DMs note: I don't normally use that because, for mechanics reasons, all it takes is for you to move more than 5 feet away from the creature to no longer have disadvantage. The Disadvantage is only if they're right next to you. So I'll always assume if you're within 5 ft that you move a little bit away before attacking. Just makes things easier for everyone

OOC: So then, out of curiosity, if Mika's attack roll of 12 hit, why did my attack roll of 13 right before hers miss? Not trying to be a pain in the butt.

DMs note: Sorry, I'm scatterbrained. I actually didn't say if it hit or not Zalmanni, I thought I did. It did in fact hit.

(Jasper's Sacred Flame attack burns the Giant Boar, damaging it further and leaving it looking pretty weak. It rears back and tries to attack Jasper!)

(Jasper's shield comes in very handy, as it manages to save him at the last second. The Giant Boar's tusk clatters against it and makes a loud 'thunk' sound.)

Thili, you're up.

OOC: No big deal, I can be scatterbrained too so I thought I had missed something.

A pep talk is muttered under breath. She can do this.  

This time she drops her shield, gripping her axe with both hands for a heavyhanded swing :

(Thili tries to get extra force by using both hands on the axe, but the slower swing allows the Giant Boar to deftly move out of the way.)

(Zalmanni lets another arrow fly, and this one twangs into a tree about 2 feet away from the Giant Boar.)

(Mika starts breathing heavily and seems to be getting bigger and bigger with every passing moment...)

Sicherehime, you're up.

"This animal is far tougher than I thought!" The large Tiefling remarks. Whirling her fans again in a sweeping motion towards the boar, she yells, "Tosho!" again, and the temperature drops around the boar once more. Sechirehime casts Frostbite on the boar.

You cause numbing frost to form on one creature that you can see within range. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 1d6 [3] cold damage, and it has disadvantage on the next weapon attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.

Jasper steps back from the Giant Boars swipe across his shield and lowers it to the ground. With arms reached out, Jasper utters Micantis Regia towards the Giant Boar.  A radiant flash of light streaks towards the creature and...

(Jasper's Guiding Bolt misses to the left by about 3 feet. The beast thrashes around before again targeting the biggest threat, Thili.)

Thali grunts with the impact but that only serves to steel her resolve to do her best to finish this. Two hands wind back and bring her axe down toward the giant boar again.

DMs note: Natural 20! Congrats! As you can see, your damage dice got doubled. 

(Thili swings her Axe once more, but this time her strike is heavy and true, and she manages to chop the Giant Boar's head clean off! The head rolls a few feet away and the group is left to survey the scene, having passed their first test of a battle.)

Jasper gasped with a sigh of relief after the Giant boar falls to the ground. Jasper begins to search the surrounding area for signs of life and turns to the others and suggests we find a place to camp for the night.
