Considering the others' comments and the exact wording of the job postings, Morgan moves up and pulls down the Umbarge Hill Quest. He suggests, "Perhaps if we go speak with Adabra and convince her to come back to town, we can escort her here and collect the reward. If that goes well, we can use that gold to negotiate with the Gnomes for a device to help against the dragon. Lastly, we could visit the dwarves and warn them--doesn't say we have to bring them back to town--and if the dragon shows up, we can try to help drive it off with the Gnomish device."
Holding up his hands, he says, "Now, I know it might be best to get the item from the Gnomes first to defend ourselves against the dragon if it comes to that, but I expect the Gnomes will not part with a dragon bane item without some coin in return, so maybe the quick trip south first is best, unless someone has treasure hidden away that could directly fund us."

Drawing from your knowledge of dragons from movies and books, you know that. Atleast in fictional works, dragons seem to be lone creatures who tend to stick to a particular area. You also know that dragons don't only have to breathe fire.
As you are discussing what to do, a creaking begins to come from the door that the board is by. A middle-aged man dressed up as if he were a banker peeks out from the other side of the door. He begins to shout at the group. "GO AWAY DRAGONS! US TOWNSFOLK DONT MAKE GOOD MEALS!"
Leareth raised an eyebrow in surprise. He mumbled under his breath "I don't think that word means what you think it means." Then, speaking in full voice, he replied "Then learn to cook better!"
The dark elf bard walks alongside his companions as they discuss preparations for upcoming jobs, with his mind going wild at the mention of dragons. If creatures such as that are reality in this world, then just what potential does this new realm possess? Magic is real he’s seen it already back at the cave with the musical light, but just how powerful can it get? More importantly...how powerful can he get? Cillian shakes the thoughts from his mind as Dr. Morgan offers options to the party in terms of “quests” to be taken, eventually agreeing with group as they settle on two jobs to the south involving a lonely woman and apparent “gnomes”. Cillian nods in affirmation as he can only think of a single thought as he begins to realize he’s taking a job to talk to gnomes, to save a random mining town from a dragon. For solid gold coins.
“What the **** is happening?”
The thought is interrupted by a loud voice calling out to them as dragons and telling them to go away. Cillian will hold back a instinctual snide and cruel remark in response to the rudely interrupting old man screaming at them from behind the door. While originally he would’ve preferred to use his words to try and have this man realize how idiotic he was making himself seem, it’s important to play nice in a new environment. So plastering on a very practiced but perfect fake white smile he will call out to the man, responding to him in his thick English accent,
“No dragons here friend! Just a couple of new arrivals hoping to help the town by taking a couple of jobs! Say you have any advice for newcomers around these parts? You seem very knowledgeable from what I’ve seen so far!”
As he begins to agree with Morgan, Gale is startled by the man yelling at them. He gives an odd look to the fellow but stays quiet as Leareth and Cillian address the man. He chuckles quietly when he hears the two responses and quietly jokes to Leareth, "I dunno, seems like the townsfolk do make good meals," he laughs a bit more, "The last two meals I had were delicious."

As the door slams, Gale looks from the door to the others with a raised eyebrow and shrugs and starts slowly, "O... K... then... that was fun." He looks himself and his companions up and down. "No dragons right? Admittedly, we're dressed a little odd, but I don't feel like we're giving off the scaly-wingy-type thing. Perhaps there's more to this 'dragon' thing around here than where I'm from?"

"Perhaps 'dragons' is the name of a mercenary group or perhaps some kind of pejorative or adventurers. In any case, let's head south on this first quest if you are ready," suggests Morgan, feeling restless in his new and young body. Clutching the paper with the directions to Adabra's residence, he starts heading that way, assuming the others are ready to get moving.

You all make your way out of Phandalin and into the wilderness of this new land. Walking through these grasslands is rather peaceful. Birds and animals skitter about, paying you no mind. The cool air breeze brings a nice refreshing feeling. The sun getting higher in the air sheds a nice light, almost picture perfect, if only you had a camera. Off in the distance, a building slowly works its way into view, as you get closer, the building becomes clearer. From about 100ft away, the sense of danger can be heard, that's when you notice a large winged monster with a spiky tail trying to knock down the windmill’s front door. A woman appears in a second-floor window, waves at you, and yells, “A little help?!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Morgan:
Seeing the creature, Morgan is taken aback and tries to recall what he may have leaned about such creatures. As a scholar of the natural world, he is completely unfamiliar with the creatures in this new world, yet something pushes at the edge of his consciousness, flooding his brain with new information...
Nature: 23
Searching for a ranged weapon, Morgan is frustrated when he finds none, so he readies his shield and mace and says, “Hang on, help is on the way.”

Morgan, as you focus closely on the beast and think back to books and stories you have read, you come to the safe conclusion that it is a manticore, a beast with a vaguely humanoid head, the body of a lion, and the wings of a dragon, whose tail ends in a cluster of deadly spikes.
Morgan:
Manticores aren't particularly bright, and often very aggressive, but can be talked to and in some rare cases, can be talked into sparing lives if they see an advantage.
”Somehow I know that this creature is called a manticore, that it is capable of speech and can sometimes be reasoned with,” says Morgan, seemingly puzzled and amazed at the knowledge he now has. “Does anyone wish to speak with it, or should we just try to drive it away with our weapons?” asks the healer.

Leareth shrugs. "Or maybe the guy thinks we serve the dragon or something. Or just hallucinating... Yes, let's go."

Leareth didn't think they'd get far with talking with a man eating monster, so he readied his crossbow and loaded a bolt into it.
