Kaseon moves near the fire to warm up and dry himself, standing near to Eve so that he can talk quietly with her, “So how is our beautiful warrioress? I hope my words of encouragement didn’t offend you back there, but you seemed to need a little help focusing, and I’ve got a knack for it.” Turning to the others, “Well, that was one of the most exciting first days on the job I’ve ever had. Is it likely to all be like that?”
Eve looks sidelong at Kaseon, trying to see if he’s making fun of her. He’s so hard to read. But he doesn’t laugh at her or tease her...
”Ha!...Sometimes I wish I was beautiful...”, she says looking back into the fire. And then more quietly, more to herself really, “Don’t you ever wish you looked different?... or... could be someone else, for a day??... ...reinvent yourself?....”. She’s looking at her hands, at her palms, opening and closing her fingers, like she’s just seeing how hands work for the first time...
She balls up her fists, and drops her hands to her sides, and turns to him. She looks right at him. Up at him...
”...It was great wasn’t it?!” she confides in him, her eyes sparkling, remembering. Her smile coming back, showing two rows of sharp teeth like a piranha. “You were great!... Your magics, your words..... I could never do that...”.
And as he addresses the room she’s stood beside him and feels a little more like she’s part of the team, smiling around the room.
“Yep! Us ‘uglies’, gotta stick together!” Eve says to Kanithar, laughing. At the same time, she properly punches him hard in the tricep, up as high as she can reach, to give him a dead arm, like a little sister would. She pouts a little at him and sticks her tongue out if he looks over, but she’s smiling at him really.
Kaseon smiles faintly at Eve’s quiet words of reinvention, “Ha! Its easier than you might think, isn’t that what we’re doing here after all? And you’re beautiful to yourself, isn’t that what matters? And to me of course,” the last with a mildly suggestive look up and down her body.
Eve agrees with Kaseon, “I guess you’re right...”, she says philosophically. “In a way, that is what we’re doing. Starting fresh. Making a name for ourselves...”. She smiles faintly at this.
And at his suggestive comments, she laughs it off, not believing: “Ha! You’re silly!!... But you know, just be sure and save those sweet words for the next time I’m fighting a werepig, okay?!” she says finally, but not unkindly.
And to Kanithar, “A tribe” she says, trying it on for size, “I like that!”.
As the evening draws to a close, Eve moves across to the Mayor, “I’m glad we could help you and your daughter... and the town. If there’s nothing more...? I think we all need our rest. You want to see us tomorrow still? What time should we find you, and where?”.
Afterwards, Eve says her goodbyes. She pulls her leather armour and boots back on loosely, and makes her way back across the town, and back to her room...
Once she’s safely inside her room, she closes the door behind her. She pulls the small rug by the bed to one side, takes a stick of chalk from her pack, and starts drawing on the floor. She draws a small circle inside a larger circle, but off-centre. Then, half in and half out of the little circle, she draws her symbol for Ipkiss. The whole thing is only a little bigger than a dinner plate.
She doesn’t know any summoning circles, but it makes her feel a little better when a little part of her room is set aside, in case anyone should want to visit. She knows nothing of the magics required, but she’s just made up her own ritual, that she hopes makes it a little easier for them to find her.
She pricks her thumb and lets one drop of blood fall onto the symbol. And she lights a candle and sets it down neatly too. Pleased with her work, she changes ready for bed.
She lays on her bed watching the flame make shadows across her design. Sometimes she sees something, sometimes not. She’s felt their presence already twice today, so she’s happy they’re near by, and haven’t forgotten her.
Edge watches the others start to grow closer and he smiles. He nods at the mayors explanation of the heads on the wall. He could not imagine doing it but they seem to hold some sort of sentimental value to the mayor. That he understands. Then he laughs when they start to call themselves ugly.
"Yes, yes. All ugly. Too small fur and too big skin" he says. "But that why you all beautiful too."
He gets ready to follow the others, but then stops and turns back to the mayor.
"Friend, mayor," he begins. "If more wereboar, need silver. Can smith coat weapons in silver?"
Garcis remains quiet for the most part as he looks around, pausing to take a look at the various animals and other beasts that show the mayor's conquests. As the large bear head is pointed to he examines of before as if on reflex, moving to slam a bolt into place on his crossbow, retuning the weapon tongue sling on his back once he finishes. Even in the safe area the kobold seems to be on edge.
