Cade drags the body a bit down the other tunnel, then returns to accompany the others down the hall.

Bart looks to Kina and whispers "would you know how to put him to sleep. Maybe we should try to be more like you Kina" Bart softens his hand with the dagger but still has it ready and will not hesitate to thrust it into Junior's back if the case may be.

With Junior taken care of, the question of direction remains:  cistern, or barracks?

Or backtrack to the bugbears?

“I’d prefer we make sure there are no enemies, specifically bugbears, left behind us that could attack our rear while we are fighting cultists. I say we double back and make sure the bugbear room is free of bugbears or anything else that may hamper our, ahem, investigation,” Wil says with a predatory look on his face.

"Agreed. We'll have to deal with them eventually, might as well be now."

"Let's make it quick as we always do lads" says Bart with a strum on his lute.

Everyone roll Perception check.

Wil roll with advantage due to favored enemy.

OOC: OMG a nat 20! for something completely useless hurray!!

Kina gives 'Junior' a quiet embrace, resting her chin on the top of his head and holds him tightly, not crushing him, just giving him a proper, compassionate farewell.
"Goodbye." she says, before she expends the last of her ki to suddenly slam her palm into his chest, and stops his heart with her fist of harm. Swift and merciful. When he crumples to the ground, she clenches her jaw, fighting back the revulsion of using her training in such a way.
"Even if I did knock him unconscious, we've seen what happens to them. I didn't want him to suffer like they did." she says.
When she catches up to the others, she swiftly clops up behind Bart and hugs him tightly from behind. She doesn't say anything, and she knows she doesn't have time to be shaken. She just need that moment to set her mind to the task ahead.

Giving a heavy sigh, she prepares again for battle, though her morale is shaky at best.

Perception: Oh wait! I've had +1 to perception all along XD whoops. 3

Lol, of COURSE, when I roll with the bonus, I make it infinitely worse. Well, we'll just say it's because she's distracted.

Cade perception: 25 (if advantage due to smell then use this if it is better... 12)

Bart holds Kina's hand that reached around him without saying anything and just hums a soft tone as they move forward he whispers gently to Kina "I'm glad you are with us."

OOC: is anyone seeing that we just rolled 3 nat 20s?? holy cheeseballs!

Well, 3 nat 20s to see them when they're trying to hide on you .... sounds like y'all got the drop on them instead.

Roll initiative.  Barnabus, if you get a nat 20 on perception too, I'll make it 2 rounds of surprise.

Also, roll 1 round of attacks before initiative as a round of surprise.

Oh, it would probably help to know there are 3 of them.

"I meant tie..." Barnabus stops short seeing the regret in Kina and understanding that it was probably was for the best. He doesn't have time to ponder the situation more because Wil and Cade have both suddenly poined out a new threat. So instead of saying more Barnabus just lowers his head and goes to work.

OCC: I know I'm out of order for the attack but I figured a surprise round everybody kind of swings at once So just target the closest and if I'm out of line just ignore it.

Kina's initiative: 6

Kina is in no rush to attack this time. She hesitates, and, if she sees an opportunity, she'll attempt to flank, using their greater numbers to their advantage.

Bart will take an attack with his new bow to the closest bugbear to the group. Attack: 21 Damage: 5

Wil sees the bugbears and before they can attack lets loose an arrow each at two bugbears hiding close to one another.

Attack Bugbear 2: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
