Fawn moves closer and shoots at a bullywug (Which one?) Edward impales the green creature next to him while singing away! Star (7) misses badly. The leader of the group (black) moves to the altar to the north and drinks a greenish liquid from a cup, then hides behind the altar. The turquoise bullywug attacks Velvet again with spear and a bite! (2-handed spear attack: 21 Damage: 7 :: Bite Attack: 17 Damage: 5) Velvet draws the short sword known as trail ender, looks the froggie in the eyes that is attacking her, and states "Alas you drew first blood, but, it is time I draw final blood!"Although it nearly dodged out of the way, she catches its throat with the tip of her sword and drops the creature to the ground! The blue bullywug, seeing its companions fall in front of his eyes, runs out and attacks 5 with its spear and a bite! (1-2=Velvet; 3-4=Star; 5-6=Edward --> 2-handed spear attack: 10 Damage: 4 :: Bite Attack: 8 Damage: 3) The red frog-man advances to the opening and attacks 4(1-2=Edward ; 3-4 = Velvet --> 2-handed spear attack: 8 Damage: 7 :: Bite Attack: 16 Damage: 2) Jimbuck moves past the blue enemy and strikes the red one, killing it!
I trust my friends to handle the blue {and red?} froggie and quickly (and athletically, I might add) sprint through the opening and in site of the black froggie to take aim with my shortbow. I must say, I'm a bit concerned about the green juice he downed and what kind of magic that might bring about.

This is getting fun! Who doesn't want to be surrounded by frog guts, it's a dream come true! Anyways, I'm going to change my weapon, shocking I know, to my short sword, and stab the blue frog.
It looks like I can get into the black frog's face. I move into the room and begin singing a rendition of leader of the pack, That 's when I slaughtered the leader of the frogs! I approach the frog with my Rapier at the ready and attack.

Fawn decides to get into the melee action and attacks with her sword, making a great whooooshing sound as she completely misses! Edward moves into the temple and is surprised to find the leader of the bullywugs looking hale and hearty! That green stuff must have healed it! So the bard decides to reset that and stabs it hard! As Star moves into the temple, she opens herself up to Attacks of Opportunity from the two bullywugs outside! (AoO 1: 9 Damage: 3 == AoO 2: 16 Damage: 7) Fighting iff the strikes and the pain, she sends a steel and wood shaft of death into the leader, killing it! Velvet, tired of the beating she's been taking, strikes out in frustration and pain, missing both of her poorly timed attacks... The blue bullywug strikes back at Fawn with its spear and then tries to take a bite our of shoulder! (Spear Attack: 7 Damage: 4 ; Bite Attack: 10 Damage: 3) Jimbuck lands two solid hits on the last bullywug (I forgot to remove the red one previously - sorry!) dropping it to the stone floor.
Peace reigns for the space of three ragged breaths, when suddenly two giant frogs leap out of the swamp, repeat the croaking sound you heard earlier from the leader, and attack you! (1-2=Jimbuck; 3-4=Velvet; 5-6=Fawn.) Pink attacks 3 with a Bite Attack: 22 Damage: 5 Purple attacks 3 with a Bite Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Observing the scene in front of me, I am grateful the Frog king has found death to be welcoming him home. I gaze as star and see that the damage she has taken has been too much for her to bear and she appears to be unconscious. I walk to her and cast Healing Word

Jimbuck
These green slimeballs have hurt my friend!! I'm so mad I'm spittin' nickels (someone told me that once when I was little... I thought that would be cool :)
While Star heals, I'm moving close to the pink froggie and attacking twice with my mace.
My sword seems to not be working, but that doesn´t mean I won´t stop trying! I move to the purple frog, retrieving my sword from where I had mistakenly stabbed it.
The giant frogs came in response to the bullywugs, but since none of them are left to control them, and you lot are hurting them, they jump back into the water and swim off. (Combat over! What are you doing next? It is late afternoon - you could probably make it back to the holding before full darkness. This temple is sturdy enough, although there are no doors.)
Oh my that was amazing! I prefer this type of fighting to what we endured in the cellars. The way the arrows were flying through the air, the daggers finding their mark in the distance. The mace of Jimbuck crushing its enemies. The blades that were slicing through the bodies of those that were doing bad deeds, to unaware people. This was exhilarating. They will be speaking of our work here for centuries. I will ensure this by the song I am inspired to write, once we get some meade and down time. I am certain the folks back at the holding will be grateful for what we have done. I would like to examine the frog leader to see if he was "blue feathers"
I would like to explore the temple for treasure and discover what these froggies were looking at. I don't mind looting a temple, especially one as run down as this. But, I will leave that up to you all. I will also use my last spell to heal Star a bit more. Once that is done, I am content with heading back to the holding if you all feel well enough to travel.

