piercing damage as the spike nicks her through her robes.
Edvord looks awkward as he grips Cico’s rope. As graceful as his movements are, he seems to be overthinking the climb and the rope slides through his hand as he lurches down towards a spike, scraping along a spike. 4 piercing damage
"Perhaps we focus more on being safe?" Kerri suggests.

With the addition of the bright light, Cico looks a little more closely at the floor around the pit and down into it for any signs of other traps.
19 (assuming just one more roll to handle the advantage situation)

Edvord watches as the monk continues his way across the pit. "What are you thinking Cico? String a rope across the top? Disarm the pressure plate?"
The mage looks over his shoulder back into the previous room, "How is Lyss looking?"
