Marla whistles appreciatively. ‘They must be quite a handful! I expect we’ll earn every piece of that gold...’
She thinks for a moment ‘I think I saw an interesting bookshop earlier. I’ll see if I can sell the Paper Bird there, and work some sort of deal with the spell book we recovered in the sewers....’
Jorah scratches his snout and looks up at Jen, "Should I comez? Helped raize younglingz in tribe. Wez putz them in zhe cage, but don't knowz if zhat is....proper, for peoplez here."
Hearing about the bookshop, Jorah's eyes go wide with stars, as he snaps his head towards Marla, "Bookz!? Canz I come with?" He loved reading, and maybe this place had something interesting to steal read.
‘Of course Jorah, I’d love your company. Just remember this is one of our neighbours, and because we’ll be living here for a while we need to make as good an impression as possible..’
Marla then heads upstairs to drop off her belongings, and also takes a moment to ask Lif to let her know if he sees anyone acting suspiciously.
She then heads downstairs with both her spellbook and the ~~looted~~ re-distributed one, plus the Paper Bird.
Jorah, far more interested in the books than he is in looking over any flesh-skinned children from another tribe, he follows after Marla down the stairs, "Yez!" He pulls his hood making sure it's on tight to keep the sunlight off his face and scampers beside his fellow book lover.
ooc: sorry for my lack of posting, being home for the holiday with the kids home and my dad on the hospital has slowed me down. I will try to get a post up today or tomorrow morning at the latest. I really appreciate all of your RP.
‘Jorah and I can either come along after we’ve been to the bookshop, if you think you might need more hands on deck, or we can come back here and do some more work on the tavern... Any preferences?’
(OOC: So just to be clear, it is close to around noon at the moment. You all have 5 hours until your babysitting job. How many of you are going on a short walk to the magic/books shop?)
Misha, weary and ash covered, walked through the Acheronian camp on Avernus. Sweaty, and bruised, she lumbered in her armor under the heat. Her hair stuck to her forehead and gathered with her companions who had risked her life with her in saving the city captured there. Even Corrin, the tiefling child, was among the heroes who saved it. Having just lost her mother - transformed into an angel and heading to Celestia with a powerful artifact - the battle for Avernus had been won, and Corrin had to say goodbye to her mother. Now, unbeknownst to her, she was going to say goodbye to the red headed Archeronian.
This was the price Misha had to pay. She could visit other worlds but would never be truly from any of them. Acheron was home. Acheron was life. Bane was the God she served. In life, and in death. She could never remain. In the service of the God of War - she would meet souls from elsewhere but could never be a part of them.
She kneeled next to Corrin, who was quietly coloring a book with crayons, and tried to find the words to tell her how much she loved her, and, trying to find a way to explain to a child how she couldn't stay. She stared at her lovingly as Corrin quietly colored, and Misha had no idea how to break the little girl's heart. She had just lost her mother, and now Misha was going away, too. This feeling, this moment in time, Misha never forgot. The building sorrow of having to break the heart of someone you loved. Instead, Misha said nothing, savoring the moment with the little girl. She just couldn't find the words.
"Would you like to color with me?"Corrin asked sweetly, holding a crayon up to her.
Misha took it. "Yes, moya printsessa. I would."
She picked up a crayon and began to color with her. The moment couldn't of lasted longer.
"Why is your hand shaking?"Corrin would ask, confused.
"Because..do not know when Misha see you again, leetle one.."Misha's voice cracked.
Flowers (and whoever else wants to keep cleaning up the tavern) stay behind and work to finish cleaning the the worst of the mess so that construction may soon begin. Lif assists with lifting and sweeping. Whenever he is around you get a slight smell of pipe tobacco as a bit of warm air moves past.
Those heading to the book store walk for a few minutes on the nice sunny day. The smell from lunch being prepared in nearby houses and a few street vendors smells very appetizing. Freshly baked bread and meat kabobs sit atop a small kart parked along the road as you make your way to your destination. Before long you arrive at Book Wyrm's treasures. The front of this bookstore is adorned with a charming sign of a gold dragon curled around a treasure hoard of books and scrolls. Inside, the shop is decorated with beautiful hardwood, and the earthy scent of old books permeates the air. The library fills two floors of this three-story building, and it somehow seems to contain more shelves than the building should be able to hold. When you walk through the front door, a small bell rings. The soft chime seems to move through the building and after a moment or two, a short gold scaled dragonborn steps out from behind a nearby shelf of books. "OH! Hello! how can I be of service. My name is Rishaal the Page-Turner, but you may call me Rishaal." he says with a soft smile.
(Marla will have taken some time before entering the store to have Detect Magic cast as a ritual)
She smiles as Rishaal greets them, and nods her head in greeting. ‘Good afternoon Rishaal, nice to make your acquaintance. I’m Marla Ravenwhisper, and this is one of my colleagues, Jorah. We’re part of the group who's just starting the process of renovating Trollskull Manor. We'd like to potentially talk business, but do you mind if we look around first? I always find a nice bookstore is a balm to the spirit, and it's been a trying day...'

"Are zeh cheeldren coming here?" Misha asked, taking off her coat.
"I don't think so. Judging from the description of the job, we'd be going to his house to watch over the children."

Misha doesn't need anything. Just honor and glory. Oh wait.
If there's more to do to straighten up around Trollskull Manor then Flowers would busy himself with that.
