Cico's scan of the stairs comes up empty, and thankfully his climb is uneventful. Through the door lies what seems to have once been a luxurious waiting room, filled with overstuffed couches, a fine rug and a table covered in newspapers. The wear on the furniture indicates that the place is very old, though the room seems well looked after for it's age. The wisp hovers in front of a door to the right, whilst another door ahead leads straight over. He's in here, the doors a little stuck though. It's been a good while since anybody has attempted the alley, let alone get this far.
Edvord, you sense no new magic in the room, but from the other side of the door behind the wisp you are getting tingles . Aldrik’s sword seems to be giving off no aura other than it’s enchantment, and the wisp, though expectedly giving off a Necromancy aura seems to radiate magic in a way you have never sensed before. It is potent, like the air around it is thick and heavy with magical energy.
Cico notices a paper with todays date, Kythorn 10 1492DR. You also notice some papers with what seem to be utterly made up dates, Flocktime, Dravago, Mokosh, seem to be the months. And the dates are wildly different.
From beyond the door, Cico hears a faint voice “Entertain me”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cico looks at the Wisp and frowns.
"This wizard sits in there for long periods of time just saying entertain me?" Cico says, then turns and raises his eyebrows at the others. "This is a trap of some sort but I'm not sure what kind. The Wisp likely gets some reward for bringing us here. Perhaps its own freedom. There is a voice on the other side but it's odd."
He looks back at the Wisp.
"Could the entertainment be putting you out of your misery?"
Cico checks the door itself for traps and if he finds none, he will open it wide and see what's inside.
Edvord relays the magical auras he senses, both behind the door and from the wisp, to the party. He then whispers to Aldrik, "Destroying a wisp could be construed as entertaining... at least I would relish it..."
The Wisps voice shifts from it's previously friendly tone, deepening and becoming a lot more candid. "Your idea of entertainment is somewhat morbid.... not that I can judge. Of course my intentions are not altruistic, but perhaps they align for now."
The door itself doesn't seem trapped, but it is jammed shut requiring a little shove to open, cracking the wood as you do so. It swings open to reveal a trashed room, filled with broken vials and torn pages. Scrawled on the wall in the chaotic handwriting of a madman is the phrase "Utter Madness, PURE RUBBISH" In the centre stands the wizard, or at least a statue of him. In solid bronze, you see the blue robed man you chased here, a cheeky grin across his face as he points at the doorway with finger guns. The wisp lets out an audible groan. A plaque at the bottom reads "Who roams the planes, but is never plain, makes and does a-maze, loads his halls, with lightning and balls, creates the cities newest craze."As you read you notice the statues eyes shift to focus on you.
The voice sighs, “Well, clearly she’s well red but neither of you are well read. The plaque, answer it. I’m not supposed to talk until you do. You’re ruining the moment! I’ll give you a clue, it’s me”

Lyss has probably seen most of the statues in public places, and a fair number not in the public, she thinks to whether this statue guy looks like anything she's familiar with.

Cico acknowledges the need for rest for others and hope this hasn't all been a mistake.
His index fingers rub his thumbs rapidly several times.
Before he takes a step on the stairs, he gives them a quick look for traps.

If he finds nothing, he'll continue up them.

Cico calls back down the stairs to the others.
"Safe so far."
Then he moves to the table and looks at the newspapers, looking to see if they're recent or not.
He'll then go listen at the door the wisp is indicating.

Is Edvord sensing any new magical auras in the waiting room?

When Cico hears the words 'Entertain me' he cocks his head to the side and then looks back to see if Aimee and Lyss are there.
He then looks at the Wisp.
"If no one has been in there for a long time, who's talking?"
"That's him, Keilier! I hope you have something special to keep him entertained."

Aimee yells from the door,
"What's going on? How trapped is it? Oh, Wispy I like this voice way more!"
Kerri scowls at the statue. "Do you think, that this. Is. Funny?" Her voice has gone deathly quiet once again.

The statues eyes glance down to the plaque, then back up to Kerri. You hear the echo of a throat being cleared.
You hear the wisp whisper “Quick, the cleaners will be here soon.”

Cico looks around for signs of cleaners. Given the mess, they clearly haven’t been in this room with the statue.
He looks to Kerri, and even with his limited ability to read emotion on others he gets the impression she’s angry.
”Don’t let the door close on me.” Cico says.
He then steps into the room and faces the statue directly.
”What do you want?”
The voice sighs, “Well, clearly she’s well red but neither of you are well read. The plaque, answer it. I’m not supposed to talk until you do. You’re ruining the moment! I’ll give you a clue, it’s me”