The bullywugs were going through the loot they took from Cromm's holding - just household items that the people would probably like to have back. The only thing remotely interesting in this pile is a ring that looks to be Cromm's signet ring.
On the altar are a handful of tarnished silver items common for temples - candle holders, an engraved bowl, etc. With some polish, you could probably sell them for a total of 125 gold pieces. In the statue of the crocodile-headed humanoid, there are two tiger-eye gemstones worth 25 gold each, and 11 golden teeth worth 5gp each! It takes a some prying but you can get these out if you want.
Finally, the rod-like object in the statue's hand is actually a bone tube - it is the size and shape of a scroll case but there a a series of six rings, each with six letters looped around the case, that rotate - it's a cryptex! On the cap is a riddle, etched in tiny letters.
WOAH! Who knew we had a master puzzler on deck?? I´ve never seen sometihng quite like this manuscript. Can Star the Master Puzzler crack this one?? GO STAR GO STAR GO STAR!
The script is indecipherable to anyone in the party...perhaps Daggerford's resident mage, Delfen, can help you!
(At this point, I'd like you to each write up a short description of your return to Daggerford. Will you return the stolen gear to the people of Cromm's hold? Do you do anything else to help them? Velvet and Jimbuck are expecting a share of the treasure...how do you divide that up? Feel free to describe as much as you like - you can even add potential adventure hooks or personal contacts for the future! Since we are getting a new player, you should lose one of the sidekicks - will leave it up to you to decide and write them out. Finally, when you're all done, advance to 3rd level!)
When I return to Daggerford, I immediately go and say hello to my friends and family that came to the town to see me. I think that we should return the stolen gear to the citizens, but I will leave that to the rest of the team to figure out what they want to do with it. I personally think that we´ve done plenty to help the people of Cromm´s hold, and maybe they should be doing stuff for us instead of us always doing stuff for them. I think that we should divide the treasure between all of us, but if Velvet and Jimbuck want the prize all to themselves, have at it. It´s not like I´m in any sort of need for anything currently.
On our way back to Daggerford, we retrieve the horses that were left by the swamp and head back to Cromm’s Holding and return their equipment and return the horses to their owners. The treasure taken from the temple is worth 255 gold pieces, enough for 51 each for Edward, Fawn, Jimbuck, Velvet and myself. Everyone agrees to split the booty evenly. As we travel back towards the swamp, Jimbuck and Velvet chat quietly with each other, weighing the pros and cons of staying with our band of merry adventurers or heading their own way with their share of the temple treasure. When we get to Cromm’s Holding, Jimbuck tells us he’s decided to stay and try and rebuild what’s left of the town, or to help the survivors of the attack find a new place to live. “I might be a thug, but I still have a heart,” he said. Velvet Elvis decides to hang with the group and head to Daggerford.
When we arrive in Daggerford, I head home to check on things and take a long, hot bath. Reflecting on what we have been through, I look at the blue feathers I took out of my pocket and set on the edge of my sink. It’s been fun, this adventuring! Helping people, meeting people, fighting crazy critters, even being injured and then healed by my friend. I feel more alive than ever! I think I'll keep doing this.
After my soak, I head to the tavern and meet up with a few friends from the Beer Maker’s Guild and have a tankard or two with a nice hot meal spooned up by Grizelda in the kitchen.
Edward after seeing the effectiveness of bows in combat decides to spend some time in between adventures to become proficient with a short bow. He also decides to purchase two daggers to replace the one that he had lost. He has also decided to invest in some studded leather armor.
The adventurer’s life is suiting Edward nicely, but he still enjoys performing in the nicer establishments within Daggerford. Edward reconnects with his mentor Neil and they write some new songs. Two of the new songs speak of the previous adventure. The first is inspired by the lizard folk that the party encountered in the marsh. This song speaks of the kindness and the connection the lizard folk seem to have with their human marsh neighbors. The second song is an upbeat number describing the amazing battle with the toads in the temple marsh. One stanza describes Edward’s amazing dagger proficiency. At the end of the tune Edward introduces himself to the crowd with his new moniker, Edward Stack of Daggers.
After a bit of time Edward is ready to find an adventure, he is running out of inspiration for new songs. Also the cost of the new gear has left him a little light on gold. The idea of a broke bard is not an idea that is appealing to Edward Vaughan Hendrixon!
After a week or two, the party of adventurers is starting to get the itch for more adventure. Plus, you have that manuscript with the ancient writing on it that is a puzzle waiting to be solved! You all find yourselves in the Lady Luck tavern (#17 on the map) again, and Edward is on a break after dazzling the crowd with his epic songs of heroic deeds! As the three of you enjoy a drink together (Velvet is out hunting tonight, but should be back in town tomorrow or the next day...) you notice a dwarf in armor sitting nearby. (Cue Flintborn!)
I take my last swig of honey mead, slam the mug on the bar, and wipe the excess from my beard with my sleeve. Although I’ve never been one to trust a bard’s clever words, it is clear that this group of adventurers has seen more action than most I’ve encountered in Daggerford the past several days.
The Gray Orc and his horde had passed by nearly two weeks ago. The trail had grown cold and this group may be my only hope to find them. I walk up to the table where the bard and two others are seated.
“Hullo my friends, my name is Garrum Redcheek. Might I buy another round?” I don’t wait for an answer but instead drag over a chair from a nearby table and sit, chainmail clinking.
“I’m in search of a vile creature that passed through these parts a fortnight ago - a Gray Orc called Grimlog. Wonderin’ if you might have come upon him in all of yer considerable adventures this bard here been singing about this eve - with no shortage of skill I might add.” I nod to Edward.
Fawn moves closer and shoots at a bullywug (Which one?)
Edward impales the green creature next to him while singing away!
Star (7) misses badly.
The leader of the group (black) moves to the altar to the north and drinks a greenish liquid from a cup, then hides behind the altar.
