As you relate your tales, at least those of you that do, a young human female dressed in chain and wearing an emblem of Helm (OOC: Clerics of Helm are well known as battlefield healers.) walks up to the Sergeant but stops to listen first. At a break in the conversation, she touches him on the arm, "Ah, Private Ravenhost," he says, turning to face her, "you have word of our remaining captive?" Looking downcast at his question, she nods, "he passed a bit ago. I fear that whatever was wrong, was beyond our ability to treat. If these fine folks are going to investigate the source, I would like to go along. Perhaps if I see the source, I can prevent or cure others afflicted."

"The ones who tried to kidnap me spoke of a 'One'. They sounded like it was their god or something." Cade tells this cleric of Helm. "Have you ever heard of such a religious organization?"
She looks over at Cade. "A 'One' you say? No doesn't ring a bell at all." She looks thoughtful for a moment then continues, "not even from my parents' patron Deneir."

"A healer would be most welcome. If we leave now it will be long after sun down when we arrive. So how about we go rest and ready any supplies we may need and set out in the morning? I don't know much of anything about a "One" or what any of this means. I do know I took a nasty shot to the head and somebody out there knows why. I want to ask them the reason. Also I don't like the thought of leaving Private Fischer out ther with no support. I won't speak for the rest of you but for me, I'm leaving at first light. What say the rest of you?"
Private Ravenhost looks to Cade, "True enough, cannot be that rare with all the evidence that has piled up so quickly. But I have never heard the reference before, so either it is a new and emerging power, or something else entirely. Frankly, I'm not sure which I would prefer."

Cade just nods his agreement. He has done more speaking in the last few days than he would have done in some time before this. He steps back a couple steps and just waits to see what the others are doing.
"This is sounding like it will take more than a short walk in the marsh to figure out. So if no one objects I'd like to make some preparations."
Barnabus will take his leave to go and gather some needed supplies. He go to wherever he can trade the ox he acquired from the kidnappers for gold or goods. The goods being replacements for whatever he lost during the abduction. 7 days worth of rations, some rope, bedroll, a dagger, fire starting kit, and a pack to carry it all. Any difference he will leave with the guard to compensate for lodging.
Barnabus: The Sergeant motions you over. "I'll authorize the watch to cover any reasonable amount of supplies you need. We can either stable the ox, or voucher it for you and find a buyer and hold the coin until you come back, your choice. Just please find us some answers." He places a hand on your shoulder as he says this, then nods and turns back to the group, waiting to see their decisions.

Other than the comment about the usefulness of having a healer, Wil had remained silent, listening to everyone’s stories about what brought them here. He looks at the group and wolfishly smiles, “The hunt is on....” and then teasingly at Cade and Barnabus, “Do try to keep up....”
Cade frowns at the teasing remark, unsure why he would not be able to keep up. He shrugs it off as some sort of joke those outside of the Shire do that make no sense whatsoever. "I am ready, shall we go now, or do we wait till the morning?"
Intent on searching the body, you do not notice the riders approaching. You look up into the faces of 5 men in Watch uniforms looking down. "Hail, stranger. What brings you out here?"

Bart looks up thinking "damn, today is just not my day" and says "Hello protectors of the realm, My name is Bartholomew Gale hailing from Birsk Village up in the Lands End Mountains. Pleasure to have your aquaintance, I seem to have found mysekf in quite a bit of trouble friends. These, now deceased men, attempted to kidnap me in broad day light, but through my percervereance and some luck I was able to escape. There is one still alive running somewhere in that direction (points in a direction he thinks the last one may be). Are you here to save me, O valiant ones". Persuasion: 7

With a rather distrustful look, the Captain says, "I hope your don't mind coming with us, then. We are investigating a similar report out of Carlisle. That you are somehow involved, whether willingly or not, you're coming with us." He indicates that you are to mount behind one of the outriders. The next day and a half is something of a blur, bouncing along on horseback behind one or another of the watchmen, until the late afternoon you arrive in Moorsedge.
Barnabus, Cade, Kinaand Wilhorn, and Bartholomew: The Sergeant, having been listening to the discussion, "Thank you all for your enthusiasm and willingness to help us with this investigation. I would have to agree with Corporal Ironheel, gather what you think you will need and get some rest. Feel free to expense any reasonable supplies to the Watch, and if you need a bunk for the night, we have space in the barracks." Looking apologetically at Kina, "sorry, ma'am, barracks wouldn't really work for you, but I'm sure we can find something comfortable. If you need me, I'll be in either the tavern, or the barracks." As he was speaking, the sounds of hoofbeats can be heard approaching. Looking down the road, five horses can be seen closing rapidly, three of the horses having a pair of riders each. The horses stop a short distance off and the riders dismount, with the lead rider approaching the Sergeant. The Sergeant snaps a salute saying, "Welcome Captain! What brings you here?" The Captain returns the salute, mutters "at ease," then continues, "a report came in to the capital of some trouble, and we rode to investigate. Along the way, we happened upon Mr. Gale here," he indicates the aarakocra dismounting one of the horses, "who pointed us to this cretin," pointing to a bound and gagged man, "who keeps mumbling about something called 'The One' and finally led us to this fine gentleman," indicating Fischer as he approaches, "who brought us here."
