Hiramat says, "Our deepest apologies your eminence", he's hopeful that title is appropriate for a Lizardfolk Shaman, "we've come to offer our services to your people in your battles against the vile sahuagin"
Gracy leads the way towards the Locath pool 'Maybe we try announcing ourselves from the water's edge this time? Give them a chance to come to us on their terms?'

Archibald chimes in. “Yes, we know that we can only defeat our combined enemy with spiritual leadership from the likes of you. Please aid us in our quest to defeat the sahiagin.”
Archibald will attempt a persuasion with advantage for Hiramat.
With a DC of 15, the merfolk are extremely vary of your diplomatic tactics, and immediately withdraw deeper into the pool. You get the sinking feeling, judging by their reactions, that you have most likely botched this first impression and further action may or may not lead to hostilities.
Gracy, Wilmot, and Klaus:
AREA 51 - LOCATHAH POOL
This flooded natural rock cavern is roughly circular and about seventy feet in diameter. The water is clear, but the bottom is covered with a mass of weeds so that the depth cannot be judged. A stone path has been carved into the west wall a few feet above the waterline. Narrow stone stairs descend into the water from this path.
Archie, Zmeya, Hiramat:
In AREA 20, a wooden table set against the south wall features a wooden bowl of fruit. A wooden bench is against the north wall, and in the center of the room a wooden chair faces the bench. Three lizardfolk in robes are reciting a sibilant chant. On of them is clearly a Shaman.
You have successful won over the Shaman. The children both look at you, further impressed with your skills at negotiation and not killing.
Archibald bows and slowly backs out of the room, not raising his eyes from tne ground. Once out in the hall, “Now, where would the commoners be?” (Lightbulb) He turns to the lizard children and asks in Draconic “Tell me little ones, where are all the adults workers and laborers. We’d love to meet them.”

Archie, Zmeya, Hiramat:
The two lizardfolk children think REALLY hard for a moment. Then another moment. Then they get distracted. Then they resume thinking. "(AREA 24!)"one of them squeaks out.
“Most excellent little one.” Archie says in Draconic smiling. “Let’s go.” On the way, he talks to the children. “So...if you’d have to pick out tne strongest individual in area 24, who would it be? Or maybe the smartest?”
'No need to be embarrassed by friend, you couldn't have known you'd spook them so bad. You're still our best chance of making friends with the Locath.'
Gracy pats Klaus on the shoulder as they walk down the hallway. 'Wilmot and I here will follow your lead and back your play on this one too.'
Zmeya feels her cold Yuan-Ti heart to crack while watching over those adorable Lizardfolk children. All her years in her Yuan-Ti homeland had been of strife and murder. Those with emotions were sought out and killed. She decides to pledge herself to the Lizardfolk's cause, continuing to give those Lizardfolk children mock sparring lessons.
The lizardfolk children look up at Archibald, they're paying attention - you think, but they might not be comprehending what you're saying. They shrug - they have no idea.
AREA 24 - NURSERY
A bustle of activity fills this room, and it is fairly noisy — over a dozen lizardfolk adults and hatchlings mingle and play here. This appears to be a large nursery, with adult lizardfolk and hatchlings distributed throughout the area in small groups. The young play or sleep while the adults chat, drink, and oil their bodies. Straw mattresses are scattered around the floor. Wooden tables hold earthenware cups, mugs, pitchers, and clay bowls filled with wild flowers. Chairs sit beside the tables, with wooden stools here and there.
When you enter, the lizardfolk children hold Zmeya and Archibald's hand and lead you to their playmates, the ones who are awake, and make the best introductions they can despite how excited they are to lead you to them.

Archibald takes a knee and performs a similar magic trick to the one he did earlier with a silver piece and gives it to one of the kids. As he’s doing this he scans the room for a potential commoner leader.
Klaus straightens his back a bit and smiles. “Thank you for your confidence, Gracy. Maybe you could suggest a better way for me to make an introduction? Wilmot, do you have any suggestions, too?”
The room seems to contain a random mix of lizardfolk commoners, none of whom look impressive or different than one another. However, most of the lizardfolk toddlers approach and watch Archie perform some amazing magic tricks. They giggle and squeal in delight. Some of the commoners approach, a bit wary of visitors, but not immediately hostile or distrustful.
Hiramat takes the opportunity of the crowd gathering and says to the lizardfolk commoners "Behold, Archibald the Magnificent!, entertainer of children, he does name-day parties as well folks"
He then looks at the gathered adults, "Actually we're here to offer our services to you, the lizardfolk people of this land, in your fight against the devilish sahuagin. We know more than just coin tricks" and he pats the handle of his sword "if it pleases you, we'd like your support in our quest."
Gracy grabs Klaus firmly by the shoulders, turning him to make direct eye contact. 'Klaus my friend, are you familiar with the writings of Sir Carnegie of the Dale? A wise man with sage advice for winning new friends. He believed that people would never care about how much you knew until they knew how much you cared. Speak from the heart my friend, tell them the truth, that we are here to lend what comfort and aid we can. With my help and Wilmot's Guidance you'll do fine.'
Gracy then turns the Paladin to face the edge of the pool, and leans into to whisper into his ear 'But maybe do it from up here first until they invite you into their home.'

Klaus returns Gracy's clasp on his shoulders, looks Wilmot in the eye before grasping his forearm an affirmation of their friendship, strides to the edge of the Locathahs' pool, being careful not to step in the water, but also making sure that he might be visible to any who care to see where his voice is coming from.
"Hail, Locathah! I am Klaus, my friends and I are here on behalf of the people of Salt Marsh. Forgive me my ignorance, for I know little of your people and customs, but I do know that we share a common foe, the sahuagin. I know that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I know how to fight, and I know how to protect my allies. If you would have us as allies, we would not let you down. If you place your trust in us, we will place our trust in you, and we will fight these sea-devils to the end side-by-side. What say you?"

Klaus mutters to himself: "My. There may be something to this knight of the Dale's method. I will have to buy a round for Gracy and Wilmot if we survive this."
