Helena will be in the lead, following the tracks. She tries to block out the screams she can somehow still hear, and motions for Cedar to come up and help with a certain spot of tracks. He seemed to be more comfortable in the woods than she was. She missed her mountains, it was so much easier to see her target in the crags than in this overgrown hellhole.
Nolla would be to the front, helping Helena with her tracking of the trail. "We probably shouldn't go much further." She notes as the daylight starts to dwindle. "Shall we look for a good place to set up camp for the night?" She asks the others.
(What are Cedar and Jaesali doing as they travel?)
The party continues into the corrupted forest, trying their best to stay on the narrow path through the thick woods. After half an hour of traveling, the sun begins to set- darkness holds dominion once more. The blowing wind brings the scent of the sea spray- the Shore must be incredibly close.
But just before the party decides whether to stop for the night, Cedar spots something on the path. Standing right in the middle of the road is a life-sized statue of a kneeling figure. On closer glance, the seemingly humanoid depiction is sprouting gills and fish scales. It carries two small bowls in each hand, holding them above it's bowed head. Engraved in each bowl is a pile of coins, the other a few drops of some liquid. But the contents of the bowl makes the purpose of this structure clear. In the coin bowl, there is scattered pieces of treasure and jewelry. In the other bowl...fresh blood.
As the bandits had already passed through before, then this statue's demands are clear: gold or blood.

Jaesali looked over her shoulder at the buildings til they were out of sight. Her mind tries to create images for the sounds she heard but she doesn't let it.
She forces her attention on the party's surroundings as best she can, surprised when the sea air reaches her.
The surprise increases when she sees the statue. She reaches out to touch the gills and fin, then looks at the surrounding woods.
"Do they wait, to see that we do one or the other?"
Helena puts two gold in the cup, just thinking of their lost companion, and continues on, not wanting any of her blood in that bowl.
”Let’s travel for a few more minutes to get away from that. If you can’t see, tie yourself to someone who can. I’ll take one and we can hurry to find a place for now.”
Each of the party members pay tribute to the statue. An uneasy feeling falls over them as they each drop a gold coin into the treasure bowl, but the feeling subsides as they continue forward. Nothing out of the ordinary seems to occur.
As night falls, Tam ties himself to Helena. Nolla would also be blind in the dark. The rest of the party, though, can still see with some difficulty. Those with darkvision have disadvantage on Perception checks.
The Shore must be fast approaching. The sound of crashing waves and the smell of brine comes from down the path. But there's another sound too. A low, ominous sound of beating drums.

"I am as good as useless right now..." Nolla hisses to the others, attaching herself to the rope-chain. "Do we really want to go into an unknown camp when half of the group is not able to even see the nose on their own face?" She listens to the sounds of drums. "Plus we don't even know how many of them there are down there..."
"We should probably at least see what the drums are about. We might end up camping next to them and they will stumble into our camp while we're sleeping."

Tam will hang towards the back, not lagging but not wanting to be first either.

As Nola and Helena follow the tracks, they would be impressed with how recent they are. The bandits must be very close...

"Who watches? The bandits? Whatever made that thing?"
"I'd suggest we pay the toll..." Nolla says, fishing a gold piece from her coin pouch. She places it into the one cup, then moves past the statue.
Jaesali shrugs and does the same, her gaze circling around for any movement.
Tam does the same, not wanting to be left.

The surrounding forest is thick and inhospitable. Jaesali can't find anywhere that would serve as a good camping ground.
