Nodding at Leareth, Morgan moves up toward the creature at a trot, reasoning that if he only has up close and personal weapons, he must be reasonably good at it.

Cillian scoffs quietly in slight frustration as his companions engage head on to save this stranger. How very brave and helpful of them he thinks with a thick layer of sarcasm on his mind. It seems that monster slaying must now be added to his resume if he hopes to stay alive in this strange new land. He moves to get within 60 ft. of the creature, hopefully still ending up with party members separating him from this “manticore”. As he does so he feels a familiar muscle memory flow through his body from when he’d produced those Dancing Lights back in the cave. An ever faint whisper of another unknown song calls out to him as he searches his mind for how he might be able to deal with this creature. In particular for ways that wouldn’t require him having to run up and slash at it with a sword he’s not completely comfortable with. However as he moves he will call out to Dr. Morgan who appears to be approaching the beast for physical combat,
“You’ve got this Dr. Morgan! Try to avoid the pointy bits!” (Using bonus action to give the Doctor 1d6 Inspiration die.)
His dark grey, delicate hands instinctually move to unstrap the dark wooden form of his violin from his pack as he moves. Then looking to the beast, he closes his eyes for a brief moment and attempts to follow the faint but ethereal song he hears playing in the back of his mind. Quiet, but beautiful. Haunting. As the music begins to play the strings of his violin glow with whisps of black smoke as he opens his eyes. They appear all black, and look as if they are filled with the same inky smoke that his violin had been emanating. Staring at the creature he says in a terrifying whisper that echoes only in the manticore’s mind,
“The melody of your death will be beautiful.”
He casts Dissonant Whispers at the manticore at a 1st level. DC 13 Wisdom Save.
On a failed save, it takes 3d6 psychic damage and must immediately use its reaction, if available, to move as far as its speed allows away from you. The creature doesn’t move into obviously dangerous ground, such as a fire or a pit. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and doesn’t have to move away. A deafened creature automatically succeeds on the save.
Dissonant Whispers Damage (half on success): 11psychic damage

Before he can think too much about what is going on, Morgan is already approaching the beast and the music begins to play. Gale looks briefly at Cillian, wondering what he must have been like before, and what this new dark elf looking creature was actually capable of. Glad to know that, for now at least, they were on the same side. Gale pulls his bow out and nocks an arrow ready to draw and release should the beast move in any way that would endanger the lady or any of Gale's traveling companions. (Bow Attack: 17 Damage: 6)

The Manticore stops slamming against the door and begins to pound its paw against its head, unsure of where these whispers are coming from, but as quick as the whispers came, they left, but not before getting struck by a soaring arrow. As the arrow enters the Manticores side, it lets out a loud roar, now facing the group.

Round 1 Begins with Leareth, Cillian, Morgan and Gale, with Leareth leading the round hexing and attacking the Manticore with their crossbow, dealing 10 total damage.
The Manticore takes another arrow to the side, letting out a loud roar in pain. The Manticore then takes it's tail and breaks off the bolt.
((Cillian, Morgan and Gale, post your attacks when you can.))
((OOC: At the start of the surprise round, everyone was about 120ft. away from the Manticore. If you used all of your movement to get closer (Which I guess I don't see why you wouldn't of.) that would put you at 90ft away. Assuming the Manticore doesn't move on its turn, you are still 90 ft away and would take another 3 rounds to get to it.))

After he finishes the short tune that had manifested itself as black shadows flowing from his violin, Cillian will scoff in frustration seeing it still standing. Sliding it back in his pack he rushes forwards 30 ft., then moves to pull the portable hand crossbow that’d he’d seen strapped to his pack before. Although he himself has never used such a weapon, he feels muscle memory take over once again as he aims a bolt straight the the large skull of this Manticore.
Hand Crossbow Attack: 11
Damage: 8
After taking the shot he will shout to Gale, who he saw attack the beast with...a longbow? Guess we really are going medieval, thought Cillian as he calls out to his companion.
“You’re totally going to f*ck this thing up Gale! I believe!”(Gale now has 1d6 Inspiration Die)
(Reminder: Dr. Morgan also has a d6 Inspiration Die from my previous turn that he can use when he wants.)
Morgan rushes ahead and prepares himself for the Manticore. As Gale sends off his shot, it falls short and falls into the side of the hill, Cillian's makes it the distance but gets taken by the wind and nails the side of the windmill.
The Manticore screeching out flies out and lands in front of Morgan. As he lands, the wind and dirt from the wings during landing can be felt by anything close to him, after landing, it swipes at him with its claws.
In shock at the pain of the deep claw wound, Morgan stumbles to the side of the deadly creature in the hope that his allies will have a clearer shot with their ranged weapons. Barely standing after the attack, he fervently wishes he could heal himself, but his hands are full and the monster is in his face!
"What happens to the healer if he is the one who falls?" thinks Morgan grimly as he tries to hold onto consciousness.

Damn fool... Or maybe he just doesn't know how dangerous those things are. Not having a lot of other options, Leareth aims and fires at the beast again.
Seeing the Doctor take an attack from the beast, Cillian will feel his panic rise in response. Better if the monster slashed at the meat sacks in front of him, if he finishes them off that fast he’s soon to be next! In this moment of panic, Cillian feels yet another unfamiliar song flow through his minds eye. This song is different from last, peaceful and beautiful in its quality. So pulling the violin out once more, he puts the bow to string and begins to play the song he feels playing in his blood. As the ethereal song fills the air, the strings on his bow and violin begin to glow with what looks like warm sunlight. As he opens his eyes after playing the initial song they now shine with warm sunlight similar to his strings. He calls out to Morgan in a voice that almost seems to echo across the grassy plains.
“You’re not done yet Doctor!”
He then casts Healing Word on the injured Doctor rushing towards the Manticore. The light flows from the strings of his instrument through the air like liquid sunlight. Moving to wrap around the wounds suffered by the doctor, healing them as he feels only a comforting warmth begin to surround him. After the light flows into his wounds the light fades into the air, leaving a partially healed claw wound he’d just received.
