you were in your house then a merfolk comes into your house and throws you out. then leaves.
now you feel compelled to go adventuring because reasons idk thats how it works :/

I head to the nearest town and ask some rando if they are being plagued by any monsters from another dimension 

you go into a tavern and see some person just trying to relax and have a calm evening.
you go up to him and *calmly* ask if theres any interdimensional monsters trying to murder him and his family

he screams and runs off at the sight of a devil, and now seeing that without hearing you, everyone leaves. 

Did he have any food and drink at the table? If so, I sit and finish his meal. And then walk around the tavern collecting up leftovers from the other recently-vacated tables.

you now have an extra 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 days of rations.
i mean its not much different from normal dnd


the only person who didnt leave is the tavernkeeper. he's just washing stuff and seems completely oblivious to everything

Hey humie! calls out Chuck to the tavern-owner. This food ain't half bad. Say, where did everybody go?

he just looks up to you and shrugs

Alright, alright, I don't need a sermon, he says sarcastically. Say, I don't suppose you know of any portals to hell, or dark unmentionable things crawling through rifts into the nether world, or anything like that?

as you say that, he wakes up from being basically asleep on the bench
"smol lava rocc bois north" he says


then he falls asleep again

by the way, there is a dood in town who is an expert on this kind of blah, so if you want to ask questions, see him.

Chuck leaves the tavern and goes to the dood's house as per the map, knocks on the door and says: Oy! I got some questions! What do you know about smol lava rocc bois? Is that a music group or something?

you see the door open, and some dude who looks about 40 looks at you with quite a disappointed expression, then beckons you inside.

Chuck enters and looks around the house. Perception: 6

the place is FULL of books and bookshelves, as well as a very clean and polished coffee table surrounded by multiple soft red arm chairs. There is also a firepit in the centre of the back wall

Chuck use his Mage Hand to grab a random book from a shelf, then flops down into one of the arm chairs and listens to what the dood has to say while flipping through the book
