You unlatch the oxen, and with the caravan of supplies, head to Phandalin.
The rutted track emerges from a wooded hillside, and you catch your first glimpse of Phandalin. The town consists of forty to fifty simple log buildings, some built on old fieldstone foundations. More old ruins - crumbling stone walls covered in ivy and briars - surround the newer houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in centuries past. Most of the the newer buildings are set on the sides of the cart track, which widens into a muddy main street of sorts as it climbs towards a ruined manor house on a hillside at the east side of town.
As you approach, you see children playing on the town green and townsfolk tending to chores or running errands at shops. Many people look up as you approach, but all return to their business as you go by.
Sildar seems much more at ease. "My friend," he says, "let us secure lodgings. I'm told Stonehill Inn is very quaint! Don't forget to turn in the supplies!" He then hands you guys 50gp to divvy up amonst you all.
PLACE TO GO SEE:
Stonehill Inn (Inn), Barthen's Provisions (Trading Post), Edermath Orchard (A home), Lionshield Coster (Weapon/Armor Merchant), Phandalin Miner's Exchange (Trading Post), Alderleaf Farm (A home), The Sleeping Giant (Inn), Shrine of Luck (Temple).
Hardi nods in agreement. "Gundren's a man of business, ya know? He'd want us to honor the contract. Then uh..how about that Lionshield whatsit, eh? I'd like to see what they've got. Really wanna put a wallopin' on those goblins when we find em!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"It's not even solely about honoring his deal. The person he was bringing this for could have more information on his little discovery" Coryn stated, agreeing that the Trading Post seemed like the best place to go. He kept an eye out, however, for anything that looked off as he entered the town. He was still a little paranoid after the goblin ambush.
Coryn casts False Life on himself 7, while keeping an eye out for anything that looked suspicious.
Hardi directs the cart and oxen to the storefront of Barthen's Provisions. "Alright, let's unload what we've got. First we better see if 'Barthen' is in, eh?" With that, he trundles up to the door way . "Hello? Got a delivery from Gundren Rockseeker for Barthen's Provisions!" He calls out as he enters the store.
From first glance, Barthen's is the biggest trading post in Phandalin. it's open from sunup to sundown. The door is open, and you walk in. Barthen's Provisions stocks most ordinary good and supplies, including backpacks, bedrolls, rope, and rations. He doesn't stock weapons (that's the Lionshield Coster).
Elmar Barthen greets you warmly, he's a lean and balding human male in his fifties. He employs a couple of young men, Ander and Thistle, who help unload the wagon, and he gladly pays you guys 10gp each for delivering the supplies.
You also notice that Sildar turns to you guys, happy the job has been completed, and says "In addition to helping deliver the supplies, I told Gundrek I was going to look around for my friend, Iarno. Thanks again, friends!" He waves and begins to depart.
"Master Sildar, wait a moment. Would Iarno have information on this castle we must get to or is your friend missing as well?" Brugo asks, concerned that another goodly folk could be missing. What was this world coming to?

"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

Coryn walked up and down the trading post, boredly perusing the wares. He found his fingers running across some of the smaller goods, his instinct being to slide an item or two into his pocket. However, he kept noticing his new allies in his peripheral vision, and he thought better as he remembered how, as of yet, the majority seemed fairly honorable. However, he did try and memorize the location of a few items, in case he decided to come back during the night to... procure a few things.
"Yeah, this Larno, what's his deal?" He asked, walking back over to Sildar and Brugo. He smiled, trying to be unassuming.
OOC: So how do we want to split gold that is given out in chunks? Just split it evenly?
While Brugo speaks with Sildar and Coryn tries to not be hella shady, Hardi makes his way over to the Lionshield Coster. If it's open, he moseys on in and will peruse their wares. "Howdy there, fellas. " He gives a bright smile. "What might you fine folks have for goblin bashin', eh? Maybe somethin' big'n heavy! "
Unfortunately, Sildar doesn't think Iarno would have any information about Cragmaw Castle. Iarno and him are old friends, and Sildar hasen't heard from him in a while. He last heard he came to this town, and is looking for him - as it's unusual behavior for his old friend.
Sildar will be in town for a few days more, should you want to talk to him again, or see him again.
LIONSHIELD COSTER
Hanging above the front door of the Lionshield Coster is a sign shaped like a wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it. The shop is run by a human woman named Linene Greywind. She welcomes you as you enter. She has everything for sale in the Players Handbook as far as weapons and armor go.
"Very nice place you have here, ma'am." Brugo looks around at her wares, finds a couple bags of caltrops and puts them on the counter before browsing some more. He eyes a grappling hook and places that on the counter as well. He gathers up 50 feet of rope and a piece of chalk. "Here's 5 GP, do not worry about the change. Just pay it forward to your next customers."
He gathers up his supplies and places them in his bag. Except for the rope, he ties that around his waist and crosses it over his chest.
"Linene, have you heard of anyone needing help or maybe any rumors that adventurers could make use of?"

Then Hardi will spend 10gp to purchase a maul. "Oh yeah!" He gives it a couple of small test swings. "This'll deliver a fine bashing, eh?" He grins, hefts it over his shoulder, and takes his leave to catch up with the others.
Cedrik goes with the group to Barthen's. He will inquire there where he might find materials to cast find familiar.
"Hello, I am a wandering scholar and wish to find where I might purchase components for spells. This is a fine little town, and I would like to hear of its history."
OOC: For treasure, there are six of us right? 600 cp, 110 sp from the goblins, 50 gp from Sildar to distibute. Is that 100 cp, 18 sp, and 8 gp for each of us with 2 sp and 2 gp left over? And then the 10 gp from Elmar Barthen for each of us? I don't want any of the left over so someone else can take it for their expenses. Tell me if I got anything wrong.
"I don't really need anything from the shop. Anyone want to head to the temple with me? I'd like to donate a little. Increase our luck." Coryn asked as he stood in the Coffer, watching as the others ran around getting their needed items. He rolled a copper coin between his knuckles, the sound of the metal object being almost silent as he did so. The Half-Elf was pleased that there was a temple of luck in the city, his own beliefs having pushed him to worship the goddess Tymora.
You all start up a conversation with Linene - at first she thought you guys were with the "Redbrands", but your demeanor as a group dispelled that silly notion. She rings you guys up for the new things you bought, and you get your components for your find familiar spell as well, Cedrik.
She mutters sadly under her breath about those cursed Redbrands...she seems a bit...scared to discuss it further.

OOC: I think that would be fair. I think we got about 67gp worth to divvy up. That doesn't count the 10gp paid to each of us by Barthens.
While Brugo speaks with Sildar and Coryn tries to not be hella shady, Hardi makes his way over to the Lionshield Coster. If it's open, he moseys on in and will peruse their wares.
