I already rolled Init (13), in the post before Cleco8 asked for it.
I would say "escape", but we don't know where the exit to the arena is, right?
In that case, I would say head back down the hatch, open up every cell door we see (hopefully not too many guard fights), and hope the other prisoners even the odds for the future. Because right now, this group in the arena sounds like it is way beyond lethal CR for a 1st level group.

The walls are 15 ft, high and Valentinus is (presumably) already up. Bowlder and Droogan have the strength to climb effectively. We've got ropes and a grappling hook. We'll take out the announcers, and all but ignore the undead. Until they become problematic.
By the way, do we get any xp for fights avoided. That last encounter went smoothly.
I forgot about Valentinus saying he wanted to climb out. And Tilly acts first, so she is up the wall too.
I just realized that the problem is the undead act before the rest of the party. Whether they are zombies or skeletons (who have the same speed as the party), they are close enough to reach and strike right away. And this is not including the 2 announcers, who are probably above 1st level in abilities. Based on the description ("lots" = 3 or 4 or 5 per person??), it should be everyone dead by the second round, except for Tilly and Valeninus. If it is skeletons, and not zombies, then their shortbows make quick work of T and V as well.
I'm tempted to treat the undead as illusion, because if they aren't, I don't see a way to avoid TPK. (Unless I'm not visualizing the situation correctly.)

Mechanics:
The two men are above on the wall, the is a huge fire 25ft diameter from center, and lots of undead.
Countless undead, huh? Lets get out of this pit. Zomballs aren't known for their climbing skill.

Valentinus did get out of the pit, right? I'd help the others climb out, but I'm last in the order.
I say lots because they are mixed up with regular corpses, and so it seems scary, roll perception and i'll give you a number.
perception: 24
They'll use half their move standing too.

there are 8 skeletons that are attacking, but they do not have ranged weapons.
Tilly cracks her neck and knuckles.
"Ladies, f@#$in first, gents."
Tilly moves to the nearest skeleton (let's call him Dave) and starts the party.
Attack with shortsword 12
Damage 6 Piercing
OOG: I think 8 is a game. Let's mix it up and if things get dicey we roll back through the door.
They spread around the whole arena? I'm guessing its 50 ft in diameter. would that put a portion of them beyond 30 ft?
[Edit: here I thought Tilly had a thing for the announcer.]

So it is the skeletons turn, the undead warrior Tilly tied to hit slashes back at her, Attack: 16 Damage: 4
A second runs up and attacks Bowlder for Attack: 7 Damage: 4
And final a skeletal animal jumps at Yordis attempting to knock him over, 22
The rest are unable to reach anyone this turn.
Next is the Announcer 1, have him in a sec.
He puts some kind of magic spell on himself.

That’s a hit. Current hp is 4.
Bowlder is up, then Yordis.
Bonus action to Rage.
Pull out a hand axe and attacks the skeleton that was attacking Tilly. (Will do a hand axe in each hand starting next round.)

feeling like we could really use a map on this one. Let me know how far off base I am or copy and fix this one.
Key: T=Tilly, B=Bowlder, Y=Yordis, D=Droogan, V=Valentinus, As=Announcers, 1-8=undead, ÷=gate, #=glass, *=fire, '.'=arena, '-'=seats, '='=walls

headed to bed. After Yordis acts:
Droogan draws his glaive to attack Dave before he finishes having Tilly for breakfast.
Action: Glaive hit AC 12 for 9 slashing.
If the the skeleton falls Droogan tramples over its corpse toward the skeletal beast fighting Yordis.
