Sildar, unpacking in his room, doesn't know anything about the Redbrands, but is definitely concerned - he can't find his missing friend, Iarno, and the Townmaster doesn't seem to mind the Redbrands roughing up the townsfolk.
He suggests that, since you've all handled yourselves well with the Goblins and Klarg...someone's got to take care of those Redbrands.
Gundren and his brothers hired me to help them escort that cart we were all on to Phandalin, here. They were planning on making this place their base of operations.
It appears that they've discovered this..cave..that has magical properties. It's old, too. They were really excited about it. Apparently, those goblins want to know where it is. For what reason I don't know. I didn't have any intention to join them to the cave, because one - it seemed like a private enterprise, and two - I needed to come here looking for my friend who went missing, I figured since I was going this way, anyways, i'd make some extra coin.
Hardi sniffs and stands up from whatever chair he found. "Well we can't just leave these people to be lorded over by a bunch of hooligans, eh? Especially since the ol' Mayor ain't gonna help'em!" Suddenly Hardi has an idea. "What say we pay Mr. Mayor a visit? See if we can squeeze'em for some information. ya know?"
"I'll make you a deal. You let me try a more diplomatic approach, and if that doesn't work, you can smack him around a few times." The Half Elf commented, smirking over at Hardi. This wasn't the first time he was part of a shake down, so he knew a thing or two about them.
"Nah now I don't want to hit the poor fella. I'm just hopin' to maybe do a little 'bad cop' to scare'em, ya know? Or maybe persuade'em that we're good enough to take out these Redbrands, eh?" He just shrugs. "So sure, you're more than welcome to try and talk some sense into him. "
OOC: I'm still here. Don't worry about going ahead without me.
Cedrik after he completes his ritual, sees an owl appear next to him. "Hey, little guy. I'm going to call you Ruffles." He sends it into the air to find where his friends had gone. He quickly notices that they went to the inn and leaves to join them. Before entering he dismisses Ruffles so he does not draw attention. Speaking to whomever is there, "What have you been doing in town? It sure is nice to have a moment of peace."
No peace for us yet small one. We have problems to deal with first. Kyle fills in everything that happened while he was gone. He then goes to common folk and asks about the cave and what it might be.
"You want to be bad cop? I am certain we could have some fun with that" Coryn commented, winking at Hardi before he turned and headed for the door. Kyle was right, time was of the essence, and so he wasn't going to waste it standing around.
"We all headed to this town master to see what the hell is going on, or what?" He asked, turning his head to the others in the lobby of the inn before he headed towards the town master.

Sildar is staying at the Stonehill Inn, yeah..
It seems that everyone you've talked to so far has been spooked by the Redbrands here in town.
PLACES TO GO SEE:
Stonehill Inn (Inn), Barthen's Provisions (Trading Post), Edermath Orchard (A home), Lionshield Coster (Weapon/Armor Merchant), Phandalin Miner's Exchange (Trading Post), Alderleaf Farm (A home), The Sleeping Giant (Inn), Shrine of Luck (Temple).
After finally conceding that Kyle doesn't know anything he gets up. I'm going to talk to Sildar, see what he knows about this mess.

What do you know of Gundren's mission? What was he up to and why would he be attacked by goblins?

That's all he knows.

Did we lose a few players? I'm assuming people are busy. Just wanna make sure =)
OOC: Maybe just busy? I'm still kickin' around haha.
I'm sure. Just wanna make sure we're all on the same page and that i'm not blasting ahead while others are behind. =)
OOC: True true. Wish more people played on Sunday. I have to work, but there's nothing to do most of the time on the weekend.
OOC: We haven't seen Kriv in about a week. I definitely think he might be gone for good
Ok. I'd say it's safe to say we can, sadly, move on without him. I will continue once the other pipe up =)
OOC: I'm still here. Don't worry about going ahead without me.

1. You guys can either attempt to rid Phandalin of the Redbrands. (SIDE MISSION)
2. Talk to the townsfolk and take side quests to boost up XP (SIDE MISSIONS)
3. Head up to Cragmaw Castle in an attempt to save Gundren. He would have the map to Wave Echo Cave. (MAIN MISSION)
I'm hoping to hear from a few more of you guys, then i'll continue first thing Monday depending on what you guys decide.
OOC: I'm all up for side missions! WOO XP Bonus!
In character after the research, i think i would help the people then go after Gundren.