Mayor Hulmar nods, "yes, that shouldn't be a problem at all. Honestly we've never seen such a creature here before, but having one show up in the city means we can't take chances. I'll send word to Janeg tomorrow. I'm not sure if you met him at the tavern, but he is our blacksmith. He'll take good care of you."
Turning to Kanithar, he smiles and points to a set of stairs leading up, "Right up those stairs are four bedrooms, the first to the right and left belong to my daughter and I, but past that is a smaller room on the left and a larger room with bunks on the left. The house was built to have a small guard staff for me at all times, but I never cared for the idea, so it stands empty. Anyone not going back to the inn is welcome to bed down in either of those rooms."
Senna:
You search the room over and although you know without a doubt some of your things have been moved, you can find nothing missing at all. you decide to call it a night and as you pull the covers back to climb into bed, you notice a faint outline of dirt in the shape of a footprint dried on the floor, the plush bedding hiding it until moved to the side. The print looks both humanoid and animalistic at the same time, with small spots before the toes where claws had touched the floor.
Eve:
Before you had left, the mayor had indeed wanted you to report to him sometime tomorrow at his home after visiting the patients in the Infirmary. No time specified, just some point of the day.
All:
I'll end the night here. Anyone wishing to RP before going to bed can do so, after everyone goes to bed, you may take a long rest. :)
As Senna notices the footprint she will think of creatures that could have made such a footprint. Does it look more like a print Garcis (smaller reptile print) or Edge (furry Tabaxi) would of made? Neither went upstairs long when we had our meal, not wanting to accuse them but not ruling them out yet either. Can she make out if its a small creature and perhaps something to match the shape with the type of creature like race or animal.
She will wake up early making sure to put all her things in correct place and take her valuables with her. Going to the Inn for some breakfast she will quietly eat her breakfast pondering about what she had seen and waiting for the others to start their day as well.
Eve wakes up early, washes and dresses. She pulls on her beautiful, old, studded-leather armour, and straps on her daggers and pouches. She practices a few simple tricks in her room, and makes a quick illusion or two. She also makes sure to flap the rug back over her chalk-marks on the floor.
She’s about to head down for breakfast, but then stops!... and remembers changing the appearance of her hands the night before.... She gives it a go again: speaking a few words in infernal and carving a sign in the air with one hooked talon. The effect is almost instantaneous: her hands turn blueish-grey, her arms, her clothes change to light robes. She sees the hair falling around her face turn from pitch-black to pure-white.
‘Beautiful!’ she thinks, but too noticeable, too recognisable... She tries again, and she’s suddenly covered in fur like a Tabaxi... ‘oh this is too good!’, she grins...
In the end she decides on a simple, plain, look. She disguises herself as a human farmhand. A simple work skirt with an apron over it, and plain brown hair: clean and ready for a days work! ((at-will casting disguise self)).
She goes to get breakfast at the inn like that, trying a new look on for size. She finds a small, empty table (quite near to Senna) and orders something to eat.
Edge cracks one eye open as sunlight enters the room. He raises his head off the bunk in the corner he chose the night before and then swings down to the floor in one quick fluid movement. All that work yesterday seems to have worked all the kinks and aches out of his muscles from the long journey to get here. He feels like his old self again, and like he could run circles around the village.
He picks up all his gear, happy to have brought it all with him before they left the inn. I wonder if the room in the inn has larger beds than these, he thinks to himself. It would be nice not to have to sleep with his feet hanging off the edge.
He then heads down the stairs just in time to see Kanithar looking around the main room.
"Ah, friend, radnoy," he says to Kanithar "Find food yet?"
Kaseon moves near the fire to warm up and dry himself, standing near to Eve so that he can talk quietly with her, “So how is our beautiful warrioress? I hope my words of encouragement didn’t offend you back there, but you seemed to need a little help focusing, and I’ve got a knack for it.”

Kaseon would head back to the inn and collapse in bed for the night.
Edge looks out the closest window and sees the rain still coming down. That makes the decision easy for him.
”Thank you friend mayor. Edge happy stay here tonight. Get good sleep.”
Edge then gathers his gear and heads up the stairs after Kanithar and calls it a night.
