"As is unfortunately often the case, we do not pray for an easy life, but pray for the strength to endure a difficult one," he says. "We shall return with Tanye."
He looks to the others, and nods to the door. He does not want to discuss their plans in front of the mayor.
He bows again to the mayor and then turns and leaves the office.
Helena follows behind until they get out of the building away from the guards.
”So, a small group of bandits on the Old Road heading back to their territory. We should head out immediately and look for tracks of a group heading that way yes?”
(As Nolla can't carry anything further, unless we should 'purchase' for the adventuring slot, then I am good to go. If she needs to purchase to fill that adventuring slot, then she'll stop and do so.)
"Yes, I'd say we best make for where the abduction happened as quickly as possible." Nolla agrees. She pushes some of her black hair behind her ear and waits to see if anyone else has a differing of opinion.
"Generally I would suggest that we make haste slowly," Caine begins." However, I believe we will have time to talk and plan on the way."
He arranges his pack on this back and ensures his weapons are within easy reach. He is ready.
"Bandits not raiding the easy pickings of the farms may suggest that either some of their number are drawn from those same farms or that the farmers support the efforts of the bandits. Either way I believe we should be careful what we say in front of strangers," he says." I am ready to leave when you are."
Fixing the straps on her equipment, Helena heads out onto the Old Road, and as they go, she’ll try to look for any markings of a larger party heading away from the town.

Tam doesn't say much but nods with Helena's assessment. He adds quietly,
"Maybe we should rush part of the way there? If someone near town is giving information to the bandits we might be better served to get ahead of them?"
Tam follows Helena out onto the road, keeping an eye out to see if anyone is paying more attention.

"I am good with forests." Nolla says with a nod to the others. "Been a scout in one of my jobs in the past and spent a lot of time out and about in forests." She shrugs as she pulls a lute from her pocket and starts to play a soft tune as they walk. The tune is soft and sad. As they reached the outskirts of town though she sighs and puts the lute away again. "I'll move ahead a bit and scout, if that works for the rest of you..." Without more than a glance to make sure the others agree, she would trot ahead a bit, her cloak swaying and black hair fluttering as she moves out from the town into the lands beyond.
(Assuming this is farmland around the town she would not do anything stealthy, as I doubt if there is any cover to be stealthy behind. I also believe we are trying to move at either a normal or fast pace, so that excludes her doing stealth regardless. Let me know if any of this is incorrect.)

While everyone else is looking out for anything amiss, Helena looks to the ground for tracks. She had an excellent memory for maps and geography (Outlander), so she was reasonably sure she could get them back to the town if need be. But for now she simply scanned the road for traces of their quarry.

Cedar nods at Nolla "I too am experienced in forestry. I will accompany you if that is acceptable" As he follows Nolla, he looks for any plants that could be used for medicinal purposes, as many pharmacies or temples pay well for medicine that is non-magical. (Survival 25, Perception 7)

Caine watches the others fan out and move forward down the road. He slows his pace to follow behind, watching their flanks and rear to avoid being surprised. If the bandits are watching, they will not attack head on.
The party exits the gates of Trishdale, setting off into the Corrupted Forest. Following the cobbles of the Old Road, they pass several impoverished-looking farms before becoming fully surrounded by the immense forest.
Nolla scouts ahead, but this close to town, no threats are to be seen. Helena tracks the road for traces of the bandits, but the old cracked cobbles give no sign of their passage- perhaps the bandits left the road at some point?
Cedar finds several medicinal plants; some of them which could be assembled into a Healer's kit. The Abbey would pay well for these. Caine and Jaesali watches the flank, but luckily nothing seems to be lurking behind them
After following the Old Road for about a day, the sun begins setting. The forest grows more insidious with the passing hours; it's near silent, absent of the natural noises of the birds and wildlife. A chill breeze blows past the party, and it's getting quite cold. However, Caine can spot a few miles in the distance some circling shapes in the sky. Birds? They would be first the party has seen in these woods. It would be only be a half-hour walk to investigate. But with night approaching, the party should maybe set up camp instead...

"What say you all?" Nolla says as darkness starts to creep around them. "Set up camp or continue?" She looks around the deepening dark and then to the companions. "I'd vote for camp, due to not wishing to get lost, and possibly seperated, in the night."

With a last look at the mayor Tam turns and follows Caine out.
"We'll do what we can." Nolla says, giving the mayor another smile and pat on his shoulder. She then follows the others out.
Helena follows behind until they get out of the building away from the guards.

She looks at the group for a confirmation.
(When you are ready to leave, please tell. If you’d like, you can make some purchases in town before you go.)

Jaesali is quiet and in the back as they talk to the mayor. She gives him a nod before following the others out.
"Does anyone remember that map on the wall? What kind of terrain are we heading to?"
Tam answers,
"Poorly drawn trees. Though the mayor said farmland, so maybe a blend of both?"
He is quiet a long time the says loudly enough for the group members nearest him to hear,
"I am...not good with forests. I'm sorry about that, but I hope someone of us has experience?"
He looks between his companions hopefully.
