Kassiopeia ... You believe the captain of the Bold Gem is being truthful. he seems concerned and worried, more so as this conversaton as continued, clearly alarmed there is such a sickness aboard his ship, as he knows there is little chance of them all not catching it if it continues without some countermeasures being taken.
"I'd appreciate any aid you can give me." He calls back and is already lowering the ladder as Kassiopeia heads to get her gear.
"I will accompany you." Aughus says, holding his symbol to Pharika. "I was given this vision, so will see it through..."
A rowboat is lowered for the trip to the other ship, who else will be going along?
"I'll go kill some rats. I can't do much to cure the sick but I can help keep anyone else from catching it" The satry would reply before getting in the boat. As he gets inside he gives a whistle.. prompting Scraps to bound into the craft as well and sit beside him... his tail wagging and tongue hanging out.
With a flick of his wrist the bard sent Zarcan into the air with murmured leonine word which told the osprey there was prey in the direction of the other ship. If any of the rats where on the top deck, Zarcan might see if she liked the taste of rat. Then he brought his weapons and lute and climbed aboard for the short trip.
"Of course I shall come along... and help where I can, be it with rats, or simply giving comfort to those who might worship the Ocean Mother on your ship," Ritha replies, following after the others.
Aughus glances to the two animals along for the journey, the osprey flying and dog in the boat. "Sure you wish them along?" he asks with a frown. "If they do bite one of the infected rats, then your animal will likely have to be put down, as they will spread the disease..." He nods to the weapons each of you wear. "Your weapons can at least be cleansed, the same cannot be said about your pets."
Xerronios nods in understanding. Then he lets out a screech that sounds remarkably like that of a hunting raptor and Zarcan turns on a wing and lands on his shoulder a moment later.
You all make your way to the deck of the Bold Gem. Handsome Dog helps you aboard, then introduces you to his first mate, Sandy Pearl. She gives you nods of greeting, but stays her distance.
Handsome Dog leads you to the hatch,w hich is very similar to the one fromt he Sinful Devil, as the two ships are of the same make. The Bold Gem seems more well-maintained thanthe Sinful Devil does though. Handsome Dog leads the way below deck, wehre lanterns are lit, hanging from hooks along the sides of the ship's hold. There are crates along both sides of the hold, with a path down the center. Towards the aft of the ship is a curtained-off section, where the captain leads you towards. As you walk there are scuttling sounds from behind the crates, the captain nodding towards it as he passes.
"Silver Patches is in there." The captain says as he stops just short of the curtain. "Silver, you ok in there?" He calls out.
"Same same captain." A tired-sounding man's voice comes back.
"Then, I shall get to the business of finding these rats," Ritha says. "I shall be near if you two need me, however," she adds to Kassiopeia and Xerronios.
"May Thassa guide us all," she adds, casting guidance on herself.
She turns away and begins to walk very softly along the floorboards, listening intently for the scuttling sounds and trying to identify where the rat nest might be located.

Before Ritha moves away, Xerronios asks for a little of that divine guidance she's been sharing. "Thank you," he says after the deed is done.
Once they reach the patient, Xerronios uncases his lute, strums a few chords. "My name's Xerronios, and if it weren't clear, I be a Leonine. How about a little music to cheer the soul?" and without waiting for a reply, launches into a jaunty sailor's shanty he learned the night before they left port.
Our packet is the Bold Gem Lowlands, lowlands, lowlands, low
There's a laddie howlin' at the main topmast Our skipper comes from Meletis He's got the name of Hammer Toes He feeds us bread as hard as brass Our junk's as salt as a bailer's arse The monkey wears a sailor's clothes Now, where he got 'em from, the gods only know It's up aloft that yard must go Up aloft from down below We'll haul 'em high and let 'em dry We'll trice 'em up into the sky Lowlands, me boys, and up she goes Get changed, me boys, for your shore-going clothes
Ritha, of course, grants Thassa's blessings to whomever wishes to partake, but only after she has finished her search, and in an orderly fashion, one after another (guidance is a concentration spell that ends when you use your skill check).

Covering her mouth and nose with a shawl and pulling the hood over her head, Kassiopeia steps to the curtain.
“Everyone please stand back and wait out here. This should not take too long but I would like to avoid accidental contamination.”
Waiting a moment to give those close to the curtain the time to retreat, she carefully lifts the curtain aside and pushes through, briefly stopping on the other side to look at the situation.

If she sees nothing alarming, Kassiopeia will approach the patient to give him a quick checkup.
If the checkup confirms the suspicion, Kassiopeia will cast ‘Lesser Restauration’.
Kanlos stands towards the rear of the group, bow at the ready to fire from a distance, "If you find them, try to draw them out where we can eliminate them as a group rather than risk fighting in close."

ooc: I forgot about the concentration...so never mind.
As Kassiopeia turns to leave, Xerronios says, "A moment, Kassiopeia, do you have the magic to heal the sailor?"

Before leaving the foredeck Kassiopeia addresses Xerronios: “With Karametras help we shall see, but I think she will look favorable on our attempts.”
With a slight nod in Xerronios direction she leaves down to get ready.
…
As soon as the rowboat is ready Kassiopeia climbs down and get aboard, waiting for the others to join.
Kanlos hesitates, but joins the others in the boat, readying his bow and blades, ready for whatever the circumstances of the ship may be.

ooc: Given his crit Medicine roll, what does Xerronios think of that possibility?

ooc just a quick reminder : the rats are the carrier and transferrer ... I would consider it likely to be contagious for other species too.
