Kanlos nods at the captain's instructions, "I'm not sure how to help on the ship as I've never been on one before, but once we reach land I will certainly be able to make use of my training. I can assist in scouting the islands we come to as well as searching for and gathering food and water, not to mention combat ability."
"Leaving behind the familiar and venturing into the unknown is the whole point! Without it, you would never realize your full potential!"Ritha agrees vehemently. Catching herself, her cheeks darken a bit, and her face returns to a more neutral expression. "That is to say, no one wishes to drag you here against your will. But consider the benefits of traveling with us - you were tasked with this mission to bring glory to your patron. You obviously are a member of the clergy... does not your god or goddess call you to greatness? This may be your chance."
Io answers calmly, "As far as I understand, the nature of this mission is to follow the trail of the legendary mariner Callaphe. We are venturing into the unknown to reclaim the lost ship and the treasure it holds. This journey is shaping up to be one that would be worthy of going down in legend, allowing the Proud Jester, her captain and her crew to join the ranks of the heroes of myth." He then pauses and says, "At least that is the general goal of the mission itself. Personally, I would assume each of us here as their own motives, be it treasure, fame, glory or pleasing our respective gods or something else entirely."
The Leonine bard nods. "Obviously, I can provide the crew with entertainment to help keep spirits high. The same skills can be used when we go ashore. It's my hope that this voyage can help untangle at least some of the threads of fate."
“This journey is to find the long-lost ship of a legendary captain.” Gnorcys says with a glance to every memeber of the group. “We do not know, exactly, where the ship is located, but we do know it is full of treasure and bounty.” She narrows her sea-blue eyes on each of you. “You were all picked by Thassa and are here for a reason.” She gives you all a nod and moves away.
Rhordon stays a bit longer. “Feel free to fish all you wish over the sides of the ship.” He tells you all. “Anything you catch make sure to get to me or another officer, as it will go to the food supplies on the ship.” He gives you all a nod and turns to find the captain again.
Kanlos looks to the others of our group, "So it seems we will be working together. Have any of been in combat before? It might be advantageous for us to get a feel for each other's style in combat. I for example, am a Lektoi who served in the Alamon branch of the Akroan Stratians." He looks as if he believes that should explain all you need to know about his combat tactics and abilities.
Io states, "I have received formal combat training and I have been in a battle or two as well as a few hunting trips with a company of men. I prefer to be on the front-lines and deal with the enemy before they can cause too much trouble."
"Oh I love bread and beer!" Spyro would say with a smile towards Zika between puffs on his pipe. "Some temples make the BEST beer. he would continue. As for myself, well I'm a pretty good fisherman, just like my father and my father's father... so I am looking forward to some Deep sea fishing for the first time!" The satyr would add excitedly. "Now as far as combat.. well I have my crossbow here for taking care of things from far away.. normally pesky gulls trying to steal my catch of the day. As for up close..." Spyro would hold up his hand out in front of him. The thick soft hair growing on the back of it was standing straight up and slightly blowing in the breeze. A moment later lightning would arc between his fingers and the wind around the him would gust and twirl. " I was born with the ability to control lighting, air, and water.... At least a little bit. My father told my that my mother was a sea nympth.. I never knew if he was joking or not, he's a bit of a jester. I DO know that he had been struck by lightning at least twice that I have seen. He said he had been struck a lot more times that that so WHO knows!" The satyr would then continue to puff away on his pipe while pulling out large brown waxed bag from his back and pulling out some fishing gear as he prepares to start fishing.
"Are you going to fish, then?"Ritha asks Spyro. "I can help you with that when you do... though I will likely be attempting that from under the waves,"she adds, stowing the things she doesn't wish to bring with her on a dive overboard. Searching for a crewmember available to drop a rope ladder so she can easily reboard the ship afterwards Ritha looks back at the others.
"As you know, my people are as comfortable underwater as above it. It might do well to assist the lookout on the ships for any dangers from above... I can attempt to do so from below. And I shall try to startle a few schools of fish towards this ship in the process,"she adds. Checking that her weapons are in place, Ritha prepares to dive overboard to check the waters, though she does wait politely first to see if there are any objections from the crew, or her newly-met teammates.
Kanlos looks somewhat surprised, “I’d heard about your abilities to swim and even breath under water, but I had no idea you could keep up with a ship doing so! Very impressive! I also brought along some basic fishing gear, but it is better suited for fishing in a lake or river, I may need some time to adapt it to fishing at sea.”
Ritha laughs. "That I can hardly do. I do not plan to be down there long enough to keep up with this ship at all, but we haven't picked up enough speed yet for there to be a danger of being left behind in these waters. Whether or not we can manage to catch any fish for our supplies here, however, that much I can determine."
"I can probably drop a rope down into the water for you to climb up and down if you want" Spyro would say with a grin. "I've been itching to see if my fathers lure will bring me any luck out here in the open water." The satry would then pull from his pack a large fishing lure measuring almost a foot long. It was painstakingly engraved with find fish details into what appeared to be a single well polished bone. The lure had tiny pieces of metal fixed to the front and back to the large bone fish that reflected the rays of the sun. Sets of hooks tangled from the fins on the top, sides, and back of the lure.. hidden under small milticolored feathers. He would then move to the side of the ship and pull out his rope and tie it off so that the end dangled into the water before casting out his line. "I normally use my net on the boat but here in the deeper water, perhaps this will work better" He would say out of the side of his mouth as his fancy pipe remains squeezed between his lips.
As some of the others get ready to start fishing, Io says, "I'm not much of a fisherman. I wish you luck on your fishing. May Atheros bless you with a good catch." He pats Spyro on the shoulder as he wishes him good luck (And also casts Guidance on him) before taking a seat on the wooden floor of the deck a bit distance away from the guys who are fishing.
(The ship is already picking up speed, so it would not be wise to try swimming now. There will be times for that later, but not as the ship is under full sails.)
Those who are trying their luck at fishing give me survival checks.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Xerronios strolls over and picks up a fishing pole. "The river clans do this often and I learned the skill, as we learn all the skills needed for survival. But it has been many years since last I tried to find a meal this way. Still, I remember it being a relaxing occupation and practicing a skill is never time wasted."

Almost mumbling to herself, Kassiopeia looks back at the harbor: "Hermes and I are experts at plowing. I specialized in fields of wheat and rye."

You can add a d4 to those rolls.
Added D4's :D Thanks!
Ritha, seeing the ship picking up speed, decides to stay on the ship. "Thassa must be very eager for us to get underway," she murmurs.
