"I was kidding Griz," Zira replies with a grin. "I lived on a ship in the harbor of Luskan," she adds. "It's far...far away," she finishes with a soft smile. Zira points in the direction Griz indicated the floating object. "Shall we go," she asks but starts to move towards the direction of the floating object. She pauses to look at the bard. "Thanks Seiren," she nods feeling the warmth of the spell wash over her.
“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
Seiren, despite her demeanor, seems very intent on being around the front of the group, although she's less leading on purpose and more so just wandering ahead due to being lost in thought. She hums the tune she heard from the trees in her mind then quietly murmurs random trails of thoughts under her breath, wondering about the magic in the trees and how it reacts to their touch, how strange the choice of music it was that she heard. She's mulling over all of this then abruptly remembers something and turns to Grizzle, "I don't believe I answered your question much, much earlier about what a prosthetic is." Seiren wiggles the fingers of her right hand and smiles. "An artificial limb, like my legs, to replace one I've lost. They're made from metal, although some have ones made from wood. Have you ever seen a pirate with a peg leg or a hook for a hand? Those are prosthetics."
"Does it hurt? Grizzle knew goblin with knife finger, he said it hurt, but Grizzle think that because he forget about knife finger and pick nose. One time Grizzle lost right ear, but found it again later, bad dog had it.", he says, wiggling his right ear, which does look slightly misshapen.
Kane continues walking towards the floating structure along with companions. As he walks, he asks them, “So, what are y’all plans for after the academy?”
"Anything but the family business," Zira replies to Kane. "Maybe it'll help be start my own business," she adds with a shrug. Then seeing Griz sprint passed. "Griz! Wait up," she says jogging after the goblin.
Zira looks around for anything any clues if they're headed in the right direction, any disturbed ground, or tracks.

"I'd be careful if I were you. I once saw that done before, and the results were not pretty." Enoch thinks to himself for a moment. "Then again... the smoke reformed halfway, which I don't think will be much of a problem this time. Inhale away. It seems not everyone is cut out for this school."
As we travel a little further, or whenever we take our next brief stop in the woods, Enoch exclaims, "Well I had hoped going to school wouldn't be so... physical. Can we take a moment to try and think through what the teachers said before sending us here? Perhaps there was a clue in their words that I just missed."
"Ummm... first lady say she was named Dean, and Dean made stuff go to rooms. Then boy and dogs that disappeared... Bunch of names of teachers, and different covens, but no one knows where Grizzle goes, until the one talks in his head. Mean guy didn't like being smelled, and shoved Grizzle, so Grizzle try to make him smile, but not know if it happen, because we get sent here!"

Enoch wrinkles his brow for a moment at Grizzle's explanation, but suddenly breaks into a broad grin. "And Grizzle, after we were sent here, we did two things, right?" He holds up two fingers to reinforce his point. "We looked at trees, and we saw the school floating too far away to reach in the time alotted. Didn't someone say something about a change in the magical 'feel' of the trees themselves? Perhaps that has something to do with it."
"How much an alotted? Grizzle can get there maybe two days..."
((OOC: 20 miles in 48 hours is totally doable! Normal travel pace is 24 miles in a day, that's assuming 8 hours travel at 3/hour. Forest might make it difficult terrain, which would halve that, to 12 miles per day. 8 hours long rest, 8 hours walking, leaves 8 hours for short rests, fighting through any encounters, etc, and we still make it in time!))

"In this case, allotted means how much time the guides have given us to find them." Ezri speaks up. For most of the time so far, she has been focused on thought, staring at the trees. She keeps her eyes out for game trails, foot paths, and different kinds of trails that might be hiding in the trees. "And yes. The magic seemed to be in tune with us. The reaction changed depending on who touched it." Survival: 8 /Investigation: 18 (Nature is the same as investigation if you want that instead)
Seiren chimes in, looking at Ezri. "What's still on my mind is why touching the tree made you fall asleep. It set off Grizzle's magic, and I heard, you know, music that was personal to me. Are you... often tired? No, wait, that doesn't make sense. Ah. I don't know. At first, I figured it was because the trees were meant to knock everyone out as a sort of magical rest, but... that didn't continue being true for Grizzle. I can't fall asleep through magic, so I get why it didn't do the same thing to me. It's just... curious."
(I'll have a go, too, if that's okay — Arcana: 18 or Investigation/Nature/Survival all have the same modifiers: 19)

"Not sure what's next, to be honest, but I imagine I'll be going home once we're done here. Zira, I see you found something?"
Presuming that Zira points it out, Grizzle gives it a sniff and proclaims that it probably wasn't done by any of the Academy teachers.
