Gale shrugs. "Guess you're right. On the amount of time for drinking that is. I feel like a little tax would be fair given that... thing," he continues as he points to the dead mimic, "could have rendered all of their drink useless." He gathers himself. "But point taken. Now is not the time, and we are seeking favor."

You all gather yourselves and your equipment and go back to the cliff room with Panana. As you approach, the guard puts his spear up and points it toward your group. "Halt! What are you doing back here!?" The guard shouts at you.
“We just killed the mimic in the store room, as we were asked,” calls Morgan out loud, then quietly says to his companions, “This guy isn’t the brightest bulb in the pack, is he, Panana?”
"I guess he assumed we'd take longer to do it - or die in the process." He shrugged exaggeratedly. "I mean, it was just a mimic. A few shots and it went down. Don't believe us? Send someone to see it. We left it right where it was."
The gnome points toward Leareth with his spear. "Your friend is correct. I just assumed you'd die. Is it really dead?" He asks looking at Panana. Panana responds. "Yes, I watched them kill it, pretty quickly too." The gnome responds back. "Oh... ummm, that's great! Well, I guess I'll take you to Fibblestib and Dabbledob. They'll be able to help you with your problem, but be warned. They have been acting weird lately."
Gale gives a concerned glance and then a shrug. "Of course they're acting weird. It's one of those types of days." He pauses a moment and then adds, "The rest of your barrels looked in pretty good shape though. But you may want to open one up just to make sure. Let us know if you need a hand."

The gnome looks over to Gale and gives him a weird look. He guides you over a bridge that hangs next to the waterfall and sags so that it's roughly 15ft above the water. The bridge is rather wobbly and if you were on the run over it, might prove to be a bit difficult. As you cross over, the gnome leads you down a hallway to a room that contains 2 very large spinning blades, each spinning in opposite directions. "Stop, if you try to get through there. You will die. Give me a second." The gnome leans up against a wall and pulls out a rock, speaking quietly into it.
Gale follows over the bridge and is intrigued by the spinning blades. "Are these of your making? Looks like quite the deterrent. Do you need any assistance?" Gale watches and listens carefully as the gnome disables the trap.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Morgan:
"This looks like Gale's work," comments Morgan, assessing the mechanism before him and considering how it might be improved as well, but thankful he is hopefully going to avoid experiencing it first-hand.

"It is not mine, but it is quite exquisite, no?" Gale nods towards the gnome pulling the rock from the wall. "The inner workings seem very complex. I would love to learn some of the engineering techniques at work here."

"Ah, right, perhaps Facktoré's work then. Very interesting, in a lethal kind of way," he responds.

Wondering what is taking so long, Morgan asks, "Do you need our help, or should we just wait until you are done?" He peers ahead and looks to Panana, saying quietly, "Do you know what he is doing up there?"

A few minutes later you see the blades begin to slow and eventually stop. "There we go. No, I did not need your help. Just had to wait for someone. Right this way." The gnome says as he guides you all through the blade room. He leads you into another room with a cliff. As you enter you hear and see an argument between a male and female gnome.
Female: "No, there's no way we can build a sanity ray! And how would we even know if it works! I propose something I call... A straightjacket."
Male: "What on earth is a straightjacket"
Female: "It's like armor, but the arms can be strapped to the jacket to stop movement. That for sure should allow us to help the King's Curse!"
The Gnome guiding you points over to the other two. "Those 2 are the ones who can help you."
"Fibblestib and Dabbledob, I presume?" says Morgan. "I am Morgan, and these are my companions Leareth, Gale, and Geralt. We just recently killed the Mimic in your wine cellar at the request of your associates, and we seek the help of the Gnomes of Gnomengarde on behalf of Phandalin and her Townmaster, Harbin Wester. May we come in and discuss?"he says by way of introduction.
The female gnome looks over to you and waves you over. "I'm Dabbledob, you can come over. But can you tell this idiot here that a straightjacket would be the best cure of the King's Curse!"
”I know of straightjackets used as a restraint for people with mental illnesses, but it keeps them from injuring themselves, it does not cure them,” begins Morgan, unsure of the parallels between this world and his own. “However, I would need to know of this King’s Curse in more detail before I could comment further. I am something of a physician myself.”

Leareth shook his head and spoke as if he knew what he was talking about. "Problem with the sanity ray is it doesn't cure the patient. You know? Something's messing up the mind and the ray just counteracts that - if it's even strong enough. But stop the ray and the problem goes right back. Straightjacket's no solution either, though it might stop the patient from harming himself and others. You have to go to the root of the problem - what's the cause? Remove the cause and the effects resolve on their own." He paused. "Oh, I'm Leareth, nice to meet you. Maybe we can help with your problem somehow?"
"I'm Gale. It's nice to meet you." He pauses for a moment and nods toward Leareth and Morgan. "If you want our advice, I would stick with what these two tell you. My troop back home handled that type of thing a completely different way." He looked toward the gnomes. "But I agree with these two, I've never known a straight jacket to be a cure." Then looking at Leareth with a questioning look he adds, "But that sanity ray sounds fun... Well, on someone other than me that is."

The female gnome slaps the male gnome and shouts at him. "I told ya Fibble, even these strangers know a good idea from a bad one." Saying this as if the others didn't say the straightjacket was a bad idea. "I'm Dabbledob" the female gnome says. "And this here is Fibblestib, as you probably heard, we're trying to figure out a way to cure the king. He seems to be under the impression that we are shape changers and won't let anyone in. It's even gotten so bad that he chained up King Gnerkli."
