“We are on the same boat on that regard, friend. I also think it’s a noble cause to help those who can not fight for themselves, and I make that my main goal in life. And my companions here are also good hearted people. Why don’t you share a bit more with us? Maybe we can help us mutually?” Says Muharg, his demeanour considerably more diplomatic now.
"Well, as you have might have heard," Raggamel begins. "There are movements of creatures down from the Spine. They wander into Ten-Towns sometimes and they need to be driven back. Which is fine for Bryn Shander, Targos or maybe even Easthaven, they can take care of themselves for the most part. The others, they would fall easily to most threats from the Spine. Even then, sometimes, a person might go missing from Bryn Shander, Targos or Easthaven. The lawmen won't go after a missing person, nor around here. Too dangerous.
So I step in to do the jobs that they won't do."

"I think we have helping those who can't help themselves in common," Shad says. "If you don't mind, give us an example? Describe the last job you did?" He tries to be persuasive and build on the goodwill Muharg has created: 9.
Muharg nods at Shad’s words “That’s right. And an example would indeed be helpful so we can have a better chance to help others too. What I don’t understand, however, is why would anyone be after you just for helping out?” He says. “Unless they are the ones causing the marauders to come down from the spine... or at least getting some benefit from it...” Adds scratching his beard, as he thinks out loud.
"Well,"Raggamel beings. "There has been reports of a monster of some sort terrorising the fishermen of Bremen. Meanwhile, rumours have come from Lonelywood about sighting of an evil moose."
At that last statement, Raggamel shrugs his shoulders,
"The people around these parts often let their imagination get carried away. It's not always easy to separate truth from fiction."

"The lawmen of Ten-Towns," Raggamel repeats with a hint of frustration in his voice. "It's as simple as that. Honestly, all I'm guilty of is being a vigilante. Vigilantism is not allowed by law."

"Lawmen," Shad says, "we don't need no stinking lawmen. Nice smelling ones, maybe." He looks toward the sky, then toward a sunny spot in the room, trying to guess how the Cat Lord would feel. "Vigilantism might be a nice break from deliveries. I'm not saying we use the items we were supposed to deliver to do good for these people that can't help themselves or anything. Nope. But, you know. A break."
“But you’re just hunting down beasts coming down from the Spine! I swear laws make no sense sometimes!” Grumbles Muharg.
”Anyways, should we go back down and get our dinner?” Asks to his companions.
”Not sure about a break, we’re on duty after all, but helping as much as we can along the way, and even take a diversion to do it... I don’t see why not. We need to make those deliveries, but no one said they were specifically urgent.” Points out at Shad’s suggestion.
Qinfaren smiles at the agreement to go get some food.
"Everything is always much clearer once you've a full stomach and had a bit of sit down," Qinfaren says. "I wonder what kind of beer they get up this far north."
As he heads out of the room, with a nod to Raggamel, he scratches the side of his head.
Arogna waits for Raggamel to pay for the delivery, then tramps heavily after the others. "I hope this oughta cover it. Tell you what, the pay ain't all that great for deliverin'. Or maybe it's the way I manages it ain't all that great."
"Dinner and drink sounds good. It is always nice to have a warm fire to rest our legs by," Bjorn then lets out a chuckle as he over hears Arogna, "Well Arogna, if you perhaps drank a little less you would have more of that pay left behind."

Shad's stomach turns and growls. "Dinner!" he says. "An excellent idea. I wonder if they have fish?" He will turn with the others towards the bar. "Helping others along the way sounds like a good plan," he says to Muharg, "as does wandering the city after we eat? Bjorn what do you know about this town? Is the next delivery close by? Artus Cimber or Jarlaxle Baenre? But we weren't sure which town they might be in. Could be this one."
Arogna laughs good-humoredly at Bjorn's remark. "Yeah, you're prob'ly right, bowman. I gotta be careful or I'll go home with nothin' to show, an' then they mightn't believe I was anywhere at all."
You return back downstairs to the main part of Kelvin's Comfort. The atmosphere is a little more relaxed as the merriment has died down. However, the human woman and halfling woman that was noticed earlier remain.
Ogden gives you a look as he notices you enter the room, but seems relieved to see that you have returned without hearing too much commotion. He charges you three silver pieces for each meal and four copper pieces for each mug of ale.
Muharg chuckles at the situation, and once downstairs approaches the bar. “Hey Ogden! Thanks for leading us to Raggamel, delivery complete! Not without a bit of a struggle, but all is set now. Could we have sone dinner over at the booth by the fireplace? Roasted meats, and fish if you have some. And your special ale four our tall furry friend there.”
Once at the table and with full bellies, Muharg will start telling about his hometown. “Long story short, I had a happy youth. My family run a humble smithy in a farming town, we made good quality tools, and where loved members of the community. At one point, a greedy tyrant took over power over town, and people were put under a lot of pressure to be able to pay the taxes. Afer a couple of months failing to pay taxes in full, the lord came to town with some of his men and tortured the people, young and old, healthy and sick... That day I decided to leave town and try to make enough money to get my family out of that hell, to try and spread gooness everywhere I could and fight for those who can not do it for themselves.... and to eventually come back and get my vengeance on that obnoxious man.”
He then pauses for a while “It’s been a while I’m not so sure about that last part. What good would come from an act of vengeance? And after meeting all of you my doubts are even stronger. I feel better helping and protecting others than actually punishing wrong-doers, and I sense the time for me to take my final oath as a paladin is coming, and whatever tenets I was once so sure to commit to are not that clear now.” He then looks directly at Shad with a concerned smile “That’s why I’ve been a bit absentminded recently... I need to clear my head, and my heart so I’m ready to take my vows.”
"That's interesting," Shad says. "Tell us more. Why, specifically, are you called a vigilante? Why a hero?"

"What else can I say?" says Raggamel. "I help those in need when they ask. It's as simple as that."
