"Right, we were thinking of going to the gnomes next. Do we have time yet today to make it to them before dark?" asks Morgan, adding to Leareth's questions.

The Townmaster shakes his head. "No, you do not. The gnomes are a good 4 hours travel from here. Which I don't believe you have time for, but that of course is up to you. I just know the woods can be dangerous at night." almost forgetting. "Oh, and no, you do not need to bring the gnomes back, we just need whatever equipment they can provide to help defend against the dragons."
He nodded understanding, took his share of the gold and rose. "Well, if we don't have time, we might as well rest and go in the morning. Pleasure doing business with you. Think I'll go do some window shopping. One of these days I'll need better gear..." He waited for the others to get up as well, intending to go with them.
"Sounds good to me," replies Morgan, taking his share of the gold (6 gp?). Moving out with Leareth, he adds, "What is there around here to buy?" (Miles isn't even sure what he needs at this point, but surely something useful in this medieval place will be found.)

"Good question..." He muttered under his breath. Who among them could even tell what to buy? He certainly knew nothing about weapons, or other gear. He had some vague idea that armors with more metal in them were better, but he couldn't imagine actually wearing plate. Too restrictive. Too heavy. And as for differences in quality... "Mainly I'm interested in prices, to get a sense of what gold is even worth around here. You know? Relative scales of value."
Geralt heading out with the rest of you will overhear you asking about gear. "If you are looking for gear, might I suggest the Lionshield Coster" he proceeds to point over to the building with the blue roof across the street. "Or if you are looking for anything that doesn't involve armor or weapons, you should check out Barthen's Provisions."
”I’m not sure what to buy, but more weapons and armor are probably out of my price range,” says Morgan. “Shall we go to Barthen’s Provisions?” he asks.

Gale looks up as the others begin to file off of the townmaster's office. "So how did things go in there? Did he stick to the agreed reward? Are we headed or again today?" He looked up to the sky, "Doesn't look like a lot of cash left. Maybe we be down here in town for the night? I don't have, well, whatever it is they use around here for money. But maybe we can work our another deal for rooms tonight."

As you all finish your shopping and head in the for the night, spending your night however you wish, whether it be taking in the sights, or simply resting. The night goes by quietly with the occasional person talking outside. The next morning arrives and you are greeted by a nice breeze, something similar to a fall breeze from back on Earth. You meet up outside and gather your thoughts and things and begin to make your way to where you believe the Gnomes are, Geralt escorting you.
Geralt: "So where are you all from? Are you new to the area?"
Gales mind wrestled with his new situation. He tried to relax and get some rest but he just could not understand how they got here. He thought back through the last few hours at the things he'd seen. It made no sense. Eh, nothing back there now, He thought to himself, and that slowed his racing thoughts and sleep soon settled upon him.
He woke early and took a stroll about town while the others were still sleeping. Gale enjoyed the stillness of the morning as he walked the edge of the town and wondered what the day would bring. He found some wild berries growing along the woods edge and gathered a few hoping to determine what may be edible around here. He'd lived off of the land for weeks at a time on some of his patrols so he was no stranger to unknown foods. He would take it slow, determine if his body reacted in any way to the berries and hopefully have a new snack option on their travels.
When he got back from his walk the others were beginning to gather and they prepared for their days journey.
"We recently met," Gale says to Geralt as he nods towards the others. "I'm..." he thought through it all again, "not from area. I don't think you would be familiar with my home town." He looked at the others thinking about how they would explain the particulars of how they all came to be in this place. "But what about you? Where are you from, and what brings you to want to travel out with us?"

Morgan:
Morgan heads over to Barthen's Provisions and peruses the wares there, eventually just buying some more rations in case they may be traveling (4 days' worth for 4 gp). He visits the Lionshield Coaster as well, seeing the suits of armor obviously better than his own, and learns the prices are far beyond his currently modest means. The rest of the afternoon is spent wandering the town and getting to know the people in it. He wonders at the strangeness of this new land, but also the familiarity of the human condition that they share. Going out of his way to meet any nonhuman residents, Morgan tries to get a sense of who the people of these races are and how they see the world.

...that night...
After meeting the others for dinner at the tavern and making their plans for the morning journey to the gnomes, Morgan went upstairs early and lay in bed, thinking on the day. The vision that came to him while he was nearly dead rose to mind, and his hand drifted to the necklace he was wearing--a silver scroll pendant hung from it, just as in the vision! Morgan held the pendant tightly and tried to will himself back into a state of communion with that vision, not sure what he was doing, but realizing that this land of magic might have deeper power than he had yet experienced.

Feeling a little silly as nothing happened, Morgan goes to sleep as early as he can, so he will be ready early in the morning to continue this strange adventure.
Morning comes and he gathers with the others. Geralt asks his question, and Gale begins to answer first. This is a land of strange magic, perhaps their tale will ring true and not be taken as the ravings of madmen as it would in his own world. Morgan tries to read Geralt's reaction to Gale's answer, considering if he should risk telling the truth to their new ally.
Insight on Geralt to see how open he might be to their fanciful origin tale: 24

"Well, actually" Leareth replied flippantly, a stupid grin on his face, inviting the man to consider his words as a joke in the hope that he'd leave it at that. "I'm a visitor from another reality altogether. This isn't even my final form - my true appearance would drive you insane. I'm here to gather intel in advance of an invasion and once we conquer your world I will be put in charge. Tell me all your strategic secrets and I'll take care of you afterward. Ha!"
Morgan: As you ask the townsfolk about themselves and their history, you are able to get a sense that their history of settlements and living isn't far from earth's beginning, however, as you look around, you are still unsure how this place seemed to have stayed frozen in time with no advanced technologies. (Cars / Phones / etc.).
Geralt, will let out a chuckle as he hears Leareth's tale. "Oh my friend, that is quite a tale, but highly unlikely. No offense, but you do not seem like a spy to me, and I've met quite a few, even one that was in fact from another plane." After listening to everyone else, he'll begin to talk about where he's from. "I'm from a place far off called Etharis. Born, raised and trained there. It's a nice little place, at least it was when I left. Haven't been back in years." He changes the topic and looks over to Gale. "I've been trained to help those in need, so here I am. I also need coin, and fighting monsters is easier with companions, but let's hope it doesn't' come to that."
"I am indeed new to the area, Geralt, and I appreciate your assistance as we get our bearings here. The land I come from is far away, as one reckons these things I suppose, with little magic but many inventions. It is a vast and open country, but my little corner was called Traveler's Rest," answers Morgan in a truthful if understated manner. "What can you tell us of these gnomes?" he asks.

"Interesting, that you are also from a far away place." Unlikely, too, though not impossible. Adventurers went were the coin was, he supposed. "My own skills are in direct application of energy blasts to monsters' foreheads, though I'm decent with this as well." He patted the crossbow. "I want to learn more, though, arcane and esoteric lore and powers... and I need coin for that. Lots of it." He let the subject drop before continuing. "Now, about this dragon we keep hearing about. Have you actually seen it, for example flying overhead?"
Geralt shrugs at the question of the gnomes. "I haven't seen these gnomes before, but the gnomes I've encountered in my travels are squirly, quirky little people. So hopefully these are similar. In regards to the Dragon. I haven't seen this Dragon, but I have seen Dragons before, hopefully it's not an adult or ancient Dragon, but incase it is, we'll need to get a lot stronger to deal with it. We'll also need all the help we can get."
