Bart sstaysnext to Kina and whispers to her "Do not forget that you may not be quiet but you sure are powerful and I love myself a strong woman" and gives her bardic inspiration just in case.

If the outer side of the watchtower is climbable Wil climbs up to cover the courtyard with his bow.

OOC: Well at least I land on my butt quietly.....

Wil:  The surface of the tower is covered with sickly vines, a tug or two and you see that scaling would be a phenomenal undertaking, but are easily able to join Barnabus in the sheltered corner of the courtyard getting some cover from the gate door.

Upon hearing the whispered warning Barnabus will look about as if the whispers were unheard then move back to the rest to whispe.his own warning.

"We have company in a room at the top of the stairs though I know not how many. I'm pretty sure they know we're here but maybe not how many. Might I suggest that those of us less stealthy move in now as if oblivious in an attempt to have them confront us just so the rest can surprise them. Kina and Bart why don't you come with me and Care and Will can come in behind."

If in agreement Barnabus will move the door to allow Kina in. He will attempt to make it look like he is trying to be quiet regardless of success. Once.in he will go to the tower door and wait.

Wil readies himself to cover the other 3 and to cast Ensnaring Strike should it be needed.

Once the others are ready Cade will walk in, in bear form. He does not try to be stealthy.

The ox looks up at the bear, shakes its head and goes back to eating.

No sounds come from inside the building.

Several small pebbles fall from the top of the shattered tower, clattering around the corner of the courtyard behind Barnabus and Wil.  Rachel lets out a stifled yelp, pointing to a large hunched, multilegged shape silhouetted against the darkening sky.

OOC: Can Wil make out the details of the creature since he has darkvision?

Wil:  As you look upward to see the source of the pebbles raining down around you, you see ...

OCC: well that horrifying.

Barnabus: 13

"Well come on then ya wee beastie, me friend Fife would like to meet ya." 

Barnabus waggles his axe for effect.

OOC: Wil lets a wee soil out... kidding. Just waiting for the init results and my turn. So in 5e can I cast then shoot in the same turn or do I have to use 2?

Wil:  OOC:  I'd allow cast on action and releasing the shot as a bonus action, but probably won't need to on this one, it is not the most robust specimen, almost skinny by spider standards.

Rachel recovers enough to snap off a shot with her crossbow Attack: 10 Damage: 6 , just as the spider launches a stream of webbing at Cade:  8 , Save on STR DC 12 or restrained on hit.

The spider then jumps to the top of the gate door, which is unable to support its weight and comes crashing down into middle of the short passage between gate and drawbridge, facing Cade, Wil and Barnabus.  Kina, Bart and Rachel are at its back across the drawbridge.

OOC: MM, now that we are all fighting together, are you going to prompt us when it’s each of our turns In combat or are we supposed to keep track of that ourselves?

Zalmanni:  OOC:  Excellent question, and probably going to play fast and loose with initiative.  Rolled a 20 for Rachel and 14 for the spider.  Since only Kina and Bart had not rolled and they don't have ranged attacks, went ahead and posted Rachel and the beast.  Once you roll initiative, you can go ahead and announce an attack, I will incorporate any tweaks needed.  Barnabus and you still have attacks, and will go before Cade, Kina and Bart still need to roll, but Cade is going to put it down.

OOC: That works, though usually I base my actions on what others do before me. 

Wil holds off on casting Ensnaring Strike and just looses an arrow at the spider.

Attack: 8 Damage: 7

After a brief, and deadly flurry of activity, the creature collapses under the onslaught of attacks, and silence once more envelops the courtyard, punctuated only by the ox's chewing.

OOC:  It was obvious that the spider came from inside at least the upper section of the tower.
