"Yes, good idea. I will go last, giving each of you assistance from the Lady of Fate, if you cannot do it yourself, to move stealthily," Xerronios says.
The wreck is not close enough to the pass to give cover getting past those 2 guardian undead. It is towards the beach, away from the entrance to the pass.

W is the wreck, G the guardian undead, and P the pass. X is just reef along either side of the pass. Not to scale of course, but should show that the wreck is not going to aid you in getting past those two undead.
Seeing the situation and realizing the original plan wasn't going to work, Io shook his head, "It seems I've overestimated the position of the wreck. Let us return to the original plan of luring the undead away with lights and sounds. If that fails, we can assault them directly and hope to proceed without further opposition."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
So we sneak as close to the guards as we feel is totally safe. If that is the wreck, great! If it’s some cover a bit further away, we’ll settle for that.
We then proceed to use a combination of spells to create noise and visuals to try to lure the guards away. Xerronios uses Silent Image to create a person? One of us? Up to him, but like 60’ away down the direction we didn’t come from. Livilias uses Thaumaturgy to throw his voice down to emanate from the Silent image to add to the deception. Further, Owlie will go down there to assist as well, to create movement in bushes or such to add more life to the illusion…
Once/if the guards start heading towards the illusion, 30 feet or so? Like halfway there, Windlass will then use Fog Cloud[ behind the guards, between them and us, to aid us on sneaking down the path in case the guards look or turn back…
if we are all agreed on this I’d guess those casting maybe need Deception rolls and we’d all need stealth rolls for once the guards move?
Deception: 14 Stealth: 7
if you want specifics of the Silent Image that would be there call, but I’d suggest a lifelike humanoid bunny all dolled up like a 60s sex symbol blowing kisses to the guards. My Thaumaturgy could add some sappy love music and Looney Tunes sound effects for the kisses…
Moving quietly, the group of you reach the wreck nearest the undead guards.
A human woman suddenly appears, wearing a very tight blouse and some sort of waist cloth that leaves her legs completely uncovered. (Mini skirt.) She starts making kissing sounds towards the two undead, her long blond hair hanging loose to her shoulders. "Hey honey, come and get me if you want..." A female voice calls from that direction, accompanied by some giggling.
The two undead step forward, immediately striding off towards the woman. As they do so a dense fog expands, covering the area from you towards the path that leads towards the center of the island. Without hesitation you move in that direction, and are soon past the area the undead had been standing. You notice one thing immediately, there are no footprints, at all, in the sand that covers the path. It is as if nothing has passed this way in many years, no animals, no birds, nothing has stepped in these sands, until now.
Moving forward you arrive at the center of the island. A large lake fills the area. Looking at it, you are easily abel to tell it is a lake of sea water, and that, thanks to it being low tide right now, you can spot a pat that leads down from the edge of the lake, to a cave entrance that would be hidden at high tide. There does not appear to be much else of interest in the area, and no other path to follow.
Io says, looking at the cave entrance, "If the cave is hidden during high tide then it may become flooded at that time too. If we are to explore it, we should be cautious about the high tide and not spend too long inside."

With a nod of his head in that direction, and a mental command to his familiar, Livilias sends Owlie flying towards the cave to investigate it. “Friend, if you don’t mind…” Livilias says to Windlass and places a hand upon their shoulder so as to steady themself. Windlass has undoubtedly allowed this before, it’s a sure sign that Livilias is looking through his familiar’s eyes and other senses in real time rather than merely getting telepathic updates as to what the small creature sees.
“Perhaps we can find out if it’s safe or not, yes? Just gives us some time to explore…” Livilias says to the group and describes what he’s seeing as he sees it.
Owlie has 120’ Darkvision, keen sight & hearing and advantage on perception checks that rely on those. Perception: 11 or 21 (easier to roll twice on mobile…)
While Livilias is seeing through his familiar, Io would stand watch with his war hammer and shield ready to defend against any undead that might be headed their way. He looks around to see if any undead are approaching so that the party isn't caught by surprise.
At the lowest tide the heroes can access the submerged cavern at the center of the island. Inside is a waterlogged and moss-slick ladder leading into the dark abyss. To reach the bottom, a character must succeed on a DC 15 Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check, or they slip and fall, taking 2d6 bludgeoning damage.
At the bottom of this natural well is a dank cavern of roughly rectangular shape, with a throne-like seat of seaweed and bleached coral at one end. Upon the seat sits a corpse holding a golden holy symbol of Erebos. A successful DC 10 Wisdom (Medicine) check reveals that the corpse is not in an advanced enough state of decomposition to have been underwater for long.

Windlass absolutely allows Livilias to steady himself while the owl takes a look. When she learns of what's at the bottom, she says, "Smells like a trap, but perhaps one we should spring. Some rope, and me ready to cast feather fall should anyone slip, would make getting in easier. We should definitely check for traps, in case what happened to the individual on the throne is something that could happen to us. Or if he is a trap."
She wracks her memory to see what she knows about Erebos.
Io shakes his head and says, "I believe we should head back if the cave does not hold any significance to the ship we are searching for. If we meddle with the cave, we may incur the wrath of Erebos. We know that this island exists and that ships crash here. If it holds nothing of significance to our journey, we may do well to return to our own ship and send out word so other ships may avoid this place." He then adds offhandedly, "I'd rather not gain the ire of another god for something of little use."
“These gods of yours are a fickle breed, my friend. Stepping on ones toes may gain their wrath, but refusing to step on their toes may gain the wrath of another, yes?” Livilias asks/suggests. “I say man should tend to the affairs of man and let these gods sort out their own messes. It’s bad enough when we cannot help but get drawn in, we shouldn’t let our guesses about their minds dictate our lives…”
“Mind you, I’ve been of the thought of escaping this cursed island since we first wrecked upon it… But that is my own will, not what I hope will placate one of them.”
"No," Xerronios says with uncharacteristic firmness. "We are here now, lead by the gods and goddesses and we do not know its significance in our quest. For all we know, the corpse below may hold some vital clue. It is a matter of fate. It was not easy for us to reach this place and I see no reason to abandon that effort so casually. I will ask Klothys for guidance, but unless she specifically advises against going down, I, at least will make the journey."
Putting actions to words, the Leonine bard finds a bare patch of ground, lays out a blanket, then mumurs, "O' Lady of Fate, give guidance to those in need, those who seek to further the cause of fate. What shall be our fate should we venture into yonder hole? Will it be for weal or woe?"
"Yes, good idea. I will go last, giving each of you assistance from the Lady of Fate, if you cannot do it yourself, to move stealthily," Xerronios says.

Ok. Let me know what you plan to do. Please make any related rolls you can think of and I'll ask for any others that I think are needful.
