"Yes, my suspicions were correct. The mist is in fact sentient. It's closing in on us. We need to move." Thadalas says to the others, without realizing where they need to move to, and that's when he realizes the girl mentioned a monster in her house.
"Is the monster in your house a werewolf? We're werewolf hunters."Thadalas tries to reassure the crying girl, peering over his shoulder at the mist.
“The werewolves inside the house and two children without their parents.” He said to himself. Lucan’s mind then instantly transported to that night, the night he sees a werewolf come out from his father’s study, leaving a pool of blood behind.
He then reassure the children. “We will take care of the monsters, can you guide us to the house?”
Rudick side-eyed Lucan for the request, only to almost immediately brush it off as some smokescreen to calm the children. That, or the man hadn't really cared about the current woes of the children. Either way, once the girl declared there was a monster in the house, the Orc could care even less about anything less. "Whatever it is, its dead." He stated firmly afer rising back to his feet, still looking towards the house. "And wherever they are, those parents better have a darn good excuse."
Without another word, Rudick strode forth for the indicated home with shield firmly presented and the other hand balled into a tight fist as if ready to deck the so called monster, if it should dare to come bursting out of the home. If not, he kept at a brisk pace to the door, and right on inside if isn't locked.

”Err, wait, perhaps a little more information before we go barging in....”
His voice trails off as Rudick charges towards the house.
Sergei is hoping for more information from the children. As he talks to them, can Sergei identify anything usual or unusual about the children’s emotional state, appearance, cut of their clothes, speech/accent, etc?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing that they just seem like two scared children and thinking that he was acting like some scared child himself in front of them all, Alev peeks out from where he was hiding and waves his hand to the kids. "Hello there!"He greets them, trying to sound as friendly as possible. "My name is Alev, and these guys..."He says, refering to the companions he had closest at the moment. "...are Lucan, Thadalas and Sergei. Small guy over there is Skip, and the scary dude you saw just now is Rudick, don't mind him, he doesn't bite. We're all friends here, and we just want to help. What are your names?"
As he asks, he silently scrutinizes the two of them, to see if they are hurt or if they could be hiding something.
The girl says, "My name is Rose. Rosavalda Durst. This is my brother Thornboldt, Thorn for short. We don't know what the monster looks like, but Mother and Father said they trapped it in the basement."
A look of horror suddenly dawns on Thorn's face. He tugs on Rose's sleeve and says in a panic, "We left Walter in the nursery!" He turns to you. "Can you get him please?!?! He is only three."
Rose looks to be about 10 while Thorn is about about 7. Thorn is wearing what looks like heavy purple jacket with fur lining. His hood is up, and the doll he is holding under one arm is a humanoid shape made of white cloth and stuffed. It has two button eyes. His other hand is to his side and behind Rose. It is easy to tell he is scared.
Rose is wearing a high and wide collar purple dress that goes to her knees. It fans out of the bottom. She is wearing tall black leather boots. She also is wearing a fine, red cloak with a gold clasp. She looks scared, but is trying not to show it.
They both talk with that "Transylvanian" accent.
The house is three stories tall. You check out the door, and it is unlocked.
Everyone can now see that walls of dense fog are closing in from all directions, engulfing buildings in its path. Predatory tendrils sample the air in front of it, seeking flesh.
Either Rudick 'willfully' ignored the approaching mist, or judged it the lesser of immediate concerns. Because the moment he overheard mention of a Nursery, a guttural growl came out; a prelude to his throwing the door open and marching on inside to find this nursery, monster be damned. If there was any conscious concern or thought of the others at this point, it did not show in even so much as a glance back to the others. At least initially, before he called back to them without actually looking, "Bring them to the steps if you must, but hurry along."

From what Sergei can tell, the kids seem legitimate, and he is alarmed to see the mists closing in so aggressively. He will grab each child by the arm to usher them back inside the house, saying as he does so,
"Come inside out of this mist, children. We will take care of everything, just come inside."
Thadalas narrows his gaze onto the approaching mist, as if the mist itself is ushering us into this house. He ganders to the others rushing inside with the kids in tow. "Something's afoot here. The mist seems to be forcing us into this position." Thadalas says on his way inside. "Stay sharp." he says to the others.
Whether the most is forcing us in or not, we can’t stand by while there’s a babe in trouble. Children, where is the nursery and where is the door to the basement? Skip asks urgently
Alev stares scared at the mist surrounding them, feeling trapped. "Scary mist, a monster in the basement... When did this turn into a crappy ghost story?" He whispers jokingly to the group, trying to mask the rising panic he's feeling.
When he believes the mist is too close for comfort, he caws a word in an strange language he had never spoken or heard before, and a gentle breeze washes over him, the two children and the rest of the party in a knee-jerk attempt at clearing the mist.
"Everything is fine. Everything is going to be fine..." He declares, as his black robes ripple in the sudden breeze. He looks at the children as he says this, but in truth he's just saying it to himself.

As they are being dragged along to the house, Thorn says, "The nursery is on the third floor."
Rose adds, " We don't know where the basement door is. Father said it was a secret door. "
Alev, a burst of wind rockets towards the encroaching fog. You see a monstrous mouth full of wicked sharp fangs, all made of fog, open up and engulf the gust. The mouth retreats back into the fog. It continues to approach, maybe even faster than before.
((OOC: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Rudick already went inside before the rest of the party.))
"...Screw this!" Alev shrieks in alarm when he sees the fanged mouth and retreats back, following Rudick into the house and trusting that Sergei and the others would take care of the kids and follow suit. Basement monster beats hungry mist monster any day.
He keeps himself from flying away in a panic due to the shame that leaving behind two kids to save his own hide would give him and because he would be betraying a group of people who had done nothing against him so far... But mostly, because he's sure that whatever that thing is would just catch in the air and eat him if he tried to do that. He wasn't an idiot.
