Sorry all - was out of town this week and usually I can sneak some time to post but it was busier than I'd anticipated. My apologies for going dark for a few days.
Cico has moved along with the others but he's lost in his own thoughts. Did he actually hear a voice in his head? Was it the unicorn?
<Are you the unicorn? Are you a real unicorn trapped in this form?> he thinks, trying to project his thoughts to the voice, not ready yet to tell the others. But he does nod at Aimee when she suggests door 2.
The door swings open, revealing a large room with red brick walls. a platform juts out in front of the door, but the rest of the room is merely a pit of seemingly endless smoke. Hanging from the ceiling from sturdy iron chains are seven circular metal disks, 6ft in diameter in a line like platforms though the gaps between each seems precarious. Obscured by the discs there is a source of light at the end of an eighth chain, like cold moonlight. A barred window is at the far end of the room.
Cico:
The voice projects into your mind again "My name is Primara, and yes I was once a real unicorn. How I long for my old body back. You won't... take me back will you?"
Edvord casts light on a copper coin and tosses it towards one of the circular metal discs, hoping to illuminate the disc more clearly. After the coin disappears, the mage takes out a second coin, once again casts the spell light on the second copper coin and drops it into the pit in front of him, attempting to ascertain how deep the pit is.
(You quite literally throw money at every problem)
The light passes over a few of the discs and you get a better look at them. They are hung by the chain in the middle, and though sturdy enough to support someones wait, it would certainly be a little wobbly. (Not sure what else you were looking out for on the discs?)
The second coin falls into the smoke and it’s light is smothered. A few moments later you hear a cling as it hits the floor. There is certainly an end to this pit. (Feel free to make investigation for an estimate)
The unicorn’s voice responds “I hope so… It was a wizard who changed me, surely his magic could be reversed?”
As Cico leans out as far as he can he speaks back over his shoulder, answering Lyss.
"Her name is Primara," Cico says matter-of-factly. "She says a wizard trapped her in this form. I do not know if Mirt is a wizard. But to place such value on his statue suggests he may know the truth."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I think Mirt's more a roguish type, the kind to offer you a rose with one hand and approach with a dagger in the other. Though in his adventuring and politicking days, he's surely ran across his fair share of wizards. Wonder if it were trapped as such before it came into his possession, or if he even knew? Perhaps it was a gift for his late wife, the memory of whom is why he treasures it so?"
Aldrik ponders, thinking on what courtly knowledge and rumors he might know on the subject.

"Regardless, Cico's right. If that's real, sentient unicorn in there, it should not be left trapped as some display or status piece." He looks to his new sword. "Such things are meant to be free to achieve their purpose."
Religion: 6 -- knowledge of unicorns?
"I've one purpose left here, but I'll trust you all to guide my blade to be in position. I'm not good at these sorts of puzzles. We owe this wizard a thrashing for the lives claimed by this place, if we can find a way to him..."
"How'dja know that about the unicorn, can you talk to it? Hi Primara, I'm Lyss! Did the Mirt make you a statue? You don't like being a statue, do you. If I could be a unicorn, I'd want to be the kind that can run around too, I'd make a bad statue.", Lyss rambles.

"I get to look in the potion room!"
Yep.. map in discord.
1 - Path underneath bridge between building by the sticky stairs, moonlight shining through a barred window at the end.
2 - Door leading to the north from the hallway you left,
3 - Room leading out of room with all the piles of gold that Cico left behind

"Looks safe!"

Cico only absently pays attention to the room they’ve just found, very distracted by the voice in his head.

<No. I will not let you remain captive. Is there a way to free you?>
"Huh! No writing in here! Who wants to go in? Do we want to go in?"
"Any idea how far down that goes?", Lyss asks, peering down at the smoke pit.

<Do you know the name of the wizard who did this to you?> Cico thinks to the unicorn. <That might help.>
After a beat.
<What is your name?>
Cico then looks around at the others.
"The unicorn is alive but trapped, transformed into this statue. Mirt cannot have the statue back."
He then notices the room and the discs.
"Is there something on the other side of the room?" Cico leans in as far as he can while holding on to the door frame to get a better look.
"Wait, what? That's a real unicorn?! Did Mister Mirt do that to it?"

"We'll get you out of there, or whatever, Primara! I'm Aimee!"
She has forgotten about the room.

Aimee keeps petting and whispering sweet, sweet things to the unicorn.
