Enoch attempts to use Silent Image to further obscure the signs of the enchanted snare. He thinks about it for a moment, then includes a thin yellow arrow along the middle of it to guide Grizzle, when the time comes.
Grizzle wanders out of his shrub, followed by a giant rat.
"Okay now Jimmy, remember the plan? Skitter down that way, and when Hoot-Growl sees, run back this way, but don't get trapped! Mister Enoch made arrow so don't walk into trap, that's for Hoot-Growl."

Seiren stares at the giant rat then at Grizzle then back at the rat and repeat. "... Hi, Jimmy." She waits for the others to get into a hiding spot and nods at Grizzle. "I believe the saying is 'people who aren't me first'." She gestures at the cave. "I'll be right behind you."
(.... Stealth check: 18) (edit: are u kidding me...)
Seiren shakes her head and smiles slightly at Grizzle's words. "Nice to meet you, Jimmy." With her earlier Stealth check, she creeps into the cave then casts Message when within 120 feet of the owlbear but not within line of sight (since it can go around corners) and makes... wolf sounds? Wolves are owlbear prey. Let's go with that. After she finishes casting it, she scrams.
You point your finger toward a creature within range and whisper a message. The target (and only the target) hears the message and can reply in a whisper that only you can hear.
You can cast this spell through solid objects if you are familiar with the target and know it is beyond the barrier. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood blocks the spell. The spell doesn't have to follow a straight line and can travel freely around corners or through openings.
The barking, screaming, and rat were more than enough to draw the owlbear out. It would chase the Giant Rat, into the direction that it heard the other two sounds, and found itself snared by the characters trap. The giant owl attempted to break free, but was unable to move much besides a little wiggling. The characters seemed to have some time to investigate the runes/escape.

"You go deep! I'll start on wide!" Enoch goes to with vigorous casting, book held open before him as his eyes unfocus, reciting the spell over and over again for as long as the trap lasts. Incidentally, he cannot help but begin to absorb the terrifying appearance of the trapped monster, the blade-like claws, the narrow beak, the hateful eyes and the grating, unnervingly blended tonal growl. After widening the pit, he redoubles his efforts to maintain a similar depth with Ezri, Dirt flying up from beneath the floating creature in a mineral fountain.
As the owlbear began to fall into the hole being dug, Kane was the only one who realized the true nature of the runes. They were dwarfen runes, enchanted with some kind of spell, with a dwarfen inscription on the wall. The runes themselves seemed to be in a way that didn’t spell anything out, but the inscription had two passages on it.

Kane, upon seeing the runes, grabs a notebook from his satchel and writes them down for future reference. He calls out, “They are Dwarven runes, but I can’t make any sense of them!”
Enoch spares a moment to be puzzled at Grizzle's display of magic, then returns to his efforts in digging. "If anyone reads Dwarf Runes, go to Kane now!"
It takes Seiren a moment, but she blinks and raises her hand, rushing over to Kane. “I can read Dwarvish!” She waits by his side for him to show the notebook to her instead of peering into his space.
Kane shows her the notebook and goes over to the wall with the runes. “Note that there are two passages...and I believe these runes have some sort of magic on them. I can’t tell what kind.”
Seiren quickly reads over the runes, translating them in her mind. She holds a hand out to Kane to borrow his notebook and writing utensil if he'll let her. "I don't want to read them out loud in case I accidentally trigger anything by doing so. May I borrow that? If we have time, which I'm doubtful because that owlbear won't be preoccupied for too long, Ezri can possibly do a Detect Magic to see what magic is in these. But that might not be necessary once I translate them."
