What about the roof? Is there a chimney or skylight or any access up there?

Tilly look at everyone then realizes she's the thief. "Right right right I'm f@#$in' going."

Tilly looks for a way to climb the roof and then does so.

Yordis helps Tilly get a good start on the wall, wondering how easy he's going to find it in his armour.  In case, anything goes wrong he also readies his mace and sets his shield.

There is nothing of use on the roof in terms of access point but it is not a particularly stable building material.

The idea was initially intended for levity, but once the words were spoken they couldn't be taken back. Suddenly, crashing through the ceiling seems like a great plan.

As always, Droogan will readily accept a new, reasonable, plan once posited.

"Maybe we should just knock," Valentinus says. But he's eyeing that unstable roof, too.

If we don't want to crash through the roof, Valentinus could try a disguise, knock on the door. Not sure what disguise he'd use, though.

"Well that sounds reasonable..." Droogan moves away from the wall. "Try this on first." He pulls the additional guard's uniform from his pack. "Pretty clean. I was able to rub most of the blood out at base."

No need to blow a spell.

Valentinus looks at the stained, used, surely unstylish uniform. "Okay. We can do it the old-fashioned way, I suppose."

Does the uniform look like it'll fit? And Valentinus will wait for the others to weigh in before throwing it on and moving forward.

Let's just do it, I wasn't overly keen on the climb but we should move before that fight back there winds down and people start wondering about the break-in down the street.  If it goes wrong we can just smash our way through and get stuck in.

Tilly climbs down an alternate path checking for other entry points she may have missed on the the way up.

I assume Tilly's still in her 'disguise'? Or does she have the fashion sense to have left it in a waste bin at the inn?

I imagine Tilly as not having fashion sense and probably preferring ill-fitting men's clothes.

Yeah, she hadn't taken it off, so let's assume it's still in play. 

Tilly's normal kit is a carefully crafted outfit that is flexible for her specific work, but also ambiguous enough to help her blend into crowds and be forgettable. 

Dressing like a ninja does little for blending into crowds. "Who picked my pocket?!" "Oh, it was probably that shadowy figure dressed in all black, right?"

Valentinus quickly throws on the guard's uniform (hopefully there's an alley or something he can duck into, so it's not like he's putting his on in the middle of the street?).

"All right. Get ready, because this might go very badly, very quickly."

Valentinus will wait for a moment before knocking -- what are Droogan and Yordis going to do while the "guards" knock on the door? He doesn't want to jump the gun.

Droogan waits around the near by corner, out of sight, ready, in case this goes very baddly, very quickly.

He readies his sword, but leaves the board on his back for now.

"Here we f@#$in' go biggies."

Tilly knocks on the the door (shave and a haircut, two bit)

"Oi, open up a@#$&$es, it's us!"

Looks at the others and shrugs as to say 'that'll work, right?'
