Bjorn baldy wounds one of the two remaining mephits, and is now on the verge of death. Muharg strikes the mephit that is closest to him, nearly finishing that one off as well.
The two remaining mephits are close to death and want to cause as much destruction as possible in their final moments.
The mephits swoop around to place themselves in the ideal formation. Then they both let out a stream of fire breath each, the reaches out for fifteen feet.
DM Note: Everyone dex saving throw.

Bjorn manages to completely avoid both streams of fire and escapes without being burnt. Arogna and Shad both drop to the floor and are only slightly singed. Qinfaren manages to escape most of the fire as he is singed. Unfortunately, Muharg's shield does very little in the way protecting himself from the fire and receives the full blast of fire.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The fiery breath of the mephits singe Qinfaren once again. The stress of the encounter triggers his firbolg instincts and he suddenly disappears. While invisible he quickly moves away from the mephits and heads 30' down the street.
He turns, facing the fight again, and selects the strongest looking of the two mephits, conjures a shard of ice out of the air and hurls it at the center of the mephit.
(Bonus Action - Hidden Step
Action - given how the mephits moved to get everyone into their breath areas, they must be more than 5' away from each of the party, right? In that case, he casts Ice Knife Attack: 10 Damage: 10 piercing damage and then hit or miss the mephit must make a DC 14 Dex Save. If it fails it takes an additional 10 cold damage, which I think they're vulnerable to so would be doubled)

After dodging the attack, Bjorn moves to put some distance between him and the mephits. Lifting his bow he takes aim and fires once again at the little winged devils.
Qinfaren casts Ice Knife, and a shard of ice is formed in the air before it is flung at one of the remains two mephits. The shard impacts with the mephit and hits it. The shard then splinters and icy sharpnel strikes the mephit killing it and further weaknening the other mephit. Bjorn raises his bow and fires an arrow killing the remaining mephit. All mephits are dead, and you can finally take a moment to catch your breath.

"Such angry little creatures," Qinfaren says with a sigh, rubbing the spot where he was burned. "Maybe they should move somewhere with less ice and snow if it's making them so irritated. It's a big world."
He looks around at the others.
"Is everyone okay?" he asks.
He brushes off some of the snow that got on his clothes when he tried to dodge the flames, and then admires the dusty pattern the snow makes on his gloved hand.
"This stuff is awfully cold, but I have to admit it's quite pretty. Now, should we keep going east to find Griggle?"
(OOC - I thought he did cast it. I think it turned out to be very necessary. Think he would have been unconscious after that combined breath attack the two mephits did if not)
Qinfaren watches the houses burn, seeing how the reflection of the flames dances across the snow and ice.
"I don't think there's much we can do for the buildings already on fire," he starts. "The snow and ice should keep the flames from spreading to other buildings though. And without the mephits staring more fires, the townspeople might be able to make headway against these flames."
And then he takes in the belabored breathing of Muharg.
"Maybe there's a pub on the way to Quiggle's and we can get you something to drink and have a nice bit of lunch."
"I think if we let the villagers know the mephits are gone, they can take care of the fires." Bjorn chimes in, "A drink sounds great right now, but before that. Didn't that lady say the forge was somewhere around here? Untouched by mephits?"

DM Note: Houses are on fire and there is no water source in the immediate vicinity. Though of course there's always the sea
