The householders have fled in fear of their safety.
You stand amongst houses that continue to burn, whilst others are just the smouldering remains of what once stood there. The fires having had burned themselves out. It is quiet in this part of town with no one else around. It begins to snow, and you see more of the dust like effect on your clothing.

Shad says. "I do think we need to find the forge, assuming we will be safe there." He pull his coats tighter around his torso and loosens a dagger in its sheath. "Farther east, or a quick break first?"
OOC: I'm glad the spell was useful, Qinfaren! Just double checking my spell slots.
Muharg puts his hand on his chest and a warm faint light emerges from his hand. “I really hope you lads are right about the forge. Something doesn’t feel right to me. Let’s get there and we’ll see”
You continue through the eastern neighbourhoods towards the forge, as you continue the snows starts to fall more heavily. Reducing your vision slightly, then you come upon a market place that seems to have been abandoned. Many of the wooden stalls have burns marks darkening the wood. Others are just smoking piles of ash. It is apparent that mephits have already attacked this area.
Then you suddenly see four glowing orbs rising out from behind one the burned down stalls. The lights rise up into the air and then hover in place.

DM Note: I'm going to roll for Bjorn and Shad to keep things moving Bjorn: 19 (Perception) Shad: 6 (Perception)
As the lights continue to hover above the ground you watch them carefully. Though you are wary of the lights, not sure what their origin is. As the rest of you are distracted by the lights, Bjorn and Qinfaren notice as four smoke mephits rise up from behind one of the stalls in the marketplace. Bjorn and Qinfaren's sharps eyes manage to spot their movement behind the glowing lights, but the rest of you are caught off guard.
DM Note: Everyone but Bjorn and Qinfaren are surprised.
Qinfaren watches the smokey ashy looking mephits float up in the air. He's too caught up in them, and how they look like the last mephits except charred that he forgets to warn the others that they're there.

Arogna tenses and grips her warhammer as the lights make the falling snow sparkle. "It's pretty, but I don't like it," she growls suspiciously.
"What in the..." Mutters Muharg as he readies his axe and shield and changes his pace into a more careful one.

”Yes. Pretty but quite unusual I would think. Why are they here?”
Qinfaren slows down like the others but also keeps approaching the lights.
Shad watches the lights. He will move stealthily toward them, seeking a place to hide among the rubble, but within 80 feet of the orbs: 19
