You both see that the lights appear to be bobbing lantern lights. Each of you recall a fairly nasty creature that can appear like this though, Will-o'-wisps.
(Sorry for being absent this week. Ritha will just be staying on the ship and praying for now, I'll try to rejoin when I have the time and energy to catch up.)
Xerronios stands and nods agreement with Kanlos. "Klothys offers no guidance on this either way. The way ahead will not result in particular harm or benefit. That suggests the lights ahead may well be just what they appear...lanterns on poles."
Io asks, "If it is lantern's or poles, would that suggest that there's land up ahead? Perhaps we should investigate it then? The last time we came upon land and decided to stop, it ended with pleasing the gods and bringing in the winds of change to a community that needed it."
Kanlos hesitates for a moment then nods, "Perhaps, but we still shouldn't attempt a landing in the dark. If we choose to go ashore, it should be during daylight hours."
"Very well." Gnorcys says with a nod of ehr own. "I will ahve the rowers stop their work, and we will let ourselves drift in these currentless waters." She moves off to see it done.
The lights continue to becon during the night, but nothing bad happens to the ship or the crew that night.
In the light of day you see an island which appears to have been flipped upside down— its bleached coral reefs sticking far into the air like the roots of an uprooted tree. Very little vegetation survives on the land that sits above sea level. What little flora does exist clusters tightly around murky ponds which dot the otherwise barren landscape.
The white beaches of the island are littered with shipwrecks both recent and ancient. Most look like they crumpled into the island or were washed ashore. One shipwreck appears pristine, untouched by the passage of time.
Io stands on the deck seeing so many shipwrecks. He feels a creeping dread like the one he felt when they were assaulted by Harpies but this time it's worse. He eyes the recent ships that have crashed on to the island. He only spares a passing glace at the ship that's pristine. He is more concerned with the state of survivors of past ship wrecks and continues staring at the island without saying anything.
Kanlos and IO both recognize the untouched-by-age ship as that of Erebos, god of the dead. They would expect a horde of riches to be aboard that ship, but would also recognize that even touching it might bring a curse from that divine being upon their heads.
"So we stop then?" Gnorcys asks, as she hears Kanlos attest to that. "Shall we send you ashore in the rowboat then?"
Io says, "I wish to go investigate. The ship untouched is one of Erebos and it is most likely filled with treasure that would bring upon a curse to any who might touch it. However, I still want to investigate because with the sheer amount of wrecked ships there, there might be survivors over there, waiting for someone to rescue them." If Mirrie's ship was among those that wrecked, given that some of them were recent, he does not wish to pass up any chance to search the area. He is a bit concerned about the curse but he also knows that a ship like that would be the first place survivors would head to for seeking shelter so he is willing to risk the curse.
Though he believed in the gods, Xerronios knew he was not as versed in their ways as some so he was more than willing to follow the others in this, and said so.
Kanlos thinks back to his knowledge of natural phenomena to try and identify the lights.

Kanlos shakes his head, “It may be land, but those are likely will-o-wisps, dangerous to go chasing after in the dark.”

Io nods, "Agreed. Waiting till daylight would give us higher visibility to see what exactly we are looking at. "

"Probably a good idea we stopped I guess."

Kanlos nods, "Agreed, it's worth investigating, but that ship should remain untouched and we should be cautious about taking anything else."
