"Edge think go blacksmith," Edge says to Kanithar, "then blacksmith point fisherman boat and house."
Edge then takes one last look at the infirmary and the patients, bobs his head up and down. He knows this is a somber time and the stakes are high, but he can't help but feel the energy flowing inside him at the prospect of the mystery of this disease and where it comes from and how to stop it. This plus the mysterious footprint in Senna's room. And wereboars too. This trip to Rashemen is proving more interesting than he could have ever hoped for.
Then Edge heads to the door and goes out into the village square to find the blacksmith and hopefully get a hold of some silvered weapons.
Kaseon looks to the others, "I don't know that there's anything we can do here, why don't we give them some space. If you come with anything we can do to help, please let us know." And he'll gesture for the others to follow him outside, if any of them do, he'll ask the group, "We should probably spend some time getting to know the town, do we want to stay together and wander around to get the layout and then start trying to get to know the people or split up and have some get to know the lay of the land while the others start talking to the townsfolk and then meet up somewhere private to exchange what we discover?"
Seeing that his offer of a potion was ignored, Garcis shrugs and returns the vial to his pack. He crosses his arms and waits to hear more of what can he done. To be safe he makes sure to keep a distance between himself and those afflicted with the strange sickness.
After Senna finishes looking at all the scrolls remembering their uses from the Order she sees Garcis tuck his potion back.
A good offer Garcis but it seems healing was already attempted. And by the look of these spellscrolls it cant be treated like a disease or as poison.
She looks puzzled.
I could cast these spellscrolls but if you have already tried this will be of no use. Holding up the palms of her hands in frustration. Edge is right, we should try and find a source.
Eve looks up at Kanithar confused. As he looks straight in her eyes, she holds her head facing straight at his, but her eyes flit from his, over his shoulder; then left, up, down... like she’s trying to calculate a hard sum, and the numbers are all around him. Her eyes finally settle back on his... “You’re going to the blacksmiths??.... Go and make you’re preparations. I’ll be along in a minute...”.
”Take this...”, she rummages in her satchel and brings out her signal whistle. She presses it into his hand and says earnestly: “You need me, you blow on this ok...”. And she lets him go.
When some of the party have headed out to the blacksmiths, Eve just has a quick look around the infirmary for a naked flame. A candle. A fire.... If she sees one, she’ll take a few moments, head bowed, eyes closed. Silently beseeching Ipkiss for answers. Not really expecting a response, or answers right now, or anything really. But she lingers a moment just in case. Then turns to catch up with the others.
Ramevik turns as he is leaving and nods at Eve, "Bless you for your caring nature. I'm not sure just yet. Let me check my supplies and I'll let you know what we can accomplish ok?" He turns to leave and a worried frown settles on his face as he hastily heads towards his shop.
Imzel watches him leave and says, "He's very worried about his friend, don't mind his brusk nature, he means well." When asked how contagious the sickness has been, Imzel shakes her head, "It's very odd, it doesn't seem to be contagious at all. I've spend enough time around them to know. How they are getting sick when it doesn't seem to be contagious is honestly the biggest question here."
She nods at the door and says, "I'll hold down the fort here if you wanted to visit the blacksmith, his name is Jander and I'm sure he will help in any way he can."
Eve:
As you turn to leave, you feel the wash of heat on your back and the feel of two small clawed feet clamp down on your shoulder and you hear a whisper in your ear. (PM incoming)
Eve smiles at the comforting presence behind her, and the spiky feeling of tiny claws on her shoulder. She nods thoughtfully and inclines her head onto her right shoulder, nuzzling it against something (nothing?), for a second.
Then she sets off. Not in a blind panic as before, but calmly.
“We’ll be back as soon as we have any news. And if you need us, send for us...”, she calls out as she leaves.
She makes her way calmly across the small village to catch up with her companions at the blacksmiths. She makes a mental note to speak with them when she can.
Coming out of the infirmary, you turn right and back into the square and Tools & Tinkers is there on the corner. You feel the heat from the forge and hear the clanking of smithing hammers. Under a large awning stands a tall dark skinned man hammering a large sword into shape along with a gnome. Behind them hanging on the wall are several more greatswords along with a mix of other weapons. They stop hammering as you step up and nod. "Well met heroes, what can we do for you?"
While they're all getting weapons dealt with, Kaseon is going to try and circulate around the townsfolk, looking as much for gossip as concerns of and dangers to the townsfolk.
Edge smiles at the two smiths and their handiwork.
"Hello friends. Edge is name," he starts. "Mayor say you do good work. Last night we fight wereboar. But Edge not have magic or silver weapon. Edge not much help."
He looks around the workshop.
"Can smiths put silver on Edge weapons? Maybe help next time."
Garcis will look around at the weapons before turning his attention to his crossbow that is carefully held on his back. He then goes to reach into his pack but stops and instead looks at the other weapons once more. "I think I am fine with my crossbow."
Edge: Jander ponders for a moment and nods, "I don't see that being a problem. I've done it before, but not for many years now. If you want to leave the weapons with us we should be able to have them done by tonight. We just have to finish up this batch of weapons for the merchants guild real quick."
Garcis: The gnome watches you fiddling with your bag and smiles. He steps over while Jander is talking to everyone else and whispers to you. "Did you need help with anything?" He points at your bag. "Something in there you need worked on or silvered?" He stops and thinks before looking apologetic, "Excuse my rudeness, my name is Krellix, well met."
Kaseon: As you mingle around the people coming and going, you hear some folks talking about the town being too close to a dangerous place like the Ashenwood but glad to have new heroes protecting the town.
Eve is on her way across to the blacksmiths. She’ll be over that way in a second. As she wanders through the streets, she takes a look around her and this new outpost village...
((I was just wondering, what sort of people do we see in this new town? Are they just workers and guards? Or any families? Children and pets? Also, are they all human? Any other Tieflings? All just things Eve might casually notice. Thanks))
Kanithar: Jander shakes his head when you ask about armor. "We've been working on contract for Immilmar for weeks now but we started on armor first and the merchant's guild already bought everything we made. We've been working on an order of swords this last week. I do have this though." He goes inside and comes back out with an Iron Targe about 20 inches in diameter. "This one is brand new, normally 10 gold, but for the heroes of the town, 5 gold instead?"
Eve: You see some families, but very few children. Almost all have a purpose and work various jobs around the town. Rashemen has always been almost exclusively humans, but over the last decade or so they have become trusting of more races and a bit of all races are present throughout the country, though this town is primarily human. You have seen only one pet, which is Ridley's wolf, and no other tieflings.
Edge: Jander takes the rapier and dagger and carefully wraps them in a white cloth before placing them on a nearby shelf before going back to the forge and picking up another one of the greatswords to work on. Looking to the west, you can see the docks about a five minute walk away at the corner of Lake Ashane and the River Ashan.
As most of the group is inside the blacksmith checking their wares Senna moves to Jander, Would you happen to know anything about the guard Vergut that got ill a week ago?
She looks at both their expressions as she asks this. Was there anything out of the ordinary the day or days before he fell ill?
Thinking the blacksmith might be closest to the guard instead of the others that are sick.

Edge takes out his rapier and one of his daggers and leaves them with Jander.
