After passing Alexa the coins, Marla steels herself and, preparing a Fire bolt in case of anything hostile, looks behind the ratty curtain in the east, and checks around the chair the Mind Flayer had been using - deferring looking in the direction of the Mind Flayer’s exit for now.
’There could be more prisoners down here...’ she says shortly, teeth clamped together to help master her courage - she’s heard enough stories about Illithids to, frankly, be screaming a little inside, especially given what just happened to Flowers...)

Alexa nods. "A very quick check in the rooms may be a good idea," she agrees. One hand on her symbol of Ilmater, she heads for the direction the mind flayer went in first, checking there before poking her head into the other rooms.
Note: Even if a room leads off somewhere, Alexa would not go into any rooms alone. If you need Perception or Inves, here they are:

Alexa is highly distracted, looking frequently over at Floon to make sure he doesn't keel over.
Jorah tugs on Alexa's shirt, giving her a look of concern when he noticed her self-pity at her....condition. Flaring his nostrils the small dragon pounds his chest with a free hand, "Friend-Alexa, not to blamez. Youz still stongerz than most...not Dragon though. Dragon still strongeszzt." After his small attempt at a pep talk, he gives a toothy grin before going to help look around with his more acute vision and skills.
As you all quickly search through the nearby rooms, you find that most of them (Q10) appear to be old cells with straw scattered on the ground and rusted manacles fixed to the walls.
In the middle of this otherwise empty room where the mind flayer disappeared (Q11) is a stone pillar carved with a small symbol: a perfect circle with ten equidistant spokes radiating outward from its circumference. In the middle of this circle is a smaller circular indentation that bears a passing resemblance to a lidless eye. To the northwest in this room is a small flight of stairs leading to what you imagine is an open secret door leading back to the sewers near where you can in. You can assume this is how the invisible dwarf was able to circle around and join up with his fellow gang members.
As you look through the rooms, Jorah finds a rough-hewn tunnel hidden beneath a loose flagstone. (secret door in Q8)
As Jen follows behind the group wishing they would just hurry up and leave, she spots a small wooden chest from behind the stone chair where the mind flayer had been sitting. The unlocked wooden chest containing two potions of healing, 16 gp, 82 sp, and 250 cp.
(OOC: Are you planning to head back the way you came? It took you a pretty long time navagating the tunnels in the dark without carrying a nearly 300 pound tabaxi. Jorah did find a secret passage that *hint* might lead to a faster way out)
Jorah leads the group through the narrow tunnel which ends at a flight of stairs leading to a large flagstone. Jorah struggles to lift it but with a bit of help you all find yoursleves in a cozy basement. It is well lit with a few lanterns hanging from the wooden beams overhead and there are large barrels of ale and sacks of grain piled along the walls. There is a set of stairs heading up nearby and you can hear the sound of footsteps moving around above you.

Misha can carry Flowers no problem, no matter which way we go.
Jen will pick up the chest and carry it out, but will wait to distribute the goods.
