Cifray steps up from the back of the group, bolstered a little by Pin's earlier pep-talk. "I don't think that talking to them will help much. If they were the diplomatic sort then they wouldn't be holding one of our friends captive. I think we should all cross together and sneak closer to see if we can find Moskov in there."

So it is. We sneak down the river a bit, swim across at an opportunistic looking point, and then shall try to stealth back towards the area we saw the people. Hopefully Shadow can get Cazoon to scout ahead to scout and try to confirm they are holding our person and find out where, and hopefully Corwin can do the same. The rest of us shall stay at the ready and listening hard in case we need to come in armed for bear...
Survival / Athletics / Nature roll for swimming across (all same modifier) : 19
The party hunkers down, taking note to weave through what trees they could to obscure them further. After a minuite they make it about halfway down the pass, some dirt under Gorm's foot gets loose and she learly looses her balance. Cifray, seeing this reaches her hand out to try and grab her and keep her from falling. Instead, the dirt from under her gives way and she nearly falls, letting out a small yelp in distress as Pin quickly covers her mouth.
The woman standing closest to the river looks to the party's direction. "Who's there?"

Shadow will quietly whisper instructions to Cazoon and he will wriggle out of the cover in to the sight line of the woman. Hoping that she will assume he is a wild animal and that he made the noise.

Pin walks out with her hands raised and visible "Don't be alarmed, I just stumbled a bit. Got a bit lost heading down river. Tell me, do any of you know the way back to the city?"
Cazoon tumbles out into the open. The woman blinks a few times before shaking her head, "Gods, this forest is weird." And then Pin steps out. The two women next to her scoff and continue to fiddle with their weapons, but the one in the center stays poised. Her eyes narrow as she takes a step back to get a better look at the halfling. "Well for one, you're going the wrong way." She gestures to her left with one of her pistols. "Also...what's wrong with that snake? Are those...wings." At the mention of wings, the six men and two other women slowly stand to their feet.
Cazoon tries to look innocent and harmless, this is something that doesn’t come natural to him and he ends up looking a bit confused. Then as he hear Pin call his name he will fly up on her shoulder and relaxes.
In her hiding spot Shadow bury her face in her paw, considering giving Cazoon some training in acting once this is done.

Pin watches as some of the men go and reach for daggers at their side. At that point, she mutters something under her breath and the men take their hands away from their weapons. One of the women approaches the one who was talking with Pin and says, "Aren't we looking for a flying snake, too?"
She looks to her companion, looks back up at Pin then back to her. "Yeah, but...that's probably not it."
The woman goes wide-eyed. "How many flying...hold on..." She leans in closer to the woman's face, then turns back up to Pin. "That's a pretty exotic pet. I've never seen one in these woods. Where'd you get it?"
From hiding, Corwin watches and listens to the interactions as best he can. Tricky back and forth like this is not his strong suit, so he keeps quiet for now.
Gorm just holds her position. She thinks she's unseen so far and if so would rather keep it that way. But she does subtly move her hand to her short sword and readies herself to attack the person closest to Pin if things seem to get.... short sword required.

"I imagine it might be the same snake. But if you're looking for the previous owner I can't help."

(I have my opinions, but my character would default to simple majority.) "I vote sneaky, who's with me?"
