"Well that was something different," Bàn says, not letting his guard down quite yet. "I thought we'd be battling duergar, not devils or whatever the chunky crap he was..."
Assuming no further attacks or reappearing foes, Bàn will cautiously look around the room to see what such a being may have been defending or doing.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Qinfaren takes a look around the room for the mitre hat (perception 26 ) then takes a look a tthe tablets to see if he can figure any of it out (Arcana/Religion 9 )
"I don't know what they say, but they're Infernal. I can tell that much," Qinfaren says. "I guess the devils like this duergar plan."
He looks more closely at that hat, wondering if it was one of those ones he'd heard about that lets you change your appearance. The duergar priest became the spiney devil when he took the hat off.
"Infernal?"Bjorn asks. "I can't read that either. I wonder if Xardorok was aware that there was a devil in his own fortress? It seemed that the devil was in hiding, disguised as a duergar."
He then looks around the room looking at the large granite tablets.
"These are too big and too heavy to take with us. I guess we won't learn what is inscribed here. Come on, let's go."

"This does not look like an OSHA approved jobsite," Bàn shares. "Should we introduce ourselves, maybe ask to see their inspection records? See if the workers are unionized or not? Or do we want to quietly back out and move on elsewhere?"
Qinfaren moves around behind the devil priest if he can, smacking down with his staff.

The devil manages to fight the wolves and attempts to knock it down, but it looks a lot weaker now.
Not waisting a second, Bjorn swings his axe at Klondorn, before ordering Blue to attack.
(Attack: 11 Damage: 5 piercing + 1 cold damage.

Looking around Bàn sees the stacks of granite tablets placed around the room. Each tablet is covered in runes that he doesn't recognise.
"Hey," Bjorn speaks up. "Wasn't he wearing a hat which he took off? Where did that go?"

"I don't recognize the runes and certainly never saw any hat," Bàn points out. "So, on to the next room then?"
Qinfaren looks around the room and finds the mitre hat. He also recognises the runes as infernal inscripture.

"I... I can read infernal..." Bàn says, but the others have already moved on so Bàn shrugs and hurries up to follow.
(Bàn can read infernal?)

(As far as the other characters know? Sure. But we're moving on so doesn't matter really...)
Qinfaren tries on the hat.
Qinfaren tries on the hat, but nothing happens.
Bjorn leads the way back through the previous room, past the mind flayer, and opens the double doors.

Qinfaren directs the two dire wolves to stay behind the trio for now, but to be ready to fight if needed.
"Let's just find their leader, the father, and move on," Qinfaren suggests.
While no one is paying them any attention, Qinfaren looks for other doorways / hallways.
