Northlands Campaign

Wil:  You successfully make your way up one of the ropes to the top of the shaft, finding yourself inside what appears to be a very large barn or warehouse structure.  The ropes continue overhead into a pulley system connected to another winch here.  There are a large number of rough bunk beds here, as well as stalls for large animals.  All seem to be currently unoccupied.

Wil goes back down the rope and describes what he saw to the group. "Could anyone see me at the top of the shaft? Would you be able to see and arm signals if I made them?"

 (No issues seeing up and down the shaft.  It is roughly 50' top to bottom.)

(Also, while the group was in town, Rachel would have been able to make a Continual Flame "torch" for anyone that wants a light source to carry)

"Seems like we should all head up, not a good thing to be so far apart, and have so much climbing to do, if someone up there gets into trouble." Cade mentions.

" Lets just use the winch and raise us on the platform. That way none of has to climb." Suggests Barnabus. 

"I was planning to climb back up, over things, and signal when to stop and when to proceed incase anyone decided to enter the barn. If we all use the platform and someone discovers us we are sitting du... um fish in a barrel. If someone comes in I can take care of them, if several come in I can lead them on a merry chase while the rest of you pull like the 9 hells to get up there and save my skin."

"If we are all up there to begin with, then we can deal with whatever comes." Cade points out. "Let us get on it nad have it done before we have to do anything about others coming into the barn..." He starts to climb up himself.

(One person on a winch can lift about 500 lbs on the platform.  Winches on top and bottom operate in unison and can accommodate 2 workers each.)

Bart acknowledges Wil's attempt to be more mindful and also says "Either way I will stay and help beautiful Kina cause I don't believe either of us can climb the rope." He points to his broken wing hoping to make Kina believe that he is not just staying down because of her, because he wouldn't want to make her feel like a burden.

Cade:  You make it up the ropes with no issues.

Wil Climbs up the ropes again and once Kina, Bart, and Barney are on the platform starts working the winch.

"Aye it's a good plan. " Barnabus will wait for a second round if the three of them are too much for the winch.

With Wil and Cade working the winch topside, it is a simple matter to bring the rest of the party up to the surface.

There are a large set of double doors in the one wall of the building.  No other surface exits are apparent.

Barnabus goes to the doors and peeks outside.

The scene here is significantly different than the swamp you were still expecting.  No longer are there open pools of stagnant water all around, the land appears to be mostly dry, with oddly colored grasses and stunted scrub covering most of the ground.  The occasional sickly tree also dots the landscape.  Winding through this is a 30' wide dirt track leading away from the doors.

Wil walks down the path like....

Bart looks to Cade and Wil and says "Thank you for pulling me up lads. Don't know what I would do without ya." He gives them a subtle wink.

Cade moves to the door as well, looking out with the others.

"Well we won't find nothin' gawking." Says Barnabus as he heads after Wil.

OOC: well my precious post was meant as a joke to test some thing out but we can go with it if you want.

Wil walks out of the barn with a purpose, like he knows where he’s going. He looks around for other buildings and picks the one to head towards.
