OOC: that's disappointing.😉I was hoping for a sharp shooter ranger firing from behind the cover of my shield master but we'll make this work😊! I was invisioning me keeping the targets at bay with shove and menacing strike while the archer fills them with holes but ranged spells can fulfil the same role.
"Oooo...... That's a nice one!" Exclaims Barnabus as he slips the ruby into the treasure pouch with the rest of the loot recovered so far. He eagerly looks on as the two inspect the furniture pile.
OOC: Nothing’s in stone yet.... though I think what you are describing is more the Arcane Archer which is a fighter subclass. I’m open to any of the subclasses really. Figure out which one compliments your fighting style and I’m game.
Wil points out the scrapes on the floor to Kina so she can align her effort with them. As she is prying, he readies a dagger incase anything else decides to invite themselves to the party from behind the hidden door.
OOC: Or Hunter/Horde Breaker -- extra attacks with multiple targets
You notice a few inches of movement in each direction, almost as if the sections are on skids. A little more effort and you move each piece enough to review the edges of a pair of heavy oak doors bound in iron. They are obviously recently placed.
Pushing the "sleds" respectively out of the way, you find they move with relative ease, to reveal the doors, each locked with a rather study, and new, padlock.

Setting his shield aside, Barnabus balances the axe on its head with the end of the handle resting at his mid section.
"I'll give it a shot. Stand back a bit." he says followed by a bit of spit in a palm. A quick slap together of the hands and he grabs the axe. Using two hands he slowly raise the axe being sure to use the flat back side. Up over the head and down in a swift motion the red headed dwarf swings.
OOC: Bart the bird bard is now College of valor so when I give yall bardic you can add the bardic (1d6) to the damage! Or if you are getting attacked and I gave you Bardic you can use a reaction to add the d6 to your AC for the round! Suport bard ftw!
Bart is a bit left behind in all this, so he sits next to Cade, starts tuning his Lute and asks Cade "so... what is it like when you transform friend? Does it hurt at all?"

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OCC: I'll leave it up to you. I don't want to meta too much so if you think Barnabus would have been told which door had voices then that's the lock he would have aimed for otherwise I'll let the dice decide. Odd left even right. 9
(OOC: I would say that Barnabus would have been told of the voices if the DM had been prompt in posted about the voices, or we can do this instead....)
Given the relative height of the dwarf to the locks on the door, Barnabus takes a lateral swing, cleanly removing the right-hand lock, and coming to rest squarely in the body of the left lock. As he pries his trusted Fife's blade out, the lock drops open.
Both doors are still securely bolted against being opened from the inside, but the locks are no longer an issue.
Kina again sighs as she regards the bolted doors. "Hidden, locked, AND bolted. I'm beginning to think we're not welcome here." she mutters, then puts her ear up to the door to listen. Clearly whoever's on the other side would have heard the attempt to hack off the lock. She just leans up and taps the ol' shave and a haircut on the door in a friendly manner. Investigation: 5

You hear a muffled, "Help! We're in here!" Followed by a different voice, "shhh, its a trick." And a third, "nobody's coming, they don't even know we're here."

Yes, locks and latches are on the outside. All indications are that if there is anyone on the other side of the door, that cannot come through on their own.

Kina keeps her face near the door. "I'm going to open this up, don't panic, all right? We're here to help you, because 'The One' is a giant flabby whore that sucks rot grubs." she says, trying to put their minds at ease with a little levity. "Do you folks in there know if this door has been trapped in any way? Anything the guards said before opening it up?" she asks, not wanting to spring some kind of surprise by being too brash with her wish to rescue the people inside.

Similar to this on each door.
