Marla waves goodbye to those staying at the house, and heads back to her lodgings. Once there she sends Shade back to act as a watcher for any trouble.
Marla's sleep is far from restful, as her Grandmother's gift, long quiescent, finally awakens. Her mind is assailed by images of both past and future, both actual and potential. <flash> She sees a couple, the woman with auburn hair, assailed by dark forces. They share a look and the woman gestures and shouts out words of power, and suddenly the scene explodes with light <flash> She sees a shadow slipping away from the bed of an elderly woman, no longer breathing, and even in the throes of her visions she sobs in recognition <flash> She sees small children giggling as they file past a tall old woman standing in the doorway to the inn. The woman watches them closely and counts them as the make their way inside. <flash> She sees an old man working tirelessly at the bar as the last of the patrons walk out the door. His hand is shaking and he drops a glass, prompting it to break on the floor. The man frowns and struggles to bend down to clean up the mess. <flash> She sees the broken glass fracturing again and again, the fragments screaming <flash> She sees herself knocking over a glass, which smashes and cuts her with a fragment, and suddenly blood is raining from the ceiling and she gives a strangled shriek as she struggles to breathe <flash> She sees herself knocking over a glass, but then the pieces are swept up and away, and there is the distant sound of happy laughter <flash> She's suddenly drowning in blood as the images accelerate, visions of death, of war, of blasted lands, of dead gods and dying worlds...
With a final scream she jerks awake, a little vomit down the front of her nightdress and dark shadows under her eyes, which are still crazed from the bombarding images. Slowly her training reasserts itself, her breathing steadying as her mind manages to close some of the newly opened channels until she can better control them, leaving just a chink to let through more urgent or timely prompts... Once she has calmed herself, the memories of blood come back, and she's quickly pulling on her clothes and running out the door, scared she's too late, and that something has been disturbed, or unleashed, in the house...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jorah leaves and approaches his tribe. After explaining the events of the day a many of the kobolds cannot believe that you were possibly able to not only find a nicer place to live.. but also may have secured jobs for some of them. 5 of your closest kobold brethren believe every word and seem very excited at the idea of helping you with your new place. Kip, knob, Flip, Spike, Squat, and Dave all agree to follow you back to the tavern first thing in the morning and help with the renovations if you would like.
Misha heads home and tells her parents about what they had been doing the past couple days and describes the tavern and asks if they would be interested in investing in its renovation. At first they are so startled by danger that their sweet child had been exposed to that they don't pay much attention to the information about the tavern but after a few mugs of ale they calm down and agree to go with Misha in the morning to check the place out. After a late meal both Misha's parents give her a big hug. The tall red-haired woman towers over them both but they squeeze her hightly letting her know that they are both glad she is safe.
Marla has no problem making her way through the city and after a rough nights sleep (see above) she races to get dressed and get back to her friends. She is up before the sun and the fog is thick outside once again. As she steps out into the street a familiar voice shouts out to her from the fog. "Why don't ya just come clean about what ya know... Who are you protecting lass. Why won't you just tell him where his wife is?" A rough sounding voice asks from the darkness as a tall figure steps forward and begins to take shape through the thick fog nearby.
Those staying in the tavern spend a great deal of time sweeping and cleaning and discarding broken junk (Which goes much faster once Jorah is gone). As you work you manage to remove most of the spiderwebs and eradicate the majority of the rats before finally settling down to sleep. Through the night you hear floorboards creak and scratching in the walls. Occasionally the rooms get cold enough to cause you to shiver before seemingly returning to a normal temperature once more. It is a very old building in need of repair with drafts and critters living in its walls. You all manage to sleep well enough through the night and wake up refreshed. If the sun is out you cannot tell due to the thick spring fog that continues to choke out the suns rays.
(OOC: There are a number of shops nearby and stuff too that would love to know who has moved in. I will try to provide more of that information to you soon but feel free to continue to RP. Sorry once again for lack of posts)
Flowers will leave their new manor house and head to where he was living previously to pack up his stuff.
When he returns to the house a few hours later he has a large steamer trunk on his back and hauls it up the stairs to the attic where he drops it with a large thud - sending rats etc scurrying away in to the deeper darkness.
Until he can get some repairs done and perhaps acquire some furniture this will do for now - he will hammer a few pegs in to some joists and stretch out a hammock next to his trunk. beside that a small folding side table with a single half melted candle. He hangs a few other objects from the rafters, a woven wooden circle with bits of colored string stretched across its surface, a small bit of shell with a wavelike swirl, and an old strip of leather with several paw prints in ink upon it. With each item placed he says a few words of reverence, then satisfied he will crawl in to his hammock and fall asleep.
Marla instinctively flinches at the voice, and then her eyes glaze for a moment as she has a moment of foresight, seeing a particularly thick billow of fog blow just so, and her stepping just there..
She follows her instincts, stepping away from the figure.. (Stealth: 17)
(If she successfully evades the figure, she’ll take a circuitous route back to the house)
"Nice trick... but ya can't keep running forever little lady... I'll find ya. I ALWAYS do..." He says aloud as Marla slipps into the fog and seemingly disappears. You glance back towards where the figure had been and can just make out a small glow of a pipe being lit. You manage to make your way back to the tavern as the sky begins to turn from black to gray. The fog is unrelenting and makes it hard to tell if you have been followed or not. With the fog this thick and without your raven with you... it is hard to know for sure.
