A word of caution, some people are here primarily to roll dice and smash monsters heads. I count myself in this category. I can RP pretty well when inspiration strikes, but it's not why I'm here. If you want to run an RP heavy game, with little or no combat, please be explicit about it so people don't have that expectation - and you don't need to bother about replacing them when they get bored.
I joined not so long ago and I'm interested in been a part of your Campaign. I don't have any experience in DnD prior, I haven't even been part of a Campaign so I'm very new to all this. But I'm ready to learn (I've read the Dice Roller and FAQ threads so I think I understand the basics of Play-By_Post).
I'm from South America, so I'd prefer if you use a group dm (or personal dm if needed or prefered) instead of Discord. But I normally use my PC everyday, so you wouldn't have to wait for my answers in the Caimpaign or dm.
I would love to be a part of your Campaign, I have a character in mind: a human variant ranger (I even have a backstory in mind, but I'm willing to change it if necesary).
Also, what are yor thoughts on the Point Buy sistem used here for the ability scores?
How big of a party should I shoot for? I find that 4-6 is fine but smaller is easier due to less wait time for people to all post.
Do I try a published module, or does the forum enjoy homebrew campaigns more? There is a healthy mix of both. The advantage of premade is the ability to use premade maps but you can always "borrow"
Do people just use Discord for OOC stuff, or is there a dedicated forum for that somewhere on the site? you can do a private group chat here and that is convenient since it is all in the same area. Other places are used as well and that tends to be more based on the groups preference
Any general advice on the differences between Play-by-Post and a typical campaign? Time is the biggest factor. Most groups are a bit more spread so there are often gaps between posts and patience is a requisite for this.
I spend most of my time as a DM but really enjoy playing. I tend towards a fairly in-depth backstory that allows my DM to use it as we go. (I prefer that to make things more individualized myself when I am running a campaign.) Often when I do play I am with people who prefer spellcasters so i am always having to play a tank. I am open to anything but do really enjoy clerics, Barbarians, and fighters.

Hey! You seem like a cool guy who knows what he's doing. I'd love to be part of your campaign. I've done a lot of PbP roleplaying in the past, but this would be my first time doing DnD in this format. I think I'd prefer it over tabletop because even though the pacing is slower, it allows more time for me to really think about my post and my character, and character building is what I'm here for.
I have an elf sorcerer that I'd really like to try out, but I'm flexible based on the needs and setting of the campaign. I also have a druid, cleric, and ranger--all elves. They're less developed than the sorcerer, but of course I would flesh them out more for the campaign.
My time zone is MST. Posting every day likely won't be a problem for me.
I have a question, though: it would probably depend on the players, but when you imagine the player posts in the campaign, are they ideally formal (full sentences/paragraphs) or informal (*actions in asterisks*)? I don't know if there's a standard for DnD PbP, but that might be something you would want to clarify if you have strong opinions about it.
I wouldn't say a little late. The DM here already started a game thanks to this very thread, so you're quite late, actually. And there'd also be a waiting list of people who posted before you who wanted to join. That list does include me. Good luck on other application threads though, this one was just a bit off in timing.

Hi,
If you are still recruiting I'd be interested in playing an elf ranger or wizard.
