"If there is no nearby exit to the surface and no help for young Stool to be had in this place, we should rest and be on our way to Blingdenstone," Syvis says in her usual monotone.
“Blingdenstone? Ah. It will be nice to return there.”Shishakli says, adding, “Though first we need to report what we’ve done here. The people must know what was happening in their city.”After picking up his arrows he begins to make his way back down to find their guide to report that there had been a demon being summoned.
Ok, so after regrouping the party begins to make their way back to the ‘safety’ of the cavern where the rest of our ragtag group waits. Thanks to Shishalki, there really isn’t any trouble finding your way back, but the trip is noticeably slower due to the strain of the battle. On top of that, traveling through the deserted areas of Neverlight Grove, it is oddly quiet. There is usually a faint mumble of sound at the edges of your conscious here, but that is gone. You also can’t shake the feeling of being watched, though when you search for the source of this feeling there is nothing to be found.
Eventually you find your way back to the cavern and are greeted with smiles for your return. Jimjar, Basidia, and Derendil all make their way over, and it is Jimjar who speaks. “So, did you succeed?” The gnomes asks somberly.
Thodek nods slowly, "We believe so. The one at the heart of this is dead, but it may be some time before the demonic influences have left the area entirely. We need to get to the surface and try to warn people of what is going on down here."
"We have now encountered two active demon lords in our short time in the Underdark. A single such event may occur once in a hundred lifetimes. Two in such close proximity within such a short time, especially by mortal standards, is concerning to say the least. It would be difficult, and potentially hazardous, to not draw some sort of connection between them," Syvis replies.
"Agreed. We can only hope that whatever it is that is occurring down here can be contained and will not spread to the surface," Nicholas agrees with a grave look on his face, he then turns to the others, "What of Stool? How is he? Has there been any improvement?"

"If something is invading the Dark,"Shishakli says seriously, looking to the other gnomes, "We should make haste to Blingdenstone. The people there must be warned."
"Then we are agreed. Let us rest and implore upon Basidia for what supplies can be spared for our journey. We should set out as soon as we are able," Syvis says as she shifts her weight from one leg to the other uncomfortably.
Thodek nods his agreement, "Yes, we must warn those here as well. But we must be on our guard, this is the second major settlement to be affected by these things, we can only hope the next isn't so unfortunate."
Basidia nods at this influx of information. “Yes, good, good. So, your plan will be to head to Blindgenstone next? And you believe it is safe to return to the grove?” The sovereign asks.
Derendil then pipes up. “Stool is doing great! Hasn’t done much of anything, but at this point does appear to be conscious, just tired.” The quaggoth says with a smile. “At this point, rest would be best for the healing process, but from what you’ve said, it seems as though that might not be an option… how soon did you want to leave?” He asks.
Basidia then follows this up. “And yes, should you need to leave quickly, I’m afraid there isn’t much we can provide other than food and prayers, but you’re welcome to stay in the grove as long as you need. We may even be able to care for the child if Stool would inhibit your travel… if you wish…” the large myconid finishes, trailing off.
Thodek nods, "I think we should at least take a bit to rest and resupply her before heading onward. As for Stool, I agree, its probably best that he remain with his people, though I'm uncertain if the grove is safe. The demons may be gone, but their presence may take time to fade away."
"I think the immediate danger in the grove has past, but I would caution you to be on guard incase the demon's influence lingers," Nicholas suggests, "I agree we should take some time to rest and resupply. I think we all need it after that fight."

Syvis nods and echoes the sentiment. "Indeed. Stool will do best with their own people. Let us rest the night and gather what food and water we can for our journey before moving on."
Basidia nods. “If that is what you wish. So, we will rest here for a time and then say our goodbyes.” The sovereign comments before giving a small wave and turning back to join the rest of the displaced myconid who watch on for this conversation expectantly.
So, the time is now yours… any RP, or things we need to take care of? You may also take a long rest, and everyone can level up to level 4! Once everyone is ready, we can move on and continue with the start of travel to Blingdenstone. What would you like to do?
"I have spent some time considering your blessings in the ways of crafting as well as the workings of this drow weapon I have used since our escape. I have a few modifications that I would humbly request your assistance in making, should you be willing. The changes should extend the stock, making it more stable, as well as reinforce the lath, providing more power. Would you mind spending time working with me this evening before we rest?"
Ostensibly making the hand crossbow into a light crossbow. Losing out on 50gp from the exchange but I don't imagine we'll run into an armorer before Blingdenstone and it's a long road between here and there...
Thodek nods slowly, "I should be able to craft something like that for you, but I'm not sure of the best method. We've got the day to rest, it should be plenty of time to work it out."
(Artisan's Blessing says I have to lay out metal to craft something, I've got enough gold left to just make a light crossbow, the question is whether I can convert the hand crossbow back into more gold.)
(I'm assuming the hand crossbow [worth 75gp] has at least 25gp worth of metal in it to basically just convert it directly into the light crossbow. If we need more, I can throw in my +0 Shortsword of Notusing™ [10gp].)
