Chilling Adventures in the North

(Puppeting Ricky)

Ricky prepares a bolt in his crossbow.

Qinfaren continues moving as a spider through the room where the duergar were, looking to get around behind them if he can.

     Bàn isn't sure she is technically an enemy or not, but Bàn knows he needs to shut her up as quickly as possible.  "Shush!" he shouts in a whisper, thrusting a hand out and pointing towards her.  Owl bolts out towards the woman using it's reaction to deliver the spell Bàn has cast - Inflict Wounds.

Inflict Wounds attack: 10 to hit...  18 Necrotic damage if it does, which I doubt...

     Owl will then use it's flyby feature to fly back to Bàn without provoking an opportunity attack.

(I am ruling that Owl wouldn't be able to fit through the arrow slit to reach the woman on the other side of the wall.)

((oops, ok... Then Bàn would have used eldritch blast instead which would have made the attack roll an 11 instead of a 10, damage a whopping 1 if that hits.))

(That you can do but she's behind three-quarter cover.)

Bàn fires an Eldrich Blast in the direction of the dwarf, but with her being behind the wall, the blast completely misses its target.

Then suddenly nine duergar, including one duergar woman, comes running around the corner, weapons in hand.

((So we still in the Bjorn, Ricky, Qinfaren, Bàn initiative order or where do they fall in?))

(They are coming in last.)

"Attack," Bjorn orders Blue before firing from his longbow.

(Attack: 25 Damage: 10 piercing damage.)

Blue rushes over and bites the female duergar.

(Attack: 16 Damage: 1 piercing damage + 2 cold damage.)

(Was Qinfaren-Spider able to scramble around behind the duergar, wow, 9 of them)

(Yeah, Qinfaren climbed through the arrow slit and is now behind them.)

Qinfaren-spider gets within 15' of the duergar, waves two of his tiny arms in a pattern that looks like a clap and then a shove. If any one was close to the spider, they would hear a tiny squeak, and then a boom of thunder as a force wave rips forward into as many duergar as Qinfaren can catch in a 15' cube.

Casts: Thunderwave - 19  thunder damage and pushed 10' into the closest wall - DC 15 Con save to take half and not move 

   Bàn, on his turn, will once against try using Owl to deliver an Inflict Wounds spell upon the lead duergar, hoping that a quick brutal attack upon them may get them to thinking their number superiority is truly an advantage.

1st lvl Inflict Wounds at lead Duerar:  12 to hit, 14 necrotic damage then Owl uses flyby to scoot out of their range.

(@Thoradin Druids cannot cast spells whilst in wild form until level 18.)

((I’m sure you leveled us up from 4 to 18 - how about we edit that and Qinfaren will change back to his Firbolg self before casting the spell - that only needs a bonus action))

Bjorn fires his bow, but the arrow strikes harmlessly against the duergar woman's armour.

Blue does manage to scramble over and bite her on the ankle sinking his sharp teeth into her flesh.

Ricky fires his crossbow but misses.

Qinfaren transforms back into his regular self before blasting the gathered duergar from behind. The spell causes the group to stumble forward as they take damage.

Bàn attempts to use Owl to attack one of the duergar but misses.

With eight duergar remaining upright, they move to attack.

One duergar throws his javelin at Owl.

(Attack: 19 Damage: 7)

Another throws his at Bàn

(Attack: 13 Damage: 6)

Two duergar turn and swing their war picks at Qinfaren.

Another duergar swings his war pick at blue.

Another throws his javelin at Bjorn.

Two throw their javelins at Ricky

"Attack," Bjorn orders Blue before firing from his longbow.

Blue rushes over and bites the female duergar.

(Attack: 10 Damage: 5 cold damage.)

(Puppeting Ricky)

Ricky fires an arrow at one of the duergar.

(Attack: 18 Damage: 6)

Qinfaren slams his staff down against the ground, a crack of thunder leaping out from it at the same time.

(Casts thunderwave again - 7  thunder damage to all the duergar in a 15' area DC 15 Con save to take half - if fail save, also pushed 10' away from Qinfaren - preferably into a wall)

     Feeling overwhelmed Bàn feels he either has to do as much damage as possible or get the hell out of here... But as the others seem to have chosen to fight there seems no choice at all.

     Bàn rushes to the closest two duergar and casts Inflict Wounds on each - The first with his normal action, the second by using two sorcery points to quicken the spell to a Bonus Action and to cast it again on the other target.  

Inflict Wounds on 1st Target:  17 to hit for 21 damage

Inflict Wounds on 2nd Target:  12 to hit for 10 damage...

     IF the 12 misses, Bàn uses his Favored by the Gods feature on the attack roll to add 2d4 to it making it:  18 to hit 

(Bjorn, Ricky, Qinfaren, Bàn, Duergar)

Qinfaren blasts all of the duergar with his spell. His spell causes all of the duergar to go flying.

Bàn then rushes and finishes two of the duergar in rapid succession. This leaves six remaining duergar.
