"Thank you, miss." Aurlan says to the halfling. He takes the keys, passes one to Kiera and Fayne, and keeps the other. He waves Vestigar over as they head up to their room. Once his stuff is all set down, the bard makes sure Vestigar is all settled in as well before heading back downstairs.
"I suppose with Kiera covering our rooms it's only fair for me to pick up a meal or two at least. Shall we finally get something decent to eat after ship rations for the past week? We can check the rest of the town out after."
'Well I suppose a drink is in order then, and I think maybe some information gathering while we are at it. I'd like to know what kind of place we have landed ourselves in.'
Vestigar will head back to the bar and snag a table for the party.
"Thank you for the food." She says as she begins eating. "I don't drink these kinds of drinks, however." She continues after a few bites. "So if one of you wants to drink mine as well..." Then, after a short pause, "I... I can pay you back for it if you want. I should have said so before you brought it."

"We can always give it to someone without one, it's not like it has to be drunk in our group" Kiera shrugs and smiles looking around the room at the other patrons but also looking for anyone who stands out

"I drink water, juices... anything but liquor really. I've witnessed what it does to people and prefer to avoid that myself." She finishes about half the plate before leaning back in her chair, looking rather satisfied. "Say, now that we're here, does any of you have an idea about what you want to do?"
Kiera, you see the tables full of fairly common people. Most of them are sailors who have come in from the docks. None of them appear particularly wealthy. There is one gentleman who is nailing a paper sign to a billboard on the bar's wall. You cannot read all of it, but see that the billboard is titled "Help Wanted." Nothing else stands out to you.

Vestigar is also scanning the bar for any sight or sound of possible work.
'Finding some people to help and getting some gold should probably be a top priority.'To the waiter he says 'Excuse me fine tiefling, do you know of any one looking for the help of some adventurous souls?'
The tiefling nods. "Yes. People come in here all the time looking for help. That gentlemen over there--" the tiefling says, pointing to an elven male in a cloak. "--has been talking about needing adventurers for some task he needs done. If his isn't to your liking, the Andelia family, one of the large wine families in the city, always have tasks for pay available."
Fayne gets off her chair and goes to the billboard, checking out the signs posted on it, looking for anything that doesn't look like it will lead to her early death.
The billboard has multiple signs. Two that seem to be put on the wall most recently catch your eye. They read:
Catch a Local Wine Thief! Some scoundrel has stole 10 crates of wine from Andelia Wine 20 gold pieces to whoever catches them Go to Andelia Winehouse for more information
Kill Band of Dangerous Creatures A group of an estimated 5-10 unknown creatures have been eating the crops of Stereth Farm 15 pounds of fresh crops from the farm for whoever catches and kills these animals Visit Stereth Farm for more information
Aurlan adjusts his cloak, stands up, and comes to check out the sign as well.
"Interesting. I could go for helping the winehouse myself."
He looks over his shoulder, toward the elf. "Though I suppose weighing all our options might be to our benefit."
Aurlan moves toward the elf's table. "Good afternoon, sir. I hear you've mentioned needing adventurers; might my friends and I hear out what the job you need done is?"
The elf looks up at Aurlan. "Yes, indeed. I'm a fisherman, and have been my whole life. I've spent the last ten years here in Mercasi, and the fish have always been plentiful. But things are changing in the waters. There's a mysterious creature near the docks that has been eating all the fish. I've seen it on multiple occasions, and it's large. I could never take it down by myself, and I doubt any coalition of ordinary sailors could either. So I need some brave adventurers to find this large creature and take it down, so my livelihood can be restored." The elf reaches within his cloak, and withdraws a pouch. "I have money to give you for the job, if you want to take it. But more than that, I have a boat if you need to use it."

"A good meal would be much appreciated!"

He gets everyone a glass of ale along with lunch.
"I'm not particularly fond of the ocean... especially after being taken prisoner on it" she smiles and drinks deeply scoffing down the meal

"It's alright; it's no trouble at all, really." Aurlan replies to Fayne. "For future reference, what kind of drink do you prefer?"
He takes a sip of his ale. "I'd drink the extra one, but it's only noon. Don't want to get drunk, y'know. Not yet at least."

"Well my plans would be help those who need it and get myself a new sword to properly follow the Dark Mistress, I need to get myself a singing sword"
Kiera looks down a little
"To be honest following her is new to me but I want to do it well! Speaking off that looks interesting" she points out the notice