The next morning, Misha can be heard outside looking over the manor's exterior with a couple that looks absolutely completely the opposite as she does. Both her mother and father are short, stout, portly red cheeked humans who are comically round and out of shape. Also, they are a bit older than you'd expect to have a child at the time Misha was born. They look like a kind, inquisitive older couple at first glance. As Misha points to various points on the structure of the manor, her father takes notes and nods. Her mother nods as well, carrying a small wrapped box in her hand.
Eventually, when whatever they were discussing is done, Misha knocks on the door and patiently waits for whoever to answer.
Flowers is sitting cross-legged on a clear spot of the common room floor tossing a knife up in to the air trying to stick it in to one of the crossbeams while he waits for everyone else to return.
Grandmother was an orphan running around trying not to get killed by kobolds and gremlins and she became a hero and started a family. Rebuilding this house is child's play compared to that.
Jen didn't care about a little bit of exposure to the elements. That's where her power came from and after a night of sleep she felt a little bit more powerful when she woke up. She opens the door when Misha knocks on the door. "Good morning, Misha. I assume that these are your parents?"

Misha takes in a breath of air to answer, but her parents nearly bowl her over approaching Jen at the door.
"By the Gods above, is this the granddaughter of Jill Moon?"her father says in complete disbelief. Misha mother looks like she's going to explode. Her father continues. "Lass, we've heard so much about you - all in just one night! It's very nice to meet you. I am Misha's father, Horace, and this is Wilma."
"We brought housewarming treats, my dear!"her mother nodded to Jen, handing her a box with a ribbon. "Hope you like donuts!"
Misha made a silly face and a gesture as if saying, here they are, regarding her parents! They did not have her accent in the slightest and simply couldn't wait to come in and look around. They look at Jen as if she's some sort of movie star.
Come the next morning, Jorah leads his brothers and sisters, the six who would follow him at least, through the sewers till they pop out near Trollskull. Using hoods, they scamper under the fog to reach the front door, where Jorah enters and shows them around. Kip, knob, Flip, Spike, Squat, and Dave are all shown the main floor, as well as the hatch down the basement. Once in the basement, he explains how well this underground cellar could be used for them to store their treasures, as well as the place above to become a place to work and learn. Hyping up his brothers and sisters with far-flung dreams, aspirations, and desires to become "Dragon" he convinces them to make this place their new home. With the six of them, they will spread their tribe's influence to the North of Waterdeep. He didn't want to abandon his tribe that stayed behind, he knew Kobold were cautious and smart, and that they simply didn't want to take the chance. However, the Kobolds who followed him were almost Dragon, they were brave. Not true Dragon though, not yet, only Jorah was true Dragon in tribe.
For that morning after his speech to his brothers and sisters, Jorah introduced Kip, knob, Flip, Spike, Squat, and Dave to the members of the party present in the building, before ordering them to help clean up, fix up a few things and settle down in the basement.
Alexa spends her time cleaning up every room but her own, deliberately leaving it for last. When she finally heads to her room for sleep, she kneels to pray to Ilmater, like always, holding her holy symbol in her hands. "Ilmater, in your name may all suffering be alleviated. Thank you for your protection, for your guidance. I offer in return my kindness, my hope, and my belief. Thank you for helping me today to look past my anger and desire for vengeance. I offer in return my care and assistance to those who need it. Ilmater, in your name may we end all suffering."
She moves to rise from her kneeling position, but freezes in place as she feels a familiar presence. A presence she hasn't felt since she was nineteen, just grazing across her mind like a gentle caress. He does not speak, but she feels His warmth, His kindness, His approval of what she has done. And she feels the barrier in her mind lift just a little, the block on her power develop the tiniest of cracks to let long-held, recently taken power flood in. Alexa gasps softly as her hands glow dark red, a line of crimson light running around her wrists like a cord for the barest of moments before it all fades, leaving her alone in the room once more.
That night, Alexa does not dream of blood and inked eyes, of gold and loss. Instead, she dreams of healing, of helping.
Of protecting.
The next morning, Alexa comes down looking the happiest any of you (except Jorah) have seen her. Even Jorah hasn't seen her this joyful in the last two weeks. She turns her head as Marla comes racing in the door. "Yes, don't worry," she reassures the wizard. "We're all okay. Sit down." She brings the woman over to a repaired chair and sits her down. "What's wrong?" She gives Misha and her parents a brief smile and wave as they come in, but is content to let Jen handle the talking there, focusing on the distressed Marla.
Flowers watches the parade of Kobolds with.....curiosity? hunger? perhaps a bit of both? Then his snoot, snoofers something delectable, he sticks his nose in the and sniffs around, finally coming down upon a box that Jen happens to be holding on to....a box of..........donuts! He quickly gets up and goes over and offers to help Jen with the box, a deep rumbling purr sounding in his chest as he gets closer. Then he spots the strangers and gives them the eye.....before realizing Misha is standing with them.
"Yes, I am her granddaughter. My name is Jen Moon, it's nice to meet you. Come inside, I'll introduce you to the others and we can all have donuts." She accepts the box from Wilma's parents and leads them to the others. "Jorah, Alexa, Flowers, Marla, these are Misha's parents; Wilma and Horace. Wilma and Horace, these are the other adventurers that Misha and I have been working with for the past few days. They brought donuts as a housewarming present, so eat up!"
Jen notices that Misha's parents are holding her in high regard and isn't particularly bothered by the attention. Her family had made an effort to live quietly and not make celebrities of themselves, but Misha was a family friend, so it was different than being paraded around by random strangers.
