"No luck. I had hoped for some written orders or something to indicate there was more to this than simple grave robbery. I suppose I was thinking too highly of the Welcomers."
"Grave robbing," Uragum said and was about to spit but then stopped himself as this was sacred ground. He swallowed and then mimed spitting. "Its pretty low, granted in my tribe you do t get buried with all of this stuff. You get your weapon and your clothing and returned to the earth. Anyways what was I saying. Oh ya, grave robbing, my guess is they was tight on money and we t for easy picking but found some of them were still kickin."
Feeling a bit more spirited, Sylyra steps out of the back room's shelter to where he has line of sight with Cassyt, slides his hood back to fall against his shoulders, and gives a small bow. "There you are, m'lady. The grave robbers are thwarted." While his tone of voice is sweet and apparently void of mirth, it still sounds suspicious. Without waiting for any kind of reply from the half-elf, the elf turns to the others. "Shall we continue?" He walks out of the room, but pauses as to avoid continuing alone.
Hex looks down at the bodies and prods one with her foot, looking for any salvageable arrows. "Cassyt, should we just leave these bodies here for your people to clean up?"
"I am more curious how did they know where to climb. As if someone pointed out the entrance." She kept her eyes on Cassyt pointedly for a few moments. But whether the kelemvorite reacted or not to the notion, Ola walked out after Sylyra.
"Thats a good question Ola but one for another time. First order of business is figuring out the undead situation. The Welcomes sure didn't know what they were walking into," Uragum says.
He will crouch down by the half orc and take his weapon. Doesn't matter what state it's in. Uragum holds it up to Cassyt and says, "In my culture fights have meaning. They settle arguments and grievances and the winner get something. In this case, I'll get a weapon."
Cassyt, seeming tense during the fight, eases when questions are directed her way. She takes a moment to think before answering, "Yes, that is probably best. Even with their attempts to rob the dead, it still falls on us Kelemvorites to see them to their final rest and to notify their organization next of kin, and...I do not see an easy way of getting them out without stairs."
"Technically that is still robbing from the dead," she quips to Uragum, "But as they have not officially been interred, I do not believe Doomguide Glandon would object if all you take is his weapon."
OOC: Hox only fired 1 arrow (the half-orc was dead before her second attack), so removed 1 arrow from her inventory since it is not recoverable.
The dust has finally settled in the chamber with the four-armed statue, still standing firm among the wreckage of the rickety stairs. A corridor opens to the left further down the passage; past that, a set of stairs descends even lower into the catacombs.
While waiting for the others to file out of the room, Sylyra has decided to examine the statue. Once they are ready to go, he will follow in the back with Hex once again.
Ola would be somewhere at the head of the procession with her lamp again. If someone wants to scout ahead she would not interfere, just wants to be in front of those, who prefers to shoot from the shadows.
Uragum would pick up the torch again and hold it high from somewhere middle of the pack. "Deeper we go and further from the oversight. Likely we hit more undead."
The statue bears somewhat insectoid features and clutches different objects in each of its hands: A scroll in one hand, a quill in a second, and a skull in the third, while the fourth is empty.
OOC: Need some confirmation on the specific direction before I can advance. Is the party heading down the steps ahead, or down the passage to the left?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

You recognize the statue as that of Jergal, an ancient deity charged with recording the disposition of souls and guarding the tombs of the dead.
The set of stairs stops at a small platform before turning to continue downward. At the bottom, the walls of this section are lined with burial niches containing skeletons, as in other areas of the catacombs, but skeletons also stare down at you from the ceiling where they were set into shallow plaster. Some arm bones, leg bones, and skulls have cracked free and fallen to the floor, but most remain in the positions and poses they were given ages ago.
Another set of stairs leads downward at the opposite end of the room.
"Interesting choice of decoration," commented Ola seemingly calmly, though her voice trembled a bit. She raised the lamp higher and walked towards the stairs at the other end of the room.

Hex nods at Cassyt and follows Ola and Sylyra out of the room.

"Deeper down we go." Hex stands by as usual, waiting for everyone to go first before following behind.

(I think we're going down the steps, if everyone is alright with that?)
(Ola is fine with the stairs)

Does Sylyra recognize the statue or understand any relevance or history behind it?
Sylyra does not have any specific direction in mind, so long as the party continues on the job at hand.
Uragum is good with steps as well.
