Unfortunately, the DC for that one is pretty high.
Sarith hisses under his breath “Never, foul human.”
For now we assume that changes nothing in the guard’s reaction, and the encounter is now over as the Drow leave.
The other prisoners begin to regather as it seems temporary peace once again was restored, and begin whispering to each other about the events of the past 5 minutes.
Rian sighs deeply and pushes the drow away. What was he expecting in the first place? There was no way the dark elf would help a foul surface dweller like him.
He turns back to the prisoners in the cell.
"Well, we'll have to wait even longer for another opportunity like that. Please, just don't fight each other in the future."

Syvis' eyes flash in the low light as she calmly walks back to her corner. Seemingly unperturbed by the events of the last few minutes, she quietly says, "The opportunities will present themselves. If the drow owes his allegiance to the grave, his master shall he meet." She looks to Rian, "In the meantime, I need to be certain who can be relied upon when the time comes. It would have been a travesty to have the opportune moment come only for that one to become a stumbling block. Wouldn't you agree, sir knight?"She flashes a smile that seems as if it could be the first genuine expression she has let slip since her arrival two days ago.
Thodek watches the drow as they leave, speaking softly to the others, "It may have been possible to ambush them as they came to break up a fight, but they'd have been armed and on their guard. Perhaps it would be better to put those sticky fingers to use on a work detail and we can sneak out without them standing right here."
After she is sure the guards are out of earshot, Voyage turns to Rian. "I can tell you've never started a fight in yer life, matey. First rule of starting trouble is never pick a fight you can't win. In this pen, right now, we can't win. We need an edge. Information, or weapons, or hells, even a key. Like the dwarf fella says, everyone should just keep their eyes open and look for opportunities to get a weapon or something useful. Some of us...ones they want to humiliate in particular, are bound to be pulled out for special attention sooner or later. That gives us our chance." She sighs. "We need to be prepared. For the escape and everything after."
She comes over to Shushaar. "Excuse me, old one. Your village --you mentioned Dark Lake? Do you think they we would be able to get supplies there if we did manage to escape? I must confess, I do not think your people take kindly to strangers. ESPECIALLY surface dwellers."
Looking at the retreating drow and together with them, the opportunity to escape, Nicholas feels the tension leave his body. They wait once again.
Approaching Thodek he asks, “What is the routine about here? Do they put us to work or keep us in here to rot?”
Thodek will fill her in on what he knows, which I assume to be just what was in the first page of posts, “Perhaps on one of these work details we can manage to get a key or weapons. Or maybe talk to the guards and see if they let anything slip that we could use?”
Shuushar nods solemnly. “I will admit that I am not sure how my people will react to visitors, but Darklake could offer many resources and shelter if we indeed found ourselves there.”
And so life continues in the slave pen. For the most part, things return to what you now know as normal.
However, something of interest does happen the next day, as Jorlan passes out the bowls of mush you have come to know as lunch.
As he stands by the bars of the pen passing those nearby bowls of lunch, he utters the words “If I could give you a means to escape from here, would you take it?”
With his scarred face and twisted appearance, it is obvious why this defeated looking Drow has fallen out of favor with Ilvara

Rian's eyes gloss as a painful memory comes to him of a certain fight before. He shakes his head and mutter, "It is the duty of servants of the Light to end fights, not start them. But what would you care, in this land of forever darkness..."
He returns to waiting in the corner of the cell. However, when Jorlan arrives the next day, he's intrigued.
"Why would you want to help us?"

Cailean's muscles tense, his fingers curled around the bowl in his hands. Why would one of their captors offer a means of escape? Was this a trap for them? Still.... some of these others appear to be capable should it be true. This... might just be the chance they need.
He shifts closer as the others voice their questions, waiting to see how the drow responds.
“Let’s just say I have nothing else to lose. And if Shoor and Ilvara are disgraced in the process then so be it,“ Jorlan says with a dark grin.
“Tomorrow. I’ll leave the pen unlocked, and create a distraction during next guard change,” he proposes quietly.
“I could care less what you do with this opportunity just know that the armory is over there,” he whispers pointing subtlety to the large stalactite across the cavern. “Whatever you do, the best means of escape will be jumping down to the webs below, and the pool of water afterwards.”
Thodek smiles at the drow, "I see, well, the blessings of Moradin be with you, if you'll have them." Turning back to the rest of the group, with another attempt at a grin, in common this time, "Well, things are finally starting to look down for us," rubbing his hands together excitedly, "Looks like we're about to get our chance. I think heading for the armory is a good idea, surviving down here isn't something to be taken lightly, and we'll need equipment. Once we're clear of here, I have a few spells I can still use, and if I can recover my amulet, even more. Do any of the rest of you have anything in particular to help us get out of here?"
Voyage nods vigorously to Thodek, looking excited about this first real lead. "I have spells as well. More if I can retrieve a certain bottle that was taken from me. Even if we don't I should be able to create a heavy fog to obscure our escape. Provided we are all able to stay together."
She addresses the Drow now. "Is our equipment in the armory? And if you were somehow able to obtain your counterpart Shoor's wand for us, I reckon that would look even worse for your mistress and her...uh, whatever he is."
She looks at the others in the cage. "How many of you can fight?" She looks at the big Quaggoth and the Ront the Orc in particular, both of whom have been quiet thus far. "We're going to need everyone who can swing a sword or axe to do their bit. The two of you are the biggest boys in here. Are you planning on joining us or does that fancy lady have you cowed already?"
Cailean eyes the drow, nodding once slowly. Spite is a powerful motivator to hurt others, one Cailean knows well, and it seems that this time it may be working in his favor. He inclines his head to Thodek and answers quietly, "I have a few spells at my disposal as well. If I can recover a focus or some components, my options will increase as well. Primarily healing, though I do have some capability in a fight, should it come to that."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Syvis steps forward, briefly resting a reassuring hand on Rian's shoulder as she whispers, "The opportunities always present themselves, young sir knight," as she continues further forward to the cluster at the front of the cell.
Syvis studies Jorlan's expression and tone as she reviews what she knows of the drow from observations over the last three days in an attempt to determine if he's genuine about this offer or if it's some sort of ploy at their expense.
”Ah,” Jorlan says. “Though I can’t be certain, I would assume Ilvara has given any magical trinkets to Shoor, and he most likely keeps them somewhere in his quarters.”
Jorlan finishes collecting the bowls form everyone before slowly walking away from the slave pen. “Tomorrow,” he whispers.
"So, then," Syvis begins as she turns to address the group, "It seems that we, collectively, need to get to both the armory and the consort's quarters before making our escape. An all-out raid on one or both locations seems irresponsible, at best. That leaves stealth as the better option. The question is, 'Do we send an individual operative to retrieve what is ours and return or do we hope that such a large group will pass unnoticed?'" She raises as eyebrow as she regards each, in turn, and waits for their feedback.
Unfortunately, the DC for that one is pretty high.
