Sling vs. Arnald: 7 Dagger vs. Sylyra: 23Damage: 6 Dagger vs. Sylyra (Advantage-Pack Tactics): 21Damage: 4
The kobolds sneer at the suggestion, and one quickly tosses a stone across the room toward Arnald while the other two immediately drop their slings in favor of daggers. They surround Sylyra as he towers over them in his large horse form, plunging their blades into his legs.
Hex is able to turn over each of the beds, seeing nothing beneath them, when the rest of the party hears the sudden sounds of battle from the adjoining room.
Round 2 Order: Players <===== Kobolds
Placement: Three kobolds remain in the adjoining room. Two kobolds are engaged in melee combat with Sylyra. Arnald is 30 feet away from the kobolds. Hex, Ola and Uragum must use a round of movement to see the kobolds.
Hex quickly makes her way over to the sound of fighting, but keeps her distance, stopping as soon as an enemy comes into view. She shouts back at Ola and Uragum, "You're in no form to fight. Try to stay back, hit them from afar." Noticing that there are only a few kobolds, she relaxes a bit and pulls out an arrow out to prepare to take a shot. "Or better yet, don't fight. Only a couple of kobolds."
OOC: Botting Arnald for this round with a longbow attack.
Draft horses have 19 HP as an average, but I always roll for health, including each time a druid uses Wild Shape.

Sylyra's powerful hind quarters in his horse form blow the brains out of one of the kobolds accosting him. The other pushes through Uragum's attempted frostbite to stab fruitlessly toward Sylyra as its companion loads the pot in its hands into its sling and launches it. The pot crosses paths with Arnald's arrow before sailing past the archer; as it smashes against the far wall, it erupts into a gaseous cloud that quickly dissipates. Arnald's arrow meets more success, lodging into the kobold's shoulder, which successfully dives away from Cassyt's sacred flame as she arrives with Ola and Hex at the edge of the room.
Round 3 Order: Players <===== Kobolds
Placement: Two kobolds remain in the adjoining room. One kobold is engaged in melee combat with Sylyra. The rest of the party is 30 feet away from the kobolds.
Health: The kobold that is not fighting Sylyra is grievously wounded.
Ola is grievously wounded. Uragum is grievously wounded. Sylyra is lightly wounded.
Not the Ola was truly going to follow wise advice to stay away from melee, but horse-Sylyra did not leave much room for maneuver, so she tried to get the kobold from afar at least a firs. Just keeping in front of the party in case scaly scoundrels will try to run through.

Kobold CON Save: 14 Longbow vs. Kobold: 17Damage: 9
With reinforcements, the volley of attacks overwhelms the pair of kobolds. Hex puts the wounded kobold out of its misery, and Uragum assails the second with frost while Arnald lines it up, delivering an arrow into its head.
Room Description:
A modest-sized chamber is appointed in the furnishings of living quarters. A few straw pallets, a couple chests, and a table with a few chairs are spread throughout the room in complete disarray. Furniture has been turned over and upset, and papers are strewn all about the room. A small tunnel exits the room to the southeast.
OOC: Each character has received 12 XP for defeating the trio of kobolds. Removed 1 arrow from Hex's inventory and 2 arrows from Arnald's inventory.
"Please tell me this tunnel is not part of the catacombs we have to investigate!" It was a moment of weakness, that Ola would feel ashamed of lately but right now she was too tired and too wounded to think clearly. Just in case another waver of kobolds was about to spring from the tunnel, she came closer.
OOC: First of all, sorry for not posting the last round. I missed the DM roundup and thought the last couple of posts I saw were part of the previous round. Secondly, thanks for the explanation, DM, that you roll health for wildshapes. I get it now.
Horse-Sylyra shakes his mane. He stomps a foot and waves his head in the direction of the next tunnel.
While Arnald goes through the papers, Hex goes to check out the chests. She gives Ola a sympathetic look. "I'm going to guess that what we came to look for is down that tunnel. Let's just take a short rest before continuing on for now."
Wearily Uragum raises a fist, "Hurrah, another victory." He makes his way over to a chair and sits down. There he takes a few breaths before he starts going through some papers that are about. "A rest sounds good."
"How long have these people been living here?" Cassyt wonders aloud as Hex opens each of the chests, which are nearly full, but contain only mundane personal items and clothing.
Most of the papers that Arnald and Uragum examine are blank or uninteresting, but they discover among them a set of maps. The maps are labeled in Draconic, which Uragum understands. With that knowledge he is able to determine that these portray an accurate picture of the catacombs up to this point, including the tunnel in this room. The tunnel is labeled with an arrow pointing further east and a single word - "Hesjing"
For Hex and Uragum:
The word on the map describing the tunnel translates to "Pool".
OOC: Sounds like a short rest is in order. The usual questions:
How long would the party like to rest? (minimum 1 hour for a short rest)
Are there any light activities that anybody would like to perform during the short rest, such as identifying or attuning?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Did we get anything to identify or attune to?)
At any rate if we take the short rest HD: 5 (added!)
Ola simply sat where she was standing ("guarding" the tunnel) with her back against the wall, and tried to get as much rest as was possible in this place.
At the end of the rest before all decided to dive into the tunnel, she shared what little healing magic she had with Uragum: Cure Wounds5
OOC: I don't memorize every character's inventory, so it's always possible someone has something they've been hanging on to.
Feel free to roll hit dice in advance to speed things up, but as always the hit points won't be added until a short rest has completed without interruption.
